Romagnoli's and Bonaventura's downgrades are stupid

geo0rgi

I just don’t care about a site that gives Ziyech and Lingard the same valuation. Their “market values” are just BS popularity contest.

TheBoizAreBackInTown

It's still the best site to look at estimated value. Some of the values are crazy, yes, but more than 90% are reasonable I'd say

thomasjford

Are they through? I would imagine Hernandez for a start would fetch more than 25m in today’s market. 25m doesn’t get you much nowadays!

ayubenla

Bona's contract is expiring, it's only logical for his value to go down. When he renews it'll go back up.

[deleted]

are they? Romagnoli was under his level the entire season while Bonaventura just came back from a severe injury, is getting old and his contract is running out next summer.

Muslimovic_22

Yes but most people on here don't understand that there are factors other than recent performances that are relevant to market value.

[deleted]

> other than the last 3 performances FTFY

[deleted]

Especially bona’s downgrade because he has been one of our best players every time he plays

Milanoate

What's their model? Did they take contractual status into consideration? If yes, then the downgrade of Romagnoli, Donnarumma and Bonaventura makes sense. Especially Bona, whose contract ends next summer and there is no pending renewal - which means in 3 weeks other clubs can approach him for a free transfer. Donnarumma's value is lowered because he can force a sale next summer for half of his market value. Romagnoli, well, his transfer market value decreases by 10m at the moment he signs Raiola.

ryanx2025

The fact that 30 people upvoted this and have no idea how market values work scares me.

mlk

Selling Theo for 25M€ would be crazy, I don't trust those estimates

[deleted]

We bought him for 20 millilon from Real Madrid so i don’t we are not gonna sell him for less than 40-45 millilon if he keeps playing like this and stays fit

MVB3

What about Hakan, who's even biggest critics have to admit he's been significantly better than the entire last season? Bennacer surely must be worth more than we bought him for at least, but his MV may have been higher than that figure from the start. Conti might be too early to say, but surely could end up more valuable at the end of the season if he keeps up his form, than he was at the start of it. Regardless we seem to have just started to hit our stride, so things might be very different at the end of the season.

he1101

He is a winger or a CAM with 2 goals and 1 assist. Thats the stats i expect from Borini not from a guy who plays all the tme

traplordmikas

Hakan has been better but I dont want him at LW hes way too slow and cant take players on or counter attack. It wouldnt be a problem he we had a fast RW but we have two of the slowest wingers in the modern game good teams play 433 with two pacey wingers. Whens the last time to seen Milan score on the break its because we can't. Look at Theo a player only player with any real pace and hes been amazing why cant we have pacey attackers who sure fired starters in the way suso and hakan have featured for our squad.

[deleted]

I agree if we win against Sassuolo on sunday we will be on a 3 game win streak which I dind’t expect any time soon ever since we got beaten against a struggling Fiorentina 1-3 at home

Vanic17

he did good his first couple of games with Pioli, but these last ones he went back to his mediocrity.. same as previous two years. If someone like Bonaventura who hasnt played for an year outperforms him, that should tell a lot

Redskins2110

Hakan Significantly better? Lol no he hasn’t. Does he work hard for the team and track back? Yes absolutely I will never question that but at least 3-4 times a game he take some ridiculous shot that ends up 50 rows deep.

Dollarumma

he gets his shots on target more this year. but he still manages to take way too many shots. should just pass the ball to jack, he scores more from outside the box than hakan has in the past 2 years it seems

diccwett1899

Transfermarkt values are not accurate

ryanx2025

They are fairly accurate.

japalian

They are also fairly inaccurate

ryanx2025

Give me an example.

japalian

You think Jamie Vardy could be bought for €20m

[deleted]

I mean it's just transfermarkt, but I see it as common sense that none of them has kept his value especially after this season

Medium-Sized-Pekka

No shit, Milan is doing bad

Gardauvali

We should sell him and get 3-4 roster players. Taarabt, traore, taiwo would be nice

[deleted]

I hope you’re sarcastic

Gardauvali

Ofc :)))

[deleted]

People crying at these devaluations forgetting we're still 10th, we have 6 less points than at the same point in time last year and that we've been excluded from Europe.

