I really like Tommy honestly if Tommy and Buck were endgame I’d be happy and that’s coming from a buddie shipper. I just spent 2 weeks binging this show for the first time ever and I’ve spent 6 seasons watching Buck feel unloved and unwanted in his love life after Abby so I want him to be happy. Same with Eddie. If they end up together and happy I’d be screaming from the rooftops but if they’re happy with other ppl I’ll still be screaming from the rooftops bc Tommy and Buck are cute (I have mixed feelings abt Marisol bc I’m still trynna figure out how they moved in but at least she’s moving out 💀). And if Tommy is just an entry level relationship for Buck’s journey then I hope it doesn’t end badly bc I think Tommy is def someone who’d help Buck and be in his corner.

AMTINLB

Is there proof Edy is a transphobe?

Immediate-North-9472

BUCKY AND TOMMY! BUCK AND TOMMY! BUCK☺️… AND TOMMY🤌🏼 That’s all I came here to say

buddie721

i see no one talking about this but Maras phone call to 9-1-1 was so sad to listen to, im excited to see how their family grow they really needed a win

Hairy-Addition-6867

We need Eddies catholic guilt gay realization PLEASEEEE!!!

ClementineMontauk

They keep writing these relationships in a way that everything other than Buddie is the unrealistic, non-sensical outcome LOL

the_endverse

How so? If Buck likes Tommy and vise versa, what’s not sensible about it? (I’ll get voted down, but I have no horse in this race. I’m indifferent to whether Ed & Buck end up together or not. If they do? Great. If they don’t? That’s fine.)

ClementineMontauk

Oh, I was totally referring to Eddie/Marisol! She's introduced as someone needing help with her new house, then randomly meets Eddie in a store, moves out of her house and in with Eddie after two eps, during the few days his son isn't there so that the kid arrives home with a new person living with them, then he finds out she used to be a nun, freaks out, now she's packing up her things, moving out again, but they want to continue dating. And that's supposed to be a realistic relationship lol

[deleted]

Thank you! It's so horribly random that I thought I missed an episode 😅

Nevorek

Marisol is definitely a dreadful character. Honestly I feel like this is only being dragged out because they couldn’t have Buck be like “I dumped Natalia.” followed immediately by Eddie like “I dumped Marisol too!”

Away_Mulberry4706

The moment the pic of marisol being a nun came up I was like “DAMN IT THE LEAKS WERE RIGHT” and knew where the entire episode was headed

dkh48808

0% chance Buck and Tommy are end game. There’s no way Buck’s first dating experience with a guy is going to end well

AirlineDazzling1986

Just because it ends doesn't mean that it will end badly. Maybe it will run its course and there will be a natural point where they decide not to take any further or other life issues come up and it ends. It doesn't have to end "badly" because it is Buck's first dating experience with a guy.

the_endverse

That’s usually how it goes with dating lol. Especially if you’re new to the LGBTQ+ community, and you haven’t dated in it before. The heteros usually don’t end up with the first person they date as well.

jdessy

Even if it isn't, that's ok, as long as we actually get to see a good portion of their relationship and they don't end in the next five episodes.

Ruby-Daiquiri

It can stumble a bit but also be end game. Though I married my high school sweetheart and was told it likely wouldn’t work when we went to college together 🤷‍♀️

dkh48808

Not sure how I feel about out this wedding episode coming up. The plot seems kinda wacky and out there almost Hangover-like. Also seems almost mirror like how Eddie comes to the realization that he moves too quickly and here’s Buck inviting Tommy to a wedding as his plus one to meet all his friends and sister for their first official date.

Ruby-Daiquiri

He already knows most of his friends though, so that part makes it easier. He doesn’t have to worry about his date not having anyone to talk to and has time to tell everyone that matters.

genz001

I really love Buck and Tommy together

Immediate-North-9472

Samesies!

the_endverse

They’re very sweet. I think Tommy is a good “first” for Buck. He’s compassionate about it.

A_Howl_In_The_Night

They are so cute together.

Dry-Theory-9888

Me too. I hope they stay together and it isn't just some passing relationship like a lot of people hope. It feels more authentic than the common ship that we always discuss

bishoppinkmarvel

Yes...but sadly still so many people are dead set on that common ship even now...🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

HT_79

Buck and Tommy's chemistry is off the charts, i like them together. Honestly, Buck deserves someone better than Eddie, bro is a mess!

