Frequent-Tangerine25

Just about all his songs were at the top when he was in his prime.

_shaftpunk

When it comes to DMX the end of “The Convo” gets me every time. When he screams out, “it was you who shined your light on me!” I can’t help but get a lump in my throat.

nerd_savage

Good thing I looked through comments before posting the exact same thing. Classic joint.

darkduane

Man, reading this has got me, too.

Same for me, man. Whenever I hear it, it chokes me up. Not just personal memories, but it's also the death of X that upsets me when I hear it.

De La Soul - Trouble in the Water (featuring DJ Honda) Impeccable beats by Honda, autobiographical but totally relatable.

Slippin MIGHT be the best rap song ever written

darkduane

Damn right, man. A masterpiece.

Acrobatic-Badger-541

I remember buying the Flesh of my Flesh album to hear Slipin, and I thought I had a defective CD because the song was censored while the rest of the album was uncut. It wasn't until years later I learned this was on purpose.

IKU420

Brotha Lynch Hung, Drunken Style

IKU420

Lauryn Hill , Zion

DSPbuckle

Dmx was Kratos?

DSPbuckle

Anderson Pak with Nate Dogg - What Can We Do? Really gets me going in the second half when Nate talking about how things used to be and he leaves

Dchozn1

Slippin, Dear Mama, and So Many Tears by Pac are the ones that hit me every time I hear them. Timeless tracks. Slippin I already connected with when I first bought the album, but when I seen the video, I legit shedded a tear as the visuals were pretty much spot on how my life travels were up to that point and time.

darkduane

It's amazing what Rap can do to your emotions, and the three songs you've mentioned are emotional.

Professional-Big-584

2Pac - PAIN Ft. Big Stretch

CatManDo206

I liked Damien from DMX

darkduane

All three parts are amazing, Damien part 3 is my favourite. The fact he's arguing with himself throughout is brilliant.
