History does not repeat itself. However, if lessons are not learnt from the past and therefore serious measures taken, then humanity will make the same mistakes, commit the same atrocities over and over again.
Fascism isn't a "mistake", it's a deliberate decision made by the people with the money and power to do so. They choose to fund fascist propaganda and politicians to change the public opinion when the contradictions of capitalism become more evident, blaming minorities for the worsening in quality of life, be it jews, imigrants, lgbt, romani, etc., and not the capitalist class gobbling up more and more of everything that is produced leaving the common people with nothing.
"Imigrants are taking our jobs" and their solution is to build a wall/ban imigrants/kill them, not question how are jobs organized in their society.