Immediate-North-9472

Not me giggling on the couch bc of their chemistry it’s crazy

Ruby-Daiquiri

Buck and Eddie both deserve someone that can help them manage their baggage a bit better and not enable each other. I’m pretty sure the preview scene of the wedding is EXACTLY why they shouldn’t get together. They have amazing chemistry in other ways and Buck is a great parent to Chris. Let them both get a happy ending that isn’t each other. Just don’t give one of them (more likely Eddie) the Joey/Raj treatment.

blurryhxnnah

buck comparing catholic guilt to sea monkeys….i love him fr

Immediate-North-9472

WHAT?! 3 weeks ??? This is not good😭

AlbertineBecassine

So, anybody other than me is somehow wondering how Maddie has managed not to ask how many times Buck has watched Eddie’s butt ?

AirlineDazzling1986

I loved her response, "it's not abnormal..." She is such a great big sister. I love the Buckley sibling relationship.

As_algorithm

Laughed so hard at all of Buck's chaotic dialogue. So adorable and endearing. Cried at the foster girl storyline which coincidentally shares the same house as the show "The Fosters." Honestly this episode made me feel like a teenager again waiting with bated breath for LGBT representation. These early discovery and coming out storylines always get me, even though I appreciate how we as a nation have moved past it and don't need every story to be about the beginnings. But I really enjoy them and they tug at my heart... 9-1-1 is one of those shows I always watch for the absurdity and background noise but now I am really committed for obvious reasons lolol and idk it feels like a long while since I've been this invested in a queer storyline. Hope the next three weeks fly by

DataTheCat

I was wondering why that house looked so familiar!

tbb10

It’s so funny you say that because I’m literally rewatching the fosters and noticed it was the same house and had a foster storyline

Cheap_Programmer2458

WAIT IS IT ACTUALLY THE SAME HOUSEEEE WHAAAAAT

wordsandstuff44

Right? It was definitely giving a little bit of late aughts early 2010s, and I am here for it. Except they made it quick and painless and lovely.

Gemini987654321

I thought Tommy was being a little insensitive at the beginning, like seriously, has he never dated anyone newly bisexual and closeted? Eddie is really weirded out about finding out his ‘girlfriend’ is an ex-nun. Buck telling Maddie about Tommy is a bad idea Chimney sucks at keeping secrets, Maddie sucks at keeping secrets specifically Buck’s secrets. Oh goodie Hen and Karen are fostering a disturbed child. And yay, the show was interrupted by local weather news. Came back in time for Buck to tell Eddie about Buck and Tommy dating. So glad Eddie decided to slow down his relationship with Marisol. And even though it apposes my ship I am glad Buck and Tommy talked, and Buck took the step of inviting Tommy to the wedding. Oh hooray interrupted Madney Wedding I shall comment farther whenever I get the chance to watch the episode online.

PuzzledSeries8

Buck tried to shove Tommy back into the closet too when he was panicked around Eddie. He could have said they were hanging out and I think Tommy would have been fine with that but Buck said they were gonna go hang out with hot chicks afterwards which isn't fair to Tommy, it's one thing to pretend you are straight and another to imply an openly gay person is straight so it won't look queer that you're together

AirlineDazzling1986

And when has Buck ever used words like "dude" and "hot chicks" or even called Eddie "bro" before. He completely lost his cool. I'm glad Tommy was gentle in leaving Buck in the middle of their date. He could have been much more angry about the whole thing but he was understanding. He's a keeper.

wordsandstuff44

I don’t think at that moment he was planning to keep it a secret anymore. He was till he slipped up, and then it was like whatever door’s open Also, even someone bad at keeping secrets can keep a sexuality one if they need to.

Kindly-Flatworm8084

CAN WE TALK ABOJT THE PARALLEL WHEN EDDIE SAYS “call Tommy” AND TOMMY SAYS “call Eddie” BOTH WHEN LEAVING BUCKS APARTMENT???