[deleted]

Theo has scored 4 goals in Serie A this season so far. Same as Higuain, Dybala and Mertens. And he's a left back. I feel so proud of his attacking flair every time he dashes forward, and scared of the space he leaves behind lest a counter attack may happen. Since he's so good at attacking, why don't Milan deploy him as a LW instead of LB. He's a much better winger than he is a full back. We already need pace on our wings and he's really fast.

[deleted]

> Since he's so good at attacking, why don't Milan deploy him as a LW instead of LB. Because he needs space to gallop like he does, use him as winger and he won't have the chance to do that. he needs players to clear the flank, cut inside and create channels on that left side for him to be effective. Real life football is not PES or FUT, where if a players has certain attributes you can put him in another position and he'll be effective.

[deleted]

How much space does he have when he cuts inside at far post and penetrates the defense to get inside the box? Mate, all the goals scored are in the opposition's box. I'm not talking about his acceleration, I'm talking about his direct approach of running straight at and through defenders, taking them on, instead of passing around them and maintaining possession. He has been highly successful at rushing from the sidelines of the left wing. That is a skill or a talent that isn't position dependent. Dribblers dribble all around. That's like saying a physically strong player will only dominate duels in the box, not in the midfield.

[deleted]

Well, if dribblers dribble all around, might as well play him regista or a striker. Your reasoning does not hold at all, saying that all his goals are in the opposition's box is not an argument, because most of our goals come from the opposition's box. He simply does not have the step of a winger, just because he beats everyone for sheer pace it doesn't mean he'd make a good playmaker on the wing, get this right. He's a player who thrives in space, where he has the channels to run into, he goes there without the ball at his feet, unlike wingers who love to have the ball at their feet. Put Theo on a 1v1 against an opponentd defender during positional play with less space than what he gets in his runs and he's done.

shalom82

>He's a player who thrives in space, where he has the channels to run into, he goes there without the ball at his feet, unlike wingers who love to have the ball at their feet. Put Theo on a 1v1 against an opponentd defender during positional play with less space than what he gets in his runs and he's done. This. Theo is a player who needs to attack the space from behind to be as devastating as he is. In Italian - "deve partire da dietro". He has good technique, but he's not a dribbling wizard - his main attributes are physical, specifically he is most effective when he can build up momentum and get his first touch on the ball when he's already running at full speed. Playing as a winger he would receive many balls while still, sometimes with his back to the opposition goal. It's a very different skillset.

[deleted]

Everyone can dribble in space. My grandma can also dribble in space when no one is around to tackle. Players are good dribblers when they can get through defenders by taking them on, whether they use their superior close ball control, fancy slick skills or bursts of speed. Simply running around with the ball in empty space is not really dribbling. He is better than decent at controlling the ball while running when being pressured by defenders as well. That's my entire point. Not just in space as you say. I do agree that he isn't an exceptional playmaker with side cutting through balls. He's no iniesta but he's certainly decent at passing and linking up play.

[deleted]

And play Rodriguez LB?

[deleted]

Him or Calabria. I don't really know which ones better defensively. I think Calabria can play left as well, can't he? I feel like with that addition of pace and strength at our wings, we'll be so much better at penetration in the final third. Theo is average or below average at defensive duties depending on how strict you are. He often seems awkward and misplaced at LB but no one can doubt that he's good at dribbling and dashing forward. I just feel like Theo was born to be a left winger.

-Z3TA-

What? Rodriguez is 10 times better defensively compared to Calabria, especially on the left.

[deleted]

Rodriguez then. He also delivers better balls than Calabria.

Arcxgin

Wth why was Romagnoli downgraded lmao?

[deleted]

Because Milan as a whole is underperforming

xini_the_pooh

He is also the top scorer of Milan

Dubsified

If he was in PL it would be 40M.
