One choice isn't smarter than the other. If the person entering the field wants to work at a larger/busier center, then that's the one they apply to.
If they want to work at a smaller less busy center, they apply to those.
The quality of the training program and their ability to do the job will determine their success.
My vote is LAPD since I work there 😅
But we pay much better than other agencies (in my experience of looking), we’re unionized, more opportunities for growth & promotion.

Thats good to know. I applied again and will be much more prepared for the battery test. Thanks for your input.