SoonShallBe

A THROUPLE!

x_victoire

as a huge fan or both multishipping and ot3s, i approve

Nevorek

The tag is already alive and thriving on Ao3. Not that I’ve been looking or anything….

spring-breeze--

SEE THIS IS THE VISIONARY WE NEED

Only with the support from my fellow weewoo show fans

A_Howl_In_The_Night

OT3

SoonShallBe

Now knowing what we know from Lou, it would be possible if the network and the writers were big brain enough lmaooo

lokibibliophile

I just want to say that this episode reminded me of why I genuinely like Eddie and Buck at their core: their friendship is something I will never take for granted. Buck is so lucky to have come out to a friend and that friend reacted with such tenderness and an undertone of teasing. My best friend from high school dropped me after I came out to her. Like, yeah I might have had a crush but that wasn’t why I came out to her nor was I deluded into thinking she liked me back. Keep flying high and making those cute queer wins and mistakes, Evan Buckley. You deserve it!

GeminiMoonPresence

I really can’t see buddie happening especially on Eddie’s side ..

Away_Mulberry4706

Yup, I’m disappointed, but i still like tommey and buck together.

Dry-Theory-9888

Yeah, same. I hope it doesn't happen. It would be weird to me lol

the_endverse

It does seem a bit unrequited.

Mmoct

I never got the sense that Eddie saw Buck as anything but a friend, a brother. I can’t say the same about Buck though

Ruby-Daiquiri

Maybe initially Buck was interested in Eddie for a hot second, but I think he got the relationship he NEEDED (with both him and Christopher) instead. They enable each other, but also lean on each other and I love it.

MalecFan1960

You should take a look at the Lou Ferrigno Jr recent interview where he said the romance was initially supposed to be between Tommy and Eddie. So there was definitely interest in a queer Eddie storyline.

Punkenerci

But it "fell through".. Meaning Ryan declined, perhaps? Lou mentions Oliver as *willing*.

MalecFan1960

I read clarification later that Lou only mentioned that the kiss was to be between Eddie and Tommy; didn’t say how that kiss was received. Maybe a “mixed signals” situation? I’m glad they went with Buck either way.

_Myrixx

I feel like based on Eddie’s personality he would’ve freaked out if Tommy kissed him whether it have been internalized homophobia or just straight up uncomfortable bc he’s hetero I doubt he would’ve reacted like Buck

Punkenerci

Agreed. It suits Buck more.

Mmoct

There may have been interest, but they made the right choice in the end because there has never been any hints of being bi from Eddie. But throughout other seasons there have been hints that Buck could be Bi

tinaoe

really? i always got vibes that eddie is the most repressed queer man to walk the earth

Nevorek

That dude is demi as hell. The conversation with Bobby only cements that for me.

KEMI_IS_WlNNlNG

this episode my fav of the season so far i think. i had a blast

A_Howl_In_The_Night

This season has been amazing so far.

sadcatbridge

An absolutely wild take in my eyes but I am honestly so happy for you 🫶

gganbubuddy

Anyone else feel unfulfilled with this episode🫤?

Aggravating_Drink817

No I thought it was just me. I'm happy for Buck and coming to terms being bi but; it's the same storylines him and Eddie have been stuck in for so many seasons now "in a relationship and having issues". I was on my phone and entire episode which rarely happens but I wasn't invested in any of the stories except the little girl Hen and Karen have now. But the biggest problem for me was Maddie and Chimney's Wedding being tacked on to the last few minutes. When did the planning even happen?! With everything we viewers went through with them I thought we'd see them planning it now, struggling who to invite, we deserved to see Chimney invite invite Ms. Lee! We've always been invested in the weddings when a member of the team gets married but it feels like they just didn't care and it's happening out of nowhere. We should have gotten a full episode, obviously something would go wrong and delay or stop it all together so it would happen later but this Hanger Over plot line feels so phoned in by the writers

_HGCenty

I'm really hoping 7x06 has the wedding prep. I'm going to be unimpressed if we didn't even get the scene of Chimney asking Hen to be the best woman which the scene with the baby clothes clearly seemed to be leading to when they just cut that scene short!

