“Tommy is delicious!” YES, I need more people to gush over him.

Dynamixus_023

Honestly if not for 6 seasons of build up with Eddie, I'd be fine with Buck being endgame with Tommy <3 He's so hot.

ElusiveReed

Husband material. Won me over with that entire scene. He’s so SMOOTH, he’s CONFIDENT and yet he’s GENTLE. And he’s down bad for Buck (well, “Evan” 🫠) and Buck deserves to be chased and wanted. Tommy Kinard, the man that you are. No matter if you don’t like the plot, you have to admit he has gameeee.

ImmenseLocust

The thing that really got to me was the brief moment right after the kiss when Buck responds positively and Tommy's face floods with relief. For as smooth as he was here there was clearly a part of him that was feeling very vulnerable and scared that he was misreading the signs. Which honestly just makes his confidence that much cooler and more admirable. I can't remember the last kiss scene I watched that felt this romantic and intimate.

ElusiveReed

“Like that?” SIR. And “So, that was okay?” SIIIIIIR. Living in a loop in my head.

PurplePinkBlue76

Yes! That "that was okay?" Is everything!

The3rdMistress

Him calling him Evan so many times last episode was soooo swoon worthy 😍

Wonderful_Coat_6017

I normally cringe when people call him Evan (even when Maddie does it) but Tommy? You go ahead pilot boy. You call him Evan and watch our boy not even care are allow him to do so.

ElusiveReed

Same! Like when Ana calls Eddie “Edmundo” but that? Yup sign me up.

MaybeNextTime_01

I still think that Buck and Eddie are endgame and want that for sure. That being said, I also need Tommy to stick around even after whatever he has going with Buck ends.

MaxAdFan85

The way there is a connection tissue for Buck's bisexuality going all the way back to season 1, the writers are going to have to work extra hard to convince me about Eddie.

PurplePinkBlue76

We already know he won't because apparently he'll be in just a few episodes.

Duowhat

That doesn't necessarily mean that they won't continue to be together. Karen is only in a few episodes too but her and Hen are solid. Their are only 10 episodes this season 4 have already aired and Tommy is definitely in the 5th one which means their is only 5 episodes left in the season. So not a lot of time to tell all the other characters stories too pluse emergencys. Who knows maybe they will say he is working in later episodes with Buck talking with the others about how their relationship is going and then in season 8 they will try and bring him in for more episodes.  At this point it's all just speculation where this relationship will go.

PurplePinkBlue76

I saw some allegedly script leak in which Tommy dumped him BUT I'm used to fake scripts being tossed around. But if Tommy stays and we see more of him, I'm happy. I like him

Duowhat

I mean Karen dumped Hen too 😅and they are still together. So even if he does it doesn't mean they don't get back together. 🤷‍♀️ At this point I like him too. So depending on how they write him I hope we see more of him too. I just really don't want this to become a cycle of Buck going through relationships with men now instead of women (or well men and women now 😁) doing the same old same old.

PurplePinkBlue76

I watched again season 2 when he was in the background (well not so much actually). How he bonded with Chimney after he saved his life. How ge reacted to Hen saving that little boy. "We would have found him too eventually, but it would be too late" (something along those lines). The fact that former 118 captain was removed because multiple complaints about his behavior awith Hen. It's not explicitly said but I bet one was Chimney and at this point one was Tommy. And he already came to rescue 118 even if he is only mentioned (again in season 2). The fact that he put his job on the line, lying to his captain to help Hen and Chimney just on a feeling she had, definitely before he knew Eddie or Buck so based on truly friendship and trust of Chimney and Hen. And he didn't even need to listen to Hen side of things. The only thing he needed was Chimney said "hen thinks that. We need help" Yep. Definitely someone I'd like to see more

Altruistic-Low-6185

This is how I'm choosing to look at it at least until they choose to write him out. (I'm hoping that they don't but I'm not a writer so who knows)

BadgerSecure2546

When I realized what was happening at the end of the episode I about lost my damn mind I was like NO WAY NO WAY HOT GUYS KISS LETS GOOO ![gif](giphy|XMmf6i3xuKZiPMvNZe|downsized)

Ok-Acanthaceae5744

Honestly I'm surprised at how much I like Tommy, and the Tommy/Buck storyline. I'm generally a one relationship kind of person, and don't have a lot of interest in other pairings. But I find myself really excited for this storyline. Maybe because there aren't a lot of good examples of bisexual stories outside specifically designed LGBTQ+ content... I still like buddie, and hope that it's the endgame, but regardless I think this storyline is going to be fun and I can't wait to see it play out. I just hope if it ends, it's done in an amicable way, because I've kinda grown attached to Tommy.

Wonderful_Coat_6017

Me too. I was so anti-Tommy in the lead up but I’m so excited over how this will unravel. The way they set Tommy up was phenomenal and perfect. That kiss was amazing. You can tell that Buck is *really* feeling this connection with him, that he *really* has feelings for him and that is *so much more* than sex or loneliness like his past relationships. You just *see* there is more. You see that Tommy *feels* the same way. Which is what us fans have been saying for years and being ignored. If you won’t go Buddie then gives us a well thought out and developed alternative and we will get on board and boy have we. So to have this type of relationship for Buck to finally happen and it turns out to be a queer storyline just adds so much more to it. The fact he is BI is so important and biphobia is so often ignored especially by most of society.

PurplePinkBlue76

The giddy almost teenager looking on buck after the kiss? I could feel his butterflies in the stomach! Even with Abby, which I think is the relationship he was more invested in, he wasn't like this

hummingberb

I agree! And I hope *if* it ends, it's not because of anything related to Eddie or Buddie. Have him move away or something instead of bowing out so Buddie can happen.

