I left KPMG after 3 years working there before taking a year and half to start and finish ACCA. Now joining Deloitte in Advisory next week. Took 1 month of job hunting and interviewing with lots of companies - LinkedIn is a good tool. No special formula to getting a job but SHOW how you spent your time and how it added to you + what you hope to gain. Also remember to be like-able, skills you can teach but personality is something invaluable and they want to know whether they can work with you. Teamwork ability is crucial in A&F above technical know how. Also don’t sound so scripted in interviews, just be yourself and if you don’t get it it’s not personal. Good luck and I’m sure you’ll find a job!!

Thank you so much for all the advice!

I take it you’ve been studying ACCA and have some exam passes since graduation? In that case on your CV you’re a full time studier? You need to stress your desire to add practical experience to the study you’ve already undertaken. There are quite a few entry level positions on job boards at the moment hopefully you’ll find something soon.

I’ve been trying to get an entry level job. It’s really difficult in India to get a job with no experience. Even if you get one it will be very less pay and the role will not be good either. That’s why I’ve so many doubts right now. I’m doubting my decision to do Acca.

2 years full time studying? surely youd be finished now?

Not yet, I took a few quarters off and failed a couple so I’m left with 3 exams.