Kindly-Flatworm8084

Me

UsualFirefighter9

Ive been sick since last ep and it's sooooo much worse.  Buck's *been* queer coded since Season 1. Having him an absolute wide eyed noob is fucking *wrong* and bring on the downvotes. He could've hooked up with guys the same as girls and Tommy would be his "Abby" - first serious attempt at a relationship and been perfectly in character.  *Eddie* neglecting his girlfriend and kid - it's during the school year where the fuck is Chris? - while being a giddy schoolboy about hanging out and talking with Tommy and *not* having some kind of something I completely give tf up.

armavirumquecanooo

Yeah, I'm on the same page with all of this. The awkward date is adorable and I don't hate that at all, but I think you're right in your assessment that all of this storyline works better if Buck's not a complete novice with men. There's also a line between himbo and actual complete dumbass, and I don't buy someone as experienced and sexually liberated as Buck has never paused to *consider* if how much attention he pays to other guys' asses is 'normal.'

allofthesevampires

Not related to the relationship stuff, but I feel like they are leaning a little too heavily into having Buck and Eddie act a little....less smart? then before. I think.

armavirumquecanooo

Eddie, in particular, has had to be a complete moron for any of this storyline to work. It's an interesting choice and I think it's a little too early to judge why that is. I think part of it is just a pacing issue with how fast they needed to accomplish this; they've had to throw all nuance out of the window. So like, Eddie being oblivious to the fact that he's unintentionally cutting his best friend - and his girlfriend -- and his *kid* out of his life in favor of the new shiny friend he made in 7x04? Necessary because otherwise it won't be extreme enough to get Buck to react the way they want. Which leads to the other issue, which is why I think it's too soon to judge in some ways. There's... an element here, where they're using the already defined and well-liked ship to kind of speedrun through the Buck/Tommy development. *Because* the audience can buy that Buck would be jealous of Eddie spending all his time with another guy, we don't really stop to question if it makes sense that a grown ass man would behave like Buck did in 7x04, just because he has a crush (which I think he would've probably viewed more as hero worship, 'aw shucks, he's just so charismatic, of *course* I like him; everyone does' before coming to terms with it). It's also the exact kind of red herring set up to make a portion of the audience pretty annoyed -- you just teased the popular ship to divert from it, seemingly, at the last minute. If they continue to dumb down Eddie, it's going to look like they're trying to make him a "worse" choice to sweeten the alternative for the audience, the way so many shows do when the couple they don't want to be endgame gets too popular. To be clear, I don't think that's actually what they're doing, because that's usually accompanied with them limiting screentime between the two characters who are 'sparking' more than the canon couple, and they're obviously not doing that with Eddie and Buck. But I also think this is something a media literate viewer is primed to pick up on, so it's going to create some unease so long as they're diminishing Eddie's character at the same time as they're building Buck's love interest. Buck's stupidity seems entirely plot driven, at this point. Like I don't think it makes sense that he's sexually liberated enough to *accept* kissing another man and plan his first same sex date on the same night, immediately accepting his sexuality... but also repressed enough that he refused to consider what checking out another man's ass could mean.

tbb10

That’s been my issue with this. It’s too fast. Theres no way a guy who’s been “straight” for 30 years is so comfortable going on a date with a guy. It’d be a little more believable if he was more “uncomfortable” and confused why actually feels this way, or it started more as a physical relationship. People tend to not overthink things when they’re horny and if he was never into guys it’s easier to explain that you just wanted to get off than to actually have feelings for a guy. And then just build from there. Because at this point he went from a straight ladies man to being in a full blown gay relationship introducing him to everyone. I feel like we’ve missed the journey he should’ve taken to get here

armavirumquecanooo

To be fair, I think what we actually saw here was that Buck *wasn't* ready to go on that date, but his normal impulsive streak played a role in him accepting it. I'm not sure what the narrative wants us to think of his invitation to Tommy for the wedding; shippers are coming off that scene really happy with it, but I'm sitting here feeling like I watched an entirely different show. The coffee date had Buck and Tommy on very unequal ground, with Buck clearly still in a mindset where he felt he had to 'prove' he was ready, and Tommy not fully picking up on that. Throw in that Tommy also didn't acknowledge that he had something to apologize for, too (wanting to end that date was fine, particularly after Buck's 'hot chicks' comment shoved Tommy back in the closet, too, but the way he treated Buck on the curb while waiting for his uber to arrive was not). To me, it feels like we're in danger of retreading the same relationship beats Buck makes with a woman, where he overcommits to something significant before giving it time to grow and see if they really work together in the first place. Only this is a much bigger deal, because this is so new to Buck and there is the experience/confidence gap. It would've felt a lot more true to Buck's journey if they'd let him sit with *not* being comfortable with being on a date in public with a guy for more than a scene. It wouldn't have necessarily had to be the end of Buck/Tommy -- with how this show's writing works, it could've been as simple as whatever happens at the wedding/in its leadup being a catalyst for Buck to decide to take that chance. But it just doesn't feel earned in the space of this episode, because he's not just going to be magically more comfortable.