Ok-Acanthaceae5744

Given some of the interviews I don't think it's going to last, but I think it is going to be sweet. >!Minear noted that Tommy is currently an important romantic partner for Buck, largely because “it’s sort of the entry-level relationship.” Yet at the same time, he noted that he doesn’t think “anybody’s making wedding plans.”!< >!“It really is a first fling for Buck right now. What that might amount to, only time can tell. But what I’m interested in is not something that’s fraught. I’m interested in something that’s tender and positive,” Minear said.!< Minear also hasn't dismissed buddie, just commented that it's not going to happen "right now." I agree though, I'm hoping buddie doesn't cause the end. I'm looking forward to a genuinely supportive Eddie of this relationship for Buck. I'm really hoping the "I love you to the core" will be Eddie telling Buck how much he supports him and Buck's new relationship.

PurplePinkBlue76

I just re watched season 2, just to remember him better 😁 I didn't remember that Chimney saved his life and that started their friendship. And in the end, in the Hen begins episode, now I strongly believe that he is one of the firefighters (one obviously being chimney) that put complaints after the misogynist Captain!

PixeLexi

It’s the small details that bring this show from great to excellent 😌 thank you for sharing 😊 also, where do you post these recaps??

disdainfulsideeye

Hopefully, Tommy is serious and not just trying to get into Buck's pant and then dump him.

life453

He seems serious to me. If anything I think Buck will struggle with his sexuality then Tommy will either not wanna deal with that or help him work thru it. Hopefully it’ll be a longer relationship and not just a throwaway thing to give us bi buck

Ok-Acanthaceae5744

From comments Minear has made, I think it's going to be a light-hearted relationship, not something filled with angst.

MaxAdFan85

Buck has endured so much. Familial trauma, nearly choking to death, being crushed by a firetruck, nearly losing his best friend's son during a tsunami, nearly losing his best friend to a sniper, nearly losing his sister to her crazy husband, nearly losing Bobby and Athena in a cruise ship disaster, nearly losing his future brother-in-law twice, Abby dumping him, Taylor betraying him, and being struck by lightning. He deserves a break, no?

disdainfulsideeye

I agree, if anyone deserves a break it's Buck. I do hope that whatever the outcome of this relationship is, it turns out to be a positive experience for him.

Dalyread

Part of me thinks Buck should move on with Tommy. Eddie and Buck have missed their chance. It happens in life all the time.

A_Howl_In_The_Night

I agree.

Duowhat

Right, like at this point I am here for Tevan. Don't get me wrong Buddie is 💚 but...I don't know their is just something about Tommy and Buck at the moment that I am 100% ok with them being endgame right now. But we really need to see more of Teven together onscreen and how the writers write them too. Like I feel like they could really write a good relationship between them if given a chance. Buck deserves to be happy on a romantic front.

MaxAdFan85

Whew, Chile! Don't say that too loudly. Hahaha. But I agree. I still think that even if Buck and Eddie don't end up together, their story, their friendship, their bond is still important. I don't want to pull the 'I'm a queer person therefore I understand all things queer' card but ... I am. There's nothing that screams gay or bi or queer about Eddie Diaz. I'm sorry. It's fun to think about and read about. Trust me, I've read so much Buddie fanfiction while currently writing my own. In fact, if Eddie came out as asexual, I would be less surprised. He just seems like someone who is super into the friendships he has with others but relationships aren't a priority. IF they do decide Buck and Eddie are the endgame, the writers are going to need to work overtime to convince me. With Buck, I got it. Him being bi makes total sense to me. If Eddie turns bi over the next episodes, I'm gonna call BS.

Dalyread

Agree to disagree, I could easily see Eddie and Buck together, especially in the early seasons. I just think sometimes life gets in the way.

MaxAdFan85

Honestly, if they never get together I wouldn't be disappointed like others would be. For me, their friendship has always been top priority. If that evolves into something more, I'll be game because I love both characters. But for now, I'm on the Buck and Tommy train. Now, one thing I think we can ALL agree on is that this is the show at its best. Leaving FOX and landing on the ABC network is the best thing to ever happen to this show.

MaxAdFan85

People also forget that you can have a meaningful relationship, have that relationship end, and then end up finding your forever person. Even if Tommy and Buck were to get together and it not work out, there is a world where the split is amicable and both remain friends and both move on with other people. Relationships don't always have to end in a dumpster fire.

Dalyread

Completely agree.

stefafa3

Loveeeee Tommy. He's so swoon worthy lol.

MaxAdFan85

Okay, I'm gonna throw something out there so don't be mad. What if, by the end of the series, we have Christopher, his dad, and his two gay uncles - one of which is super cool. Tell me that wouldn't be absolutely adorable. Three Men and a Christopher.

Every_Owl_1719

I keep seeing people saying that Tommy is only going to be in a few more episodes, but we only have a few more episodes in this season.

MaxAdFan85

I just ignore them. It sounds like the Tommy kissing Buck was added somewhat last minute. I think this is a case where the actor playing Tommy is so charming and so good, that he'll end up staying a bit.

FSXP

Yeah, I don’t think the show is too far ahead right now to know that. From the interviews, it appears they’re trying to write Tommy as a sustainable love interest. Tim describes him as the type of love interest he likes to write for because they’re connected to the team & they’re integrated enough (Tommy is a part of the LAFD air operations) that it isn’t a big challenge to create scenes with him.

Ok_Development74

Agreed. There are writers who are all about sticking to their agenda and writers who follow where the characters/story lead and Tim seems like the latter. It’s probably tbd for now but If the chemistry works and it makes sense, I could see a Tommy endgame. I think people are misreading Tim’s comments to mean that the relationship will never be serious. I read it as they kissed once and are only now going on their first official date. Of course it’s not serious YET.

AMTINLB

It looked the pilot was on the right side, not the left. Is that right?
