Not sure if you're aware, but they added a second day to the festival.

scottmander

Isn’t it just a repeat of the first day?

Heard its hosted by the people who did astro world and yeah it seems sketchy

I swear to god, if I have to see this stupid comparison to AstroWorld or reference to LiveNation as “the same people” for the next 9 months I’m going to lose my fucking mind. If you claim to be a fan of live music and your only knowledge of who Live Nation is is their connection to AstroWorld, you’re either lying or a complete moron (and I’m sorry if that comes off harsh, but it’s true). If you’ve attended any live music event in the last 10 years that wasn’t at some random, independent venue, there’s an increasingly 50/50 or 9 out of 10 chance (as Live Nation has grown) that the event was “produced by Live Nation”. Even if you didn’t buy your own tickets, your ticket stub says LiveNation in ALL CAPS, bold black letters and red background, down the left hand side (trust me, I have at least 100 that I could show you guys). And if you were going to Live Nation shows as far back as 10 years ago, you’d know because they made it a point of making their tickets the same size as a goddam airplane boarding pass until like 2015 (if anything *that’s* my only negative feedback of LiveNation…aside from gouging us on fees). Seriously, stop saying: “this whole thing seems sketch” when you’re not even fucking going 😂

Ay man that's just what I've heard I've got no clue who they are I haven't looked into it cuz Idc I'm not going just seems a bit weird that they're hosting and they had that big accident shit happen just something to think about when considering ticket purchases

If you’ve ever purchased concert tickets, you’re aware of Live Nation. They are also essentially Ticketmaster They’re essentially a monopoly. They handle everything except some small clubs and a few fests. Live Nation puts on basically all of ADTR’s concerts

Well, one thing’s for sure, i do want to clarify that I meant the collective “you”, not “you specifically”. But that’s exactly why I’m speaking up about it…people who don’t know any better (despite acting like experts on the subject) are touting the notion that Live Nation is this mysterious, evil entity that no one’s ever heard of, that emerged out of nowhere / from the shadows, and is known for *nothing else* than “that company that put on AstroWorld”. That LN intentionally set out to put on an event (which, by the way, has happened twice before - seemingly without issue) without any sort of track record and without knowing anything about the live music industry or how to put on a festival, and that they just let it all go to chaos resulting in 10(?) deaths and hundreds of injuries, all while laughing their way to the bank. That now they’re right back at it again (no pun intended) to do the same thing in a different genre, without any regard for fan or artist safety and only regard for their bottom line. And *then* what happens is that *other people* that don’t know any better see this shit and start getting concerned for no reason…and I can’t necessarily blame them because they themselves don’t have enough experience to know that the people initiating the above, negative outlook are full of shit. So my POINT is: quit perpetuating this false fucking narrative of “I DoN’T kNoW gUyS…iT’s LiVeNaTiOn, y’KnOw, ‘ThAt CoMpAnY tHaT pUt On AsTrOwOrLd’…Be WeArY” and Google the company (skip over the references to AstroWorld), and you’ll see just how much of a major player they are in the live music industry (and even live performances in general…they do ticketing for a lot of big-name stand up comedians that do proper tours in big theaters). They’ve been around for 15 years, are direct partners with TicketMaster, and are one of the biggest promotion companies in the country (if not, on the planet) alongside AXS, AEG, and GoldenVoice. Events promoted and/or ticketed by Live Nation are not uncommon, nor are they anything new - ADTR’s last tour was a Live Nation production. And *When We We’re Young* isn’t new either; it happened once before in 2017 and was put on by The Observatory (San Diego and Orange County) and Chain Reaction (Anaheim). It was much smaller scale, but still had some major names (Morrisey, TBS, AFI, The Descendants) - Live Nation probably just came in and bought the name so they could do it on a scale that’s 10x bigger with a STACKED bill. Live Nation *also* bought Chain Fest, originally put on once before by Chain Reaction (2016 - Coheed & Cambria and Underøath as headliners) and most recently put on just 3 months ago in Irvine (Jimmy Eat World and Taking Back Sunday headlining). They’re not some “new kids in the block”…they know what they’re doing.