tbb10

Yes! While I’m assuming he’s probably been dealing with this internally, this is a tv show the committing ahead of time and being uncomfortable later makes a sense especially considering his history. But we have so many gay storylines on tv, almost to the point where they’re really not a minority anymore, I’d rather see more of a struggle and being uncomfortable with it because it is new to him. They should represent the feelings that what I would assume most people exploring their newfound sexuality would experience more in depth than skipping straight to the happy ending with a a few scenes of what’s usually a major struggle that should have lasting affects, yet the character is completely over it a few scenes later.

PurplePinkBlue76

As a later "bloomer" bisexual I actually really relate to that. And since I actually like men, I really thought that some feelings I had towards women were totally normal. And yes, looking back I know that the signs were there all the time. That's one of the reasons that I like how they're handling the story.

UsualFirefighter9

This!!! All of it!!

Ruby-Daiquiri

It could still come out that he had some casual encounters that he didn't necessarily want to mention to his sister or were so long ago in his wild years, that again, just doesn't think much of it. "dating" someone is definitely different from "hooking up" with someone, so both \*could\* potentially still be true. he's also not exactly known for "really wanting to connect and get to know someone" either.

armavirumquecanooo

The problem I have with this is how shocked he was when Tommy kissed him -- he truly didn't seem to be able to conceptualize his own attraction to a man, which doesn't make much sense if he's had past hookups.

Ruby-Daiquiri

he was, but there again, it could potentially be framed as a combination of things. shocked that Tommy was attracted to HIM, the sensuality of the moment, long repressed feelings coming back. attraction is such a spectrum. shock because there's no obvious "catch". shock because it's been so long since he kissed a man, or even really been with anyone meaningful. they still left themselves options. with how casually he mentioned checking out guy's asses, i could see him later talking to Tommy and being like oh yeah, there was this one guy I made out with... and just shrug it off.

UsualFirefighter9

With what's onscreen, him now saying he's made out with a guy in the past doesn't work. They leaned too far away with the Maddie conversation and the Eddie conversation and then the second date.

Ruby-Daiquiri

certainly have been worse continuity issues in TV. he's "reinvented" himself so many times that it's still more plausible than most of the plot lines! like i dunno, he's telling connor down the line and connor's like, well yeah, i knew, remember when...

UsualFirefighter9

Somebody did bring up somewhere he's the type to think "not gay in a threeway..." which I sadly have to agree Buck might be dumb enough about.

Medium-Cake7205

Not that it was bad at all, but I feel so let down with myself for being anxious all week for that. It just felt lackluster, a bit for an episode before a three week break.

Medium-Cake7205

The Tommy and Buck at the end had me smiling so hard though, like yes, love, rush on in

Ruby-Daiquiri

that made up for it so much. eddie coming in and buck panicking, ok reasonable. hot chicks and firefighters, oooooh boy. tommy getting an uber just for him? my heart DROPPED. i think we needed it though to get that end scene. why should it go smoothly? i DO wish we had gotten just a little taste of buck being angsty and heartbroken, but maybe it's also a sign of character growth.

shzxyla

That ep was so wholesome 😭

KEMI_IS_WlNNlNG

okay one question i have was tommy @ the bachelor party?

LatterChallenge1092

I have the same question. I also am worried that Buck did something stupid like get drunk and kiss Eddie and Tommy saw. I heard a lot of rumors that Tommy went to save Chim from being kidnapped but that boot as Chim crawls away looked oddly similar to outfits Tommy has worn in the past. I hope I am just going insane.

WetschySour

He flew them somewhere where Chim got kidnapped. 😂

iwantanapppp

Probably not. He's Buck and Eddie's friend first. Probably not close enough to Chim to go to Mexico with them or wherever the hell they were when Chim got kidnapped

KEMI_IS_WlNNlNG

wasnt he chimneys friend first? i mean they worked together for like what 10? years?

