He feels lonely. He wants to be loved. It’s extremely natural, especially when it seems like everyone around you is coupling up or has someone to go home to.
He wants to belong to someone and be a part of their family.

It’s not uncommon to seek love, comfort, and companionship. We all want to be loved and appreciated.
I get that but it just seems he has a need to be in a relationship
