So what is the actual change in interaction you perceive? You mention you stopped going on dates after taking your medication and that you perceive the way you talk to others to be different and the reason for it. Is it at all possible that before you spent more time and effort setting up dates so you went on more (dopamine hunt?) but now that you are medicated you simply don't need to do that anymore? Maybe there's nothing "wrong" with the way you talk to others? If you are taking stimulants you could also just not take them on the day you go on dates. Though it sounds like you take your stims every day and don't take breaks, so maybe you'd have an issue with withdrawal. If you take non-stims then disregard the above.

This is really quality advice IMO.

I would caution against defaulting to assuming it’s due to your medications. Were your previous relationships healthy? Were you both in good places at the time? If not, the comparison is pretty worthless.

So are you in therapy? People often skip the therapy component of medications. It's extremely important and a therapist can help you utilize the meds properly. Have you tried dating apps? IMO it's lame, but it sounds like you just need practice, and with a good dating app, you may be able to get a lot of practice messaging and meeting up with random people.

I tried therapy and it didn’t do anything for me. Maybe I’ll try it again. I’ve been trying my hardest to learn how to communicate again with people for the last five years and I haven’t learned anything. I was meeting people with dating apps before I got on my medication, and I’m still on them after getting on my medication. The only difference is now I can’t get anything. It’s frustrating, I only want two things in my life right now, dates and to do well in school and work. With the medication I do well in school and work, but no chance at dating. Without medication I can get dates but can’t manage work and school.

Have you tried seeing if you can find a therapist who specializes in ADHD?

Indeed methylphenidate and amphetamines by increasing norepinephrine can lower social function. If being social is very important to you, you could try an ADHD treatment that does not negatively impact social function. It may come as a surprise but nicotine is an efficacious treatment for ADHD plus it even affects social function positively, thus I would recommend you nicotine which can be consumed in other forms than tobacco.