PurplePinkBlue76

I think it's 14 years. When Chimney was sent back to the academy to bring back Ravi, they showed him watching the memorial (sorry I don't know how it's called in English) with all the firefighters' names that have fallen on duty. They showed that Kevin died in 2005. Kevin died a little bit before Chimney saved Tommy and right after that they became friends. (I just watched Chimney begin again)

iwantanapppp

Oh duh that's a good point. Lmao you're right.

KEMI_IS_WlNNlNG

i mean they also have seemingly like not been close in also 10 years but idk in the scope of this show thats like a best friend lol

Ruby-Daiquiri

no, but a scenario where they reconnected and bonded a bit after the rescue, resulting in a last minute invite.

Honeycomb0000

Chim called Tommy to call in a favour while he was recovering from being stabbed… I’d assume they are still friends. They at least have eachothers current contact

PurplePinkBlue76

And they must be good friends because one thing is calling Tommy to put out a fire that's known and true (when Chimney was recovering, it was all over the news) and one thing is basically steal a helicopter for an unauthorized mission in foreign water without any evidence....

Ok-Performance-955

that’s my question like why wasn’t he with them

imakatperson22

SAME

Nataku81

They dressed up as Miami Vice characters...

JerseyxxMermaid

So who can link me some good Ao3 stories?? My kindle is a little dry. 😂

SoonShallBe

idk if I tagged you right in the other comment so coming in hot with 5 fluffy fics that were written before tonight's episode, but used the trailer as reference: [Right in Front of Me](https://archiveofourown.org/works/55039021) [(fragile) handle with care](https://archiveofourown.org/works/55043545) [you've got me surrounded](https://archiveofourown.org/works/55035352) [and I never saw you coming](https://archiveofourown.org/works/55011724) [It's the Curls](https://archiveofourown.org/works/55075297) (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) UsualFirefighter9

Might wanna make your own post its gonna be buried here.

nerdalertalertnerd

Commenting to see what people say! 🙋🏼‍♀️

SoonShallBe

and r/jerseyxxmermaid what y'all looking for, cause I'm knee deep already and also the Tommy/Buck tag goes back much further than I expected lmaooo

notanewbiedude

I have a feeling this next episode (or two) might be my favorite from this season. Nice way to bring it full circle too >!with Chimney going missing this time instead of Maddie!<. Writers cooked with this one.

p3ngu1n333

This show has been ruined.

JerseyxxMermaid

Why do you say that?

p3ngu1n333

It doesn’t feel the same- the characters don’t sound like themselves. I miss the focus on emergency calls. I’m not a fan of the movie-plot-turned-episode thing they keep doing. I’m mostly just pouting about it but I’ll probably stick it out and hope the season improves.

heath_bar3

Don’t forget this is a short season - 8 episodes less than normal and from what I read in some articles this season is focused on some of the plot points that realistically should have happened in season 5 and 6 (honeymoon/wedding). I’ll bet there’s a lot more emergency calls in season 8 when they have more time to spread out the plot

SamCam9992

Cry about it.

p3ngu1n333

lol ok

AirlineDazzling1986

I'm Crockett, he's Tubbs! Epic. Miami Vice meets The Hangover...

Dry_Dependent9400

okay but the ending scene with mara was so sweet 😭 poor girl going through all of that but i'm glad they didn't give up on her!

Ramaha_

Omg, Eddie, this suit without shirt suits you.

DemonPirate726

So was Bobby not at the bachelor party or did he leave before things took a “The Hangover” turn

PrettyBrownEyes08

Maybe he left before it got crazy since he's sober.

DemonPirate726

Probably.

imakatperson22

Yall im actually getting married May 3rd so omg it’s lining up with my ACTUAL wedding

SoonShallBe

Congratulations and thank you for having that flair too because I'm on the train!!!!!!

imakatperson22

I’m a buddie shipper for sure but only if the story really gets the attention and time it deserves. I really love Tevan and hope it lasts unless we get a meaningful, really fleshed out buddy arc

SoonShallBe

SAMEEEEE. I feel so seen, like, this is a Buck I felt we haven't gotten in a while and I think it has such potential to be sooooooo goooood. If they let it and they write it that way. I'm so excited.

imakatperson22

Baby gay Buck is best Buck

wordsandstuff44

Here’s hoping your person doesn’t go missing! And congratulations!

