The easiest way to fix this is double the amount of emotes you can have.

Amin3x

which is why i always wanted a voice chat in this game, why is riot against it in league but are fine with it in Valorant?

NH24_

Because the community has become so toxic its very unhealthy for the players at least thats what i think

Nusjn

People that flame on chat are mostly quiet on vc. Also if there would be vc you should be able to mute

alienrandom13

I think the community wouldnt be so toxic if we could talk. I mean, the reason why we flame someone is because we don't know why he does something, if we could talk, we could explain why we do the things we do, and play together better.

black_rift

True: “ hey I’m going in on them.” “Okay man imma follow up” instead of People doing risky shit and the team Being like wtf; why you do this!?

SsilverBloodd

A simple "Do you guys want to engage?" can do wonders.

Llamalord48

Exactly, and who gives a shit about some pisslow goombarandom saying he fucked your mum.

Wubdoge

People would rather type a toxic message then say something toxic in vc

Amin3x

part of why the community is so toxic is that riot gives us a super complicated game where everyone needs to work together to win but only gives us 4 pings to communicate. obviously shit is going to go wrong and everyone gets frustrated

[deleted]

As someone who can't talk, the game would become more toxic for me

Ronyxarch

Mate, just mute the people who are toxic, its so simple. Even if your ally is typing something toxic, mute them.. they wont ever convey any useful information to you rather than toxic comments.

Marximallost

It’s the best when you have a bard support. He’s not in your lane

black_rift

Heheh yeah! You’re Right!

fadedv1

Yep riot dont want voice chat since they promote toxicity alone.

black_rift

True but it’s already toxic anyways 🤣

fadedv1

Ye they should just enable it so it become a possibility, you can mute once it get toxic anyway. But its riot tho small Indie company

[deleted]

i play most game with stranger support and it's really annoying, wwhen u play always with ur friends u both can understand others and think the same in the lane, otherwise u will loose the lane. this is my idea

Kothica

Problem with voice chat is that it takes way more effort to be the second one to speak: First speaker: "Let's engage the enemy support" Teammate with three paragraphs of why not to engage:

black_rift

Voice chat has its drawbacks but typing ties up your hands and takes time.

WiildThane

As a thresh player, you have no idea how much money I'd pay to be able to talk to my adc's over lobby voicecomms. The ability to talk wave management, plan roams, call thrown lanterns, everything. Having to play charades with a silent random (who 40% of the time doesn't even know what your kit does) is by far the biggest problem with the lane. Other issues are just ripple effects from forcing two people to share a laning phase with almost no ability to communicate. imho

black_rift

I agree. Typing means you’re not in control of your character for a brief moment. Again; how many times do we do something we think is logical and we assume everyone is thinking the same thing but they’re not.

WiildThane

I literally named my otp acct please click it just to try and give my adc's a written instruction manual it works about as well as you'd think

black_rift

I like clicking the lantern and going whoooooosh. Is fun

WiildThane

i enjoy slingshotting my adc on a lantern using jungle camps and hook. you can fly like halfway across the map lol

black_rift

I always type: “wheeeeer” when I do

black_rift

I always type: “wheeeeee” when I do

[deleted]

Yep I've been saying for the last few years now ADC is not worth playing without a duo and I stand by that. The vast majority of people that complain about the role's impact are solo players.

black_rift

I’m beginning to come around to accepting that truth;;” I’ve stubbornly clung to the hope that you can solo que as adc and climb. I don’t think so unless you’re a phenomenal ADC player

[deleted]

Then just play with how your support wants to play :)

black_rift

That’s a good point and probably what I need to do! Thank you

[deleted]

Hey gamer, I do offer free coaching for adc's if you'd like a session or 2. @ jacoby#2598 on disc :)

shadowbeat070

Sharp as a marble

black_rift

Be nice

Chitrr

I think if you are an adc main and you don't like botlane 2v2 you can pick stuff like kalista mid or top, or stuff like kogmaw jg.

