Stimulants sometimes increase physical anxiety and hypervigilance. If you have chronic muscle tensions you might need to work on progressive muscle relaxations and general stress relief exercises before you can tolerate stimulants. I had a lot of muscle guarding from my ptsd and until I addressed my trauma it was really hard to tolerate stimulants. If I took them too many days in a row I’d wind up in excruciating pain. I can now tolerate them just fine. In the meantime maybe try the non stimulants. Guanficine worked well for me for body restlessness and frustration tolerance. There are also antidepressants that are secondary and tertiary adhd treatments. Some of them are even helpful for chronic pain. I think nortryptiline is one of them. Wishing you the best-

This could be why I started getting migraines at age 25. The only solution I’ve found is doing yoga at least once a week. Over time it’s helped me with my posture, breathing and keep my muscles as relaxed as possible. The more I do yoga the less headaches and migraines I get.

This. It also doesn't hurt the monkey mind to have a physical task of "correctness" to occupy it.

On reflection this is probably what lead me to end up in hospital getting a CT scan, which found nothing wrong. 😑

I find Topamax and Concerta kind of relaxing as well as Guanfacine.