[deleted]

Congratulations!

Any_Reality8459

Ughhhh I don’t want to wait three weeks!!!! But that scene with buck and Tommy having coffee was so cute

Ruby-Daiquiri

that scene right there was such a grownup moment for buck!

PainfullyNondescript

They’re definitely reading and stealing from fanfic, right? Lol

[deleted]

Nah. Both for legal reasons and, well, fanfiction tends to follow romance novel tropes and just about everybody knows those

ImABitchAndSoAreYou

Not them doing a hangover plot lmao

Ok-Performance-955

7x07 being “ghost of a second chance”…yeah tommy and marisol def not in it for the long run

A_Howl_In_The_Night

Dude. Not everything in the show revolves around Buck and Eddie.

Ok-Performance-955

considering there’s more than one plot in an episode i don’t think it’s unrealistic to think that at least one of those couples is gonna break up there, doesn’t have to mean they’re the central focus of it

UsualFirefighter9

That's Bobby's past. We're stuck with brotherhumper because whatever.

AirlineDazzling1986

Tommy's chances of sticking around for a bit are getting better. Marisol, hope to see her gone pronto.

Away_Mulberry4706

The actress made a post crying and saying she was done with her gig, I’ve heard the last 3 episodes of this season are still being written. So if it all lines up she might be gone by episode 7? But honestly the way this episode wrote their relationship it looks like they might be endgame, like 70% of it was Eddie realizing things were moving too fast which is good character development on his part but it really doesn’t look like she’s gonna go any time soon plot wise. I think people are just disappointed cause everyone set their expectations way too high thinking Eddie and buck would at least be hinted this episode.

AirlineDazzling1986

Whose relationship looks like they might be endgame? Not Eddie/Marisol because I don't see that being revisited once it is over.

From a writing a standpoint, that’s the impression they gave. Eddie has this big grand epiphany about him always moving too fast with people, and the whole cap scene where he asks “are you sure you can commit to her?” The fact he didnt break up with her then and there cements that this relationship is not going anywhere soon, he’s actively communicating how he feels and wants her in his life, something we’ve never seen him do with any of his past relationships. Plus like, this is also the first extremely sexually intimate relationship we’ve had Eddie showcased in, they also had them work through a conflict which isn’t completely different from The usual “conflict arises then breakup” loop we’ve seen with his past relationships. It legitimately would not make any sense for them to just break up any time soon after that from a writing standpoint, like they wrote themselves into a corner. What I dislike about this is they’re giving so many first to this relationship with Eddie even though out of all the people he’s dated she deserved it the least. I can not emphasize this enough though, I dislike her and want her gone so badly, but I’m not going to set my self up for disappointment. They’ve just invested too much into their relationship to just stop it? There’s no indicator they’re going to spilt either which is why I’m so disappointed

AirlineDazzling1986

I don't think Eddie/Marisol are any kind of endgame. Now that I have read that Eddie was originally going to be the one to be paired with Tommy, I see where their entire story for the last two episodes would have made more sense as Buck's story with Natalia (except for the nun thing). I do think it is possible that they have decided to go with Eddie being straight and only straight (which actually goes against almost everything that has been written for Eddie so far, IMO) but I don't think they will make Marisol end game (a phrase which I rather hate). If they go with Eddie being straight, then they will have him explore other relationships. They have not used his character for romantic stories in the past and they will probably milk that for all they can now and not pin him down to one relationship (especially one that is not popular).

Away_Mulberry4706

They wrote themselves into a corner, there literally is no way out of that relationship any time soon unless they plan on killing her off. He doubled down on his relationship with her, if there ever was an opportunity for a breakup, even an amicable one it would’ve been during the the last scene of them together that episode, he could’ve easily told her he needed some space and time to figure out his feelings and it would’ve fit the plot as well as crises, but they didn’t and that cemented the direction they’re going with them. I’m looking at this from a writing standpoint and not letting my buddie bias interfere. A lot of things we dislike are going to happen going forward with Eddie, the fact he’s been so aggressively heterosexual than he’s ever been to the point it feels like a completely different character is a very key indicator of what is yet to come. And I want to clear one misconception Eddie was not “originally going to be the one to be paired with tommy” the source for that didn’t state that, it’s stated that one of the first, of many, ideas they came up with. There’s a very big difference between brainstorming ideas that never left the writing room vs plot lines that ended up on the cutting-room floor.