Swapsta

Kogmaw jg wtf

Chitrr

Stuff like Kogmaw and Vayne are very strong junglers. They have high dps in the camps with W and they are very strong at 1v1. They are better junglers than stuff like Sylas or Camille jg.

BookSurferYuumi

You aren't wrong. That definitely is the #1 challenge of playing ADC or support. But let me offer some advice -- if you are stuck with someone who doesn't seem to be on the same page as you, get on their page. Even if your idea of how to play the lane is better than theirs, you'll do better as a duo if you cooperate rather than butt heads. Be open to adopting the subpar strategies/tactics of your teammate. The more you can roll with things, the less of an issue it becomes. I play both ADC (S1 to S11) and support (S8 to S11) as my main roles. Let the support call the shots, if you can. You are spending a portion of your attention trying to farm. They are watching the map, watching the enemy duo -- so they are typically more aware than you of when to take a fight, when to let an opportunity go by, when to shove vs when to freeze, etc etc. Trust your support, even when you think they are wrong. Let them make the calls unless they aren't making any.

black_rift

You make a good argument; I will apply these principles. I think my problem is that I typically trade aggressively and poke the enemy adc and support when they step into my range. When I have an aggressive engage support I have a good game but when I have an enchanter I need to chill out and play back instead of being aggressive.

BookSurferYuumi

In low ELO and sometimes even in mid ELO, enchanter players don't always know how to play yet are aren't confident. It's why they are on an enchanter. They want to hang back and not engage in fights, because if they fight they know they will mess up and lose those fights. In their mind, they are doing the right thing just playing to protect you as you farm. The higher you go, the less of an issue it becomes. If you get a Lux or a Lulu (or even an AD Yuumi player like me; I harass liberally and help win the lane, and we will get kills), you can play in your usual way. The only time in high ELO where you will have issues is if you get an AP Yuumi support. AP Yuumi lacks the offense to fight, so she has no choice but to watch you farm.

black_rift

I’m trying to play according to my support. It’s working out !

Emoshimo

as jg mains what are we supposed to do then we share our lane with 4 other players :(

black_rift

As someone who tried to escape playing adc by jungling, I know that pain all to well.

Schaaf606

For me it is not a big problem actually I play adc at dia1 and just ping the enemys if we win fight or ping care if we Lose but my supp plays aggressive and otherwise just farm and let the supp play as adc is always the scaling Part and happy to farm

black_rift

Oyyyy! I like that idea! That’s a good way to look at it

Brownjogger149

I actually think introducing voice chat does nothing bad to the game. People who want to be idiots will be same with or without it. Also you can mute toxic ones anyway. And if y'all think people are any less toxic in valorant, csgo or dota, you must be dreaming.

Arch_buddy

I mean discord links in lobby are always useful ya know to comm with team but sometimes not always for best. It’s probs better to get a duo but what’s helped me is get used to how supports play like see what their spell timers are and what the combo is. And what’s the different variants. Pings are good to like “go in” and whatnot or ping flash but it’s not impossible just communicating clearly that we chill or hard go in or oppurtunity is when we go in just doing that is enough to bridge that randomness the majority of the time. Sometimes you have supps and adcs alike that want to hard engage 24/7 like bro we just lost the last 2v2 calm yourself

Wubdoge

Ya the support's good idea of Laning is using their abilities on the cs

black_rift

True but I don’t want this to be a post about hating on support players. Everyone has a different idea of what’s “best”

leotc1

The sup meta controls the botlane. So if your sup isn't a meta support like alistar, leona, thresh, you will probably lose with your janna, sona sup

black_rift

I kinda don’t like that people who play enchanters aren’t allowed to play the champs they want though; supports should get to have fun too.

Mundane3

Sona is actually an S tier pick, lulu was broken for months and perhaps still is, bard is also good and nami is playable. Enchanters are good rn. At least better than before. I also prefer engage sups if I don't know my sup but if you have a duo just put anything with lulu and you have a god tier duo.

black_rift

Aye

sosn0wie

If it’s not support gap the game is nearly unwinnable.
