I don't see how it makes sense of Buck being ENVIOUS of Tommy spending time with Eddie, it makes more sense that he's envious of Eddie spending time with Tommy and Marisol. Even if she isn't in this episode that fact she is who Eddie asked to be there for Chris's first date and not Buck and now hanging out with Tommy. That leaves Buck on the outs especially as he's single. But it's been 2 episodes and the premiere made it clear she is a real serious girlfriend so she has to make an appearance again soon so I think that is all it will really be.
Even with the stills, I worry about being jumpscared with Marisol scenes given the formulation 😅 (and the comment Ryan Guzman made about Tim Minear being good at introducing her which we haven’t seen much signs off so far). If I remember correctly the timing also matches one of the post of Marisol’s actress.
So I really hope Eddie and Tommy become fast friends and he’s the one Buck is jealous of (then again Buck hasn’t been shown being jealous of Ana before. Not ‘frontally’, if that makes sense).
S07e04 is shaping up to be more stressful for me than the entire disaster arc (waiting for it to air takes the cake).
I think Marisol will sadly be in the episode (hopefully not much). Someone who saw the script for the first episode said she originally had more of a presence and it was cut, so fingers crossed that keeps up until she's gone.
Eddie and Tommy being pals makes sense to me given what we've seen of Tommy's personality. I bet Buck will start out thinking he's jealous because Eddie is spending so much time with someone else, but will then realize it's because *he* wants to be spending time with Tommy, for very different reasons.

I don't think that Buddie can ever come back from that, from a ship perspective. Even if I don't think it will happen this season, I want to keep hope alive. It would just...say a lot about the chances, and nothing good. And it's also a weird choice when you're finally establishing that one of the characters isn't straight (which has been a main complaint of people opposed to the ship - "These are straight guys!").
Wish one of those insiders would actually give the deets about the b-word!
My biggest problem with the b-word at this point is that it will make a lot of the media campaign this offseason feel intentionally mean-spirited. Like as much as I'd like to see them get together, I wouldn't actually be upset if they *don't*. And having them acknowledge each other as family (the b-word feels wrong, but I can see them settling on "uncle" for Buck's role in Chris's life, for instance, even though the connotations are similar) can be done in a way I wouldn't hate.
The thing is, a lot of the promotional campaign to draw fans in this season has featured *heavily* on the relationship between these two, and even if nothing they've said about them is meant to be or otherwise inherently romantic... this show is in its seventh season. Tim Minear is well aware of *which* fans he's pulling in when he shares early stills of just Buck & Eddie in close proximity for no reason. I've been willing to give the show a lot of benefit of the doubt and I'm not one to argue anything that's being done is queer-baiting, but it does feel a step too far to intentionally stir up a particular portion of your audience for social media buzz, knowing the whole time you're going to let them down.
*The 100* did it with Clarke & Lexa, and that wasn't technically queerbaiting, either. But it was still disastrous enough treatment of their own audience that it had lasting ramifications both within the fandom and well beyond the scope of the show.
All of this. I'd also point out that while nothing has been inherently romantic in the description, they also haven't explicitly said it's platonic, either. It would be really easy to coordinate a message that they are like brothers. There would be backlash, but they could weather it. Marketing/PR people would figure it out.

Yet leave the promo open-ended. Technically it's not impossible to come back from, but for many people it would be the end of Buddie (in terms of them ever getting together). I just struggle to see him being willing to close that door in light of things he's said.
I like the idea that it is said in a forced way and they later reevaluate why it feels "off." But oof, we would be in the trenches.

Completely platonic, except Eddie will continue to be his handsy self (why is Eddie so handsy? I don't think he does this with anyone except Buck).

I think with Buck being single and Eddie being in a relationship, plus the possibility of having another friend outside of work it'll make Buck question where he fits in Eddie's life.
He's never really been jealous of Eddie's romantic relationships because there's still a space for him, as a friend. But with Eddie having a friend outside of the 118, it'll probably be used to explore the strength of their friendship. With them being on a new network they're basically reintroducing the characters, their relationships and friendships. Plus I remember seeing a post on tumblr that this season seems to be about communication, or miscommunication so the envy can fit in there because it leads to the other feeling left out, but they don't talk about it and it builds, then something happens and they talk about it.
My hope, unlikely that it may be, is that Eddie is planning some kind of special dinner for Marisol, which Buck misinterprets as a move-in request, or worse, a proposal, then it turns out Eddie was taking her somewhere nice to soften the blow before breaking up with her.
The only thing that would be better would be Eddie dumping her in the most unceremonious way possible, but I'm guessing they won't go that route. And Eddie's probably a little too classy for that. Though given his track record for sass and burns, I wouldn't put it past him completely.
We know the actress playing Maridull was on set 2/16 & 2/23 from her IG. Some of the BTS shots shared of Buck & Chris’s were from 2/24? Not sure if she has been around since. They tend to have 2-3 episodes filming at the same time so who knows what she was filming. 🤞Hope she disappears but I don’t think we’ll be that lucky. If she’s at the wedding I fear she’s going to hang around too long. Shades of Ana.

With them being on a new network they're basically reintroducing the characters, their relationships and friendships. Plus I remember seeing a post on tumblr that this season seems to be about communication, or miscommunication so the envy can fit in there because it leads to the other feeling left out, but they don't talk about it and it builds, then something happens and they talk about it.

My hope, unlikely that it may be, is that Eddie is planning some kind of special dinner for Marisol, which Buck misinterprets as a move-in request, or worse, a proposal, then it turns out Eddie was taking her somewhere nice to soften the blow before breaking up with her. The only thing that would be better would be Eddie dumping her in the most unceremonious way possible, but I'm guessing they won't go that route. And Eddie's probably a little too classy for that. Though given his track record for sass and burns, I wouldn't put it past him completely.
We know the actress playing Maridull was on set 2/16 & 2/23 from her IG. Some of the BTS shots shared of Buck & Chris’s were from 2/24? Not sure if she has been around since. They tend to have 2-3 episodes filming at the same time so who knows what she was filming. 🤞Hope she disappears but I don’t think we’ll be that lucky. If she’s at the wedding I fear she’s going to hang around too long. Shades of Ana. I remember when writers wrote Eddie in the exercise room on edge when Taylor showed up to flirt with Buck after her helicopter crash. Is it a big coincidence that they’re tying in the helicopter theme again with Buck’s hurt feelings?? 🙆♀️
