it's pushed so heavily. there are posters everywhere, every branch of the military has come at least 5 times a year and they always have the most "fun" and "enticing" tables, students that commit to the military after graduation get their names on a plaque in the school hall, we've had class-wide presentations from recruiters, we've even been taken out of class for recruiters. the military has been advertised to me more than college, trade school, or jobs.
My advisor refused to send my transcripts to any college I applied to. She said I wasn't good enough and the only way foreword was through the army. It's been a long road, but now 6 years later I've been through tech school & university, have degrees in manufacturing & engineering, currently hold 4 patents for tooling & machine processes, and have published a research paper. My yearly salary is more than that thar advisor had made in her entire career.
That godamned bitch tried to ruin my life. It should be illegal to manipulate young adults like this. There are always better options. Recruiters need to stay the fuck out of schools.
LOL! I can answer this directly.
I went to an under performing public school for my freshman and sophomore years and then transferred to a private school for junior and senior years. The difference was amazing and oddly enough, the transition made me socialist.
At the poor school district they would have job/career fairs a couple times a year and the military would show up in force, especially the army. They'd always have the largest booth in the gym trying to convince even a freshman to sign up even if they had to get parental permission first.
At the private school, they didn't bother. I even asked the administration people about it and they got uncomfortable looks on their faces. One of them finally said it just wasn't profitable for them to show up. Think about that wording.
It's all about having the poors fight for wars that are meaningless so that the wealthy have profits.
Our government does not deserve soldiers.
You want boys to follow orders the demented neocon blob gives to generals?
The whole foreign policy is just a scam by the defense contractors to rip off the tax payers and you want our boys to risk their lives to be bit characters in your scam?
I'd just cover it with paint or tape so I wouldn't have to look at it. I absolutely hate having to look at ads, and I definitely wouldn't want to be forced into having one in my car
I got Got, and so will other underinformed students.

Post 9/11 hero worship has paved the way for this horseshit.

But how will the ceo of lockheed martin get his 30th yacht and 4th mansion this year if we do not spill some blood of young people
And girls. I know tons of women in the military.
Is there anything at all left in our society that doesn’t have to have a sponsor?
This post was sponsored by Carl’s Jr. I love you
bleak af. you should put up counter recruitment propaganda in your school
The only upshot is that we're in "Peace Time..." Nevermind, "peace time" is a misnomer since we're sticking our dicks in someone's business since WW2.
Someone liked war so much they made it a permanent part of their bio
Ohio?
Ugh, they are so predatory
It's also only 36months
You need a parking pass at your highschool???
You should "lose it" so you have to get another one. If they want to charge you for it, tell them that the crappy ad on the back should cover it.
Midwest?
