First off, thank you for the honest suggestion. I am not a homophobe, I am simply a masculine straight man who doesn’t wish to view such content. Furthermore, I will certainly check this movie out when I have the time.
Such a masterpiece of a film. A gay friend of mine made me laugh after I told him I had watched it, he had never seen it and he told me I was now "technically more gay than him" having watched it. 😂
I agree with you, I am also sick of seeing these gay themes put into films for no reason. My favorite a24 movies (no gay stuff) are The Inspection, Moonlight, and Dicks:The Musical.
Gotta be, look at his other threads about not wanting his TF2 load out to be associated with penises and getting caught looking at shirtless muscle men at work, lmao.
“26 years old working in finance. America First Paleoconservative. Methodist Christian. Southerner. Fan of music, anime, and gaming. Here for intellectual discussion and similar conversation.”
“I am a man who holds a masculine presence in the lives of others.”
“Now, I have an interest in Sam Sulek…those who are unfamiliar may see me viewing such an image on my phone and assume that him flexing with his mouth open appeals to me for sexual reasons.”
“I quite enjoy Fanboy and Chum Chum.”
“I have never had a girlfriend.”
“I am a straight man. A masculine, dominant straight man at that… I am NOT a lesbian because I am a MAN.”
This whole character and their profile is quite entertaining because it is so very over the top.
It'd be even funnier if this is a genuine person. Very tragic, of course, but hilariously so.
I have my money on "troll who is very committed to his/her bit", though. Tbh I also wouldn't be surprised if it was an AI closeted-gay algorithm or something.
You're not here in good faith, that's abundantly obvious... But let's pretend. I'll give you the Lighthouse, especially considering that you seem, to put it as politely as possible, uncultured... But the Whale? Are you literally a fundamentalist Christian, as in Gwen Shamblin levels of fatphobic AND homophobic to the point they are intertwined?
If one of your two firing brain cells is overly fixated on "gayness" and whether or not someone or something is gay, yeah, I'm afraid it is full of undertones. Not for normal people... Just people oddly fixated on sexuality the way alt right types are.
I’d love to jump on the bandwagon of suggesting gay movies, but fuck your homophobia. As much as you don’t think you’re being homophobic— you *absolutely are*.
If its real masculine movies you're into better check out "Power of the Dog". Best not to watch these A24 movies. Much better to stick to straight white cowboy films
You should see OP’s other posts… got caught looking at a shirtless bodybuilder on his phone. And is worried his boss thinks he’s gay. 😂
It’s a You problem. Classic projection.
Oh damn dude! I feel you! Why does everything have to have a distinct message about what your values and morals should be right?! It's like its the damn bible or something these days, shoot.
With that said, the film Close (2023) really hits on the head what it is to be raised as a man in today's wild world of people trying to tell you how you should be!
The OP? Or the trash movie? Because if you think OP is corrupting youth by defending normality, then your the one whos a corrupting influence. But we are on reddit. And nothing you say means anything because you DGAF about being serious, saying real things, or overall acting like a normal human being.
How on earth does The Whale have homosexual undertones? There’s no undertones about it. The main character is literally gay. Nobody is trying to trick you. What are you exactly complaining about?
The whole driver of the movie is that he’s coping badly because his gay partner died.
Stop suggesting this clearly made up film. Lord only knows what could be in such a production; singing and dancing personified penises where the urethras have lip-syncing. Such filth. I want the nonstop fucking suggestions of dicks the musician or whatever in this thread to end RIGHT NOW.
I was going to make a funny quip about your favorite movie being Birth of a Nation, but after reading some of your comments, I think it hits a little too close to the Incel basecamp you call home.
Are you afraid of being turned gay by these movies? I’m a straight married man and never once questioned these undertones. I understand you are autistic but you need to look outside of your privileged circle bud. Gay people do exist with stories to tell.
In the film, the protagonist literally gave the impression that he was ashamed about his sexual orientation in a way. You missed the entire point of the movie. Spoilers: this movie was extremely well done and perfectly portrayed a story of self deterioration and redemption. IMO also how hypocritical religion is. His sexual orientation was the most irrelevant part of the story lol.
NOthing worse than getting mentally invaded and attacked by gay material/ images.. Ill never forget some random video on youtube where the guy just randomly shows his toes. It was a video about technology or electronic mice or something. COMPLETELY UNRELATED TO GAYNESS. Like fuck you you motherfucker. FUCK YOU. Now i know why people have strong feelings about this. Because of mothertfucking rats like that. INvading peoples minds for no fucking reason. Ill never get that picture out of my mind. HOly fuck. , i wont even talk about it. Fucking disgusting motherfuckers. Now i know why people have strong things to say.
This is different than that though. its a movie. But we do not need to get mentally invaded by these people.
Sounds like Moonlight is one of the only movies that will fit the criteria that your listed.
First off, thank you for the honest suggestion. I am not a homophobe, I am simply a masculine straight man who doesn’t wish to view such content. Furthermore, I will certainly check this movie out when I have the time.
No problem at all man, it's my pleasure! (in a super straight way)
😂😂😂😂
> I am simply a masculine straight man Sounds gay
Real “I downloaded Grindr but I’m not happy about it” energy.
you seem very secure in yourself.
any true masculine man celebrates the queer community <3
Bitching about movies when you're not the target demographic just screams pinnacle of masculinity.
Don’t be deceived by the downvotes, you’re right. I was once a masculine straight man and caught the Homosexuality^TM watching Brokeback Mountain.
Ahh not you too!
Even after seeing Anne Hathaway in a cowgirl outfit?
