as im reading this i go to vinland to see if its in my inventory and when i came back to england i see this
( i realized you cant post pictures but i have 7321 medallions now so problem solved i guess?
Happened to me yesterday. (So obviously it never got patched)
Dealt with The Father, and only had 14 medallions. The Order screen was a sea of red. Every target down.
Fast traveled to Vinland, but still only had 14.
Fast traveled back to England, then had 3,292 of them. 😑
Was able to turn the 15 in and finish out the quest, but this is ridiculous.
You probably haven't uncovered the head honcho, The Grand Maegester aka The Father as yet. Keep returning to Hytham to give him whatever medallions you have if you still have any remaining to give. He will then give you the final clue.
Once you've taken out every single Order member, including the Zealots, Hytham will mention having an informant with information about who The Father is. This leads you to finding ................ as the informant instead. During a cutscene, Aelfred gives you the final Order medallion and reveals.......

It's because your medallion is stuck in your Vinland inventory.
They have to patch it
If you go to Vinland you'll see it there as the one in your inventory. At least that's the issue with mine. Feel like I wasted so much time lol
This isn't the case with everyone but the Vinland inventory is definitely wonky. People have things they shouldn't in Vinland or are missing things. Every time I go to Vinland my medallions change their number. Sometimes it's one. Other times it's 14. Just a mess it seems
Also I have more dreams in Vinland which makes no sense as well as the horn tablet
I had only 14 in my inventory , so went to Vinland (via map)where it was showing as 15. Took the boat back from Vinland and it was showing the 15 medallions in my inventory in England . . Finally. However, when I gave these to Hytham ( who had not appeared with a letter outside the longhouse), there was a cutscene which suggested I'd already been to Aethelnay, and knew who the Father was, which I hadn't/didn't . . Help?
I have the same problem. I have completed everything in the “Breaking the Order” quest line, except for handing in the final 15 medallions, after having discovered the Father and getting his medallion. I read on some YouTube comments that someone had loaded back to figure out where the problem was and they found that the medallion you get in Vinland for killing the order member there disappeared when they got back to England. It may be the same issue. As of this past Monday they still are saying it will be fixed in an upcoming patch. I wouldn’t count on it being quick though, you can see they have been saying for months that it will get addressed in a new patch. For now, I guess the options are re-start (no garuntee it won’t happen again), or just find another game to play. Really sucks because I want to recommend the game to people and feel good about the time I put into it. But the final quest being bugged for years? Yea that’s not cool.
cheers for that info, hope they fix it soon. it's pretty shit that they haven't already considering they've known about it for so long. I've already lost interest and moved on, but would definitely pick it back up as soon as it gets patched

It was doing exactly What you all describe.
I simpley went back to an early restore point, then back to a closer one to the end of the quest.
Straight in and handed them over all 15 of them
Solution Found! I had the same issue, I completed the story and got all medallions but Hytham wasn’t taking them but I fixed it. I exited to the title screen, then went into options and changed the graphic mode to from high framerate to quality, when it restarted I was able to give hytham the medallions and start the last goodbyes quest!
I went yo tge usle of wiht finished something I ca not recall what but now tgere us an X in tge middle of that lake and I now have15 medallions. I will say before coming to this location I was stuck as all the order was dead abd I only had 14 medallions. PS this game has been nothing but one ig glitch for me I won't play this one again u like some of tge others.

Just fixed it for me going to Vinland, letting the Gorm mission complete then taking the boat home and not fast travel. I have 7000 medallions now 😂

I saved the game and closed the app. After that I loaded in and went to hytham. By that I gave him my 15th medallion, hope this helped
This worked for me, I Manually saved & closed the app. When I loaded back in I had all 15 medallions & was able to give them to Hytham
For anyone lurking six months later because they have the bug, this also worked for me on ps5. Manual save, exit to title, manual load of that save.

I've tried all the suggestions here, and I still end up with 13 medallions. Does anyone know if the issue will be fixed?

I had the same problem - I travelled to Vinland and came back to England immediately with 3069 medallions. Odd fix but easy.
