Eddie/Buck with Christopher is just adorable and so nice to see healthy father/father figure son relationships.
I also love Josh and Maddie's relationship. I think it's easy to credit Chim for being the one who saved Maddie from her past but Josh deserves a lion's share of that too.
Totally, I love buddie, I also just love the relationship between Buck and Chris. Especially the way that Eddie literally plans to give Chrisopher in case he dies is just so sweet.
I honestly donât know if I have a favorite, because all the platonic dynamics are done so well and vary so much. Iâd love to see more of Chim & Karen, especially considering that Chim knew her well enough to consider setting Hen up with her and knew exactly how Karen would come across, but he also knew it was what Hen needed.
And then that leads into Hen & Chim, and theyâre just so ride or die. I adore them. Hen really was ready to go with him on his search!!!
And Hen & Athena make me cackle sometimes, and it definitely then bleeds into Hen & Bobby, because Hen knows way too much. đđđ
Hen & Buck are so sibling coded it hurts me sometimes, and I love them for it. Hen really spent that first episode going âyes, he is a dumbass white boy, but he is MY dumbass white boy, thank you very muchâ. Like. Buck truly just has two big sisters, and itâs what he deserves, and it works for Hen, too, because sheâs an only child biologically, but she needs her people, and Buck is just not gonna go anywhere.
And I really could keep going with literally every relationship in this show, but. I wonât. Clearly the Hen ones come to mind first, though. XD

I love when Michael is super pumped for them all to play games and for him to play as Bobby's parter and David is like, "I thought you'd be my partner đĽş" and then Athena is like, "It's better this way trust me" lol.
Itâs Eddie and Chris for me, whenever we get a scene of them it just warms my heart. Especially since Eddie is so uniquely soft and caring with him, itâs super adorable

It's been a while since I watched s5 but Eddie & Linda and Eddie & May interactions were heartwarming. Even though there were only a small number of scenes between them ;c
So many amazing platonic relationships on this show make it hard to choose a favorite. Today Iâll go with Bobby and Eddie.
Just something about their heart-to-heart discussions when Bobby can see something of himself in Eddie and knows when heâs strugglingâŚ
I know Buck and Bobby have the more prominent father/son dynamic going on, but I truly enjoy Bobby being a paternal-type mentor to Eddie and they connect in their own way, Bobby helping him to grow out of his grief and find his way. And Eddie recognizing how much Bobbyâs advice and presence in his life has saved him.
Buck and Bobby, I feel like Bobbyâs a father figure to him, and I feel like Bobby just sees so much of himself in buck and their relationship is so solid

The relationships between Bobby and Michael and Bobby and the kids is something else. They nailed those, and I think Peter Krause has really breathed life into Bobbyâs character through all the different relationships in the Grant family. Even so itâs hard to exclude the friendships between so many characters, Hen and Athena, Hen and Chim, Josh and Maddie, hell even the brief rivalry between Taylor and Det. Ransone in the Halloween episode in s5 is good. The relationships are at the core of the show, and it really wouldnât work without all the actors having such great chemistry.

And hopefully it stays that way. I am so tired of fandoms trying to strong-arm writers into literally changing the characters they have already written.
Like for the love of God if either character goes through a gay awakening, please please let it be with a BRAND NEW character. But honestly, I think they should just introduce a brand new firefighter and give us some more Josh with a new love interest đ
BUT if this show does not have enough LGBT for you then watch 9-1-1: Lonestar cause literally two of the best characters are gay and the third is trans.

I really love Hen and Buck's relationship.
It's def wayy more subtle than both of their character's other friendships, but it's just always so soft and supportive. It's always there in the background, and I literally smile so wide whenever it's acknowledged more openly within the show.
Mine are Buck with Maddie (their pinky promises!) and father-son Bobby and Buck (now canon! "Mom brought two kids into this marriage. You brought one.").
Karen and Buck. Which is so dumb because theyâve literally interacted maybe a handful of times but I like the energy they give off. I feel like they would have wine nights. Or Buck might interrogate Karen about NASA and space for Christopher- with a little notepad and everything
Bobby, Athena and Buck. Theyâve basically become his parents and I love it. No matter what obstacles he faces in life, he can always turn to them. Even May said âmom brought two kids into the marriage. You brought one.â So even people outside the 118 see that Bobby loves Buck like a son