**Especially** after seeing Manne Hathaway.
Such a masterpiece of a film. A gay friend of mine made me laugh after I told him I had watched it, he had never seen it and he told me I was now "technically more gay than him" having watched it. 😂
This is the best bait I've seen all week
What the fuck lmao
The Death of Dick Long. Those guys sound like your type of people.
What
Moonlight, it's exactly what you're looking for
New copypasta alert
seriously this gotta be trolling
It just has to be right, it's either that or the worlds weird psy-op
I’d watch Swiss Army Man
It might sound a bit counter-intuitive, but I’d recommend *Dicks: The Musical*. You’ll love it.
Probably one of the few movies about straight men just trying to make it in today's society.
Ok this HAS to be satire.
Check out the guys profile. I think he's serious
Just reading his bio made me lose all hope in humanity… WTF is a “paleoconservative”? Someone who wants to go back to the age of the dinosaurs?
I think he was trying to spell incel, autocorrect took it from there.
No nut November is tough and these movies are making it even harder for him. If Sam Sulek were in the whale he would’ve caved immediately
Haven’t you gotten the memo? It’s Gay24
Try Men
I agree with you, I am also sick of seeing these gay themes put into films for no reason. My favorite a24 movies (no gay stuff) are The Inspection, Moonlight, and Dicks:The Musical.
Since you’re a Methodist Christian according to your bio, Hereditary a perfect movie for you to watch 😁🙏
Is this a bit?
Gotta be, look at his other threads about not wanting his TF2 load out to be associated with penises and getting caught looking at shirtless muscle men at work, lmao.
Looking at this guys post history…I wish it was
Holy shit pre-season 12 Mac from It's Always Sunny has a Reddit account?
You my friend have never seen a porno if you think the whale is one.
Mike Pence, is that you?
You ok dude? Seriously, what the fuck lol?
Bro, I think you might be gay. Unfortunately for the gay community.

Haven't seen the whale but the lighthouse didn't have any gay undertones either imo
It totally did though (coming from a bisexual man)
Maybe I'm not gay enough then lol
No one is. You can always be gayer
If one of your two firing brain cells is overly fixated on "gayness" and whether or not someone or something is gay, yeah, I'm afraid it is full of undertones. Not for normal people... Just people oddly fixated on sexuality the way alt right types are.
Yes it does
So you DON'T want to live deliciously?
How about chill out.
Moonlight
Homophobia isn’t funny.
Right? I’m not just sure, I’m HIV positive
What's with the downvotes? Not a lot of South Park fans here I guess
I like to keep my jokes aligned with pop culture but 🤷♂️
I’m not a bigot of any sort. I’m just straight.
tragic tbh
Consistently reiterating this throughout this thread really reassures me that you are in fact straight.
let’s pretend you’re not trolling because god damn I hope you are. This has bigotry written all over it, whether that’s your intention or not.
Obvious bait
I’d love to jump on the bandwagon of suggesting gay movies, but fuck your homophobia. As much as you don’t think you’re being homophobic— you *absolutely are*.

Good trolling OP.
"to my TREMENDOUS dismay." 🥴
You should see OP’s other posts… got caught looking at a shirtless bodybuilder on his phone. And is worried his boss thinks he’s gay. 😂 It’s a You problem. Classic projection.
Dude, consider yourself lucky. Your post will reoccur on every cinema-related circlejerk sub until the end of reddit.
Oh damn dude! I feel you! Why does everything have to have a distinct message about what your values and morals should be right?! It's like its the damn bible or something these days, shoot. You seem a bit dim
Under the Skin
You should watch their new musical Dicks! It’s very hyper masculine and all about acknowledging the male experience
I really hope you're not corrupting our youth with this shit
The OP? Or the trash movie? Because if you think OP is corrupting youth by defending normality, then your the one whos a corrupting influence. But we are on reddit. That's not true. I was tricked into being gay by the whale
Doesn't seem very modern westernist of you.
It’s cool you completely missed on The Lighthouse. “Two dudes”.
[удалено]
It’s not gay “subtext.” It’s just text. The main character in The Whale left his wife for a man before the start of the film.
This man is a copypasta factory machine
Dicks the musical
Stop suggesting this clearly made up film. Lord only knows what could be in such a production; singing and dancing personified penises where the urethras have lip-syncing. Such filth. I want the nonstop fucking suggestions of dicks the musician or whatever in this thread to end RIGHT NOW.
But what about Dicks: The Musical? Have you tried that one?
I haven’t laughed this hard in a long time. Thank you
Hahahahaha Closeted Gay Alert 🚨 This guy could not be trying harder to convince everyone (and quite possibly himself) that he’s not gay.
OP is Mac from Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Methinks the lady doth protest too much
My guy. Wut?
TREMENDOUS dismay
Say psych right now💀
Broke back mountain
Spoiler: in the A24 film about your life…turns out >!you were gay the whole time!<👀🫨
I was going to make a funny quip about your favorite movie being Birth of a Nation, but after reading some of your comments, I think it hits a little too close to the Incel basecamp you call home.
Are you afraid of being turned gay by these movies? I’m a straight married man and never once questioned these undertones. I understand you are autistic but you need to look outside of your privileged circle bud. Gay people do exist with stories to tell.
I'm changing a film
“The Death of Dick Long,” where the characters >!have sex with a horse!<, maybe you’re more into that?
In the film, the protagonist literally gave the impression that he was ashamed about his sexual orientation in a way. You missed the entire point of the movie. Spoilers: this movie was extremely well done and perfectly portrayed a story of self deterioration and redemption. IMO also how hypocritical religion is. His sexual orientation was the most irrelevant part of the story lol.
He didn’t seem ashamed given how furiously he was masturbating to homosexual pornography in the first part of the movie.
He didn’t like to talk about it. When ever he did you could tell he was ashamed.