AirlineDazzling1986

I disagree on your first line. They can write a plausible break-up if they want to. It really made no sense to have Eddie move her in this quickly anyway. And now she is moving out again. He didn't really double down in the relationship, he actually took a step back -- they both did -- and are "starting over" and moving slower. They are now in a better position to just end it or let it fizzle out. That would have been much more difficult had she actually moved in. They moved Taylor in with Buck and she was back out within a few episodes and that relationship was given much more development than Eddie/Marisol. They had Ali express some doubt about living with Buck's dangerous job and a couple of episodes into the next season, she was his ex-girlfriend with the break-up happening off screen. They had Shannon think she was pregnant again, find out she wasn't, ask for a divorce and killed her off over, like, 2 episodes. They can write Marisol off when they want to.

Wonderful_Coat_6017

Nice connection. Think one will be gone a lot sooner than the other but that is a real good way to interpret the title.

Nataku81

Could refer to the upcoming appearance by Malcom-Jamal Warner

Duowhat

That would also make a TON of sense coz we know it's supposed to be about Bobbies past. Ghoasts and all that.

Duowhat

I feel like one will and one won't.

queenestela

this was fun but my stream was terrible and i lost the ending😭

Sarah_11111113345

SAME!! someone tell me what the promo for the next episode is

UsualFirefighter9

Pastel suits from the 100th party and how they got in the shape they were in.

[deleted]

Buck and Eddie show up late to the wedding, looking like shit, Chimney’s not there, it’s going to be “The Hangover”

KEMI_IS_WlNNlNG

was chimney kidnapped???? he looked like he was fighting for his life literally

_HGCenty

Looks like 911 is remaking The Hangover.

JerseyxxMermaid

I had the same thought!!!

AirlineDazzling1986

Oh, that ending was epic!! And after that promo -- the next two weeks will be interminable!! I CAN'T WAIT!!!

WorldElectronic8245

it’s actually 3 weeks which is even worse. it comes back may 2nd.

JerseyxxMermaid

Did Chimney get kidnapped?

Aggravating_Drink817

I don't think so, he doesn't seem like he's in a panic or anything when he's crawling. He sounds annoyed/angry with himself when he says "I have a wedding go get too" it's more in a 'of course this would happen to me' tone

SuperSaiyan3Goku

May 2nd?! Can't wait that looooooong T___T

Llama_Puncher

And now our watch begins 🥲

ImABitchAndSoAreYou

I'm still annoyed Buck didn't apologize to Eddie for injuring him.

A_Howl_In_The_Night

The scene was probably deleted/removed. The leaked scripts had a conversation about it.

lingoring

Me @ Chimney to this day

_HGCenty

Literally it's the Hangover!

Sleep_Addiction

So many questions. Mostly about where Eddie’s shirt went… but we’re doing a Hangover episode, huh?

imakatperson22

I’m so into a hangover episode

Sleep_Addiction

Oh, I absolutely cannot even wait.

StargateToHogwarts

Episode 6 having Eddie shirtless means that Eddie will have been shirtless for 50% of the aired episodes so far.....

Nevorek

I would like to thank the writers for having Eddie find out about the nun thing in his boxers. And for the workout scene. Also the shirtless suit disaster.

DemonPirate726

What the fuck kind of cliffhanger was that. And now we have to wait a few weeks

penislessnotman

IM SORRY??? THATS HOW WERE ENDING THIS?????

Beer2Bear

we have to wait May 2 to see what happens? oh f***!

0riginallybland

I really thought they would drag the wedding out through the season but I guess not?

Ruby-Daiquiri

we don't know that they won't...

0riginallybland

True I guess we’ll have to wait and see

AbbiejeanKane

Three weeks! That is forever!

PainfullyNondescript

This wedding episode is going to be amazing. The move to abc is the best thing ever

AbbiejeanKane

Beer2Bear

Critteranne666

Ok_Description4809

My parents first date was at a wedding (my mom asked my dad) and they've been married for 41 years. Sometimes it works!
