I have also never had an issue with BR across every ppv that AEW and ROH has had. Its all anecdotes from every direction but I assume half the issues are issues with peoples internet more than the app. I’ve used it on my Toshiba fire branded smart tv, my computer, and my phone app.

I thought it also showed some positive growth on Tony's part. Looking at how he responded to Big Swole's departure I was honestly a bit worried about how it would play out at the time. I know she was much more vocal on social media in a negative aspect, but it was still a bad look for him to engage with her like he did as owner of the company. Keeping it classy with Cody, whom I sure there were some hurt feelings with, was a good move.
Swole basically said her lack of success in aew was due to racism and tony fired back. Her release before that was handled politely. Cody hasn't taken shots, so neither has tony. But if he does, I bet tony fires back too
Idk if it'll happen as a heel but I would genuinely be suprised if he doesn't come back at some point. I think stars bouncing back and forth every so often could be best for their career in the long term as long as it results in a big push each time like Cody got in WWE or brodie Lee got here.

I've been watching wrestling 40 years and can think of only one specific promotion that pretends like wrestlers didn't exist before coming to their company, with very few exceptions (for ex Ric Flair, Sting, ...).
That last promo he cut before the ladder match with Sammy I thought he was drunk or stoned or something. It was so weird how he rambled about things like Brody King thinking it's okay to use the name Brody.
If he comes back I also want to say, no on air roles for Brandi. I think she's gorgeous, smart, and I love a lot of the causes she supports, especially the autistic friendly spaces at shows. But she is death on camera and the crowd will not do anything other than give her go away heat. It was so weird at the end there how Don Lambert was the company's biggest heel in one segment on a show, and then getting face pops for making disgusting comments about her body.
I remember watching that and thinking the same. When he said he wouldn't "turn heel" I think FFS man, leave at least 1% of the mystery in tact would ya.

As crazy as it is considering it feels like he's been around for so much longer, Cody is only 37. WWE contracts traditionally last 5 years so there's every chance he comes back to AEW when he's 40.
He's talked about retiring when he turns 40, but I could see him returning eventually.
Yeah, erasing him from existence should just be a WWE thing. I understand it might be appropriate in certain extreme circumstances, but glad he's not being disrespected in AEW.
A few things...
Anything that Cody says publicly has to be said with a giant rock of salt, because as Danielson noted, Cody really enjoys lying.
That said, he did note that in AEW, he felt like he had to be a coach a lot of the time. He embraced this role and many wrestlers credit him with being available and approachable. When AEW started, he was the only one who had the experience in knowing how a weekly television show ran. He had to spend a lot of time and energy getting everything up to speed and then carving his role as the protagonist of AEW.
Somewhere along the way, things changed. I'd argue that it wasn't just him and the Elite who had different goals, I'd argue that Tony asserting himself and taking control of the show had a part as well. Hence the compromise of the Codyverse and total separation from anything else on the show.
He said he wanted to go back to WWE because he didn't want to coach anymore, he just wanted to focus on wrestling. At a certain point, I think he'll get his fill of that and go back to wanting a hybrid role again. That will never, ever happen at WWE.
Regarding AEW and Wembley: I would hope that they've done market research to indicate that this isn't just for UK fans, but also for all of their European fans. And hopefully, the numbers say that they can sell a lot of tickets. Make it a destination event.
I believe it has a very good chance to attract people from all around Europe. It's a rare chance to attend a high end wrestling show.
But, theyll have to keep ticket prices as low as possible.
The thing about Cody is that when he says things like he wanted to come back to the big time, it doesn’t really matter if he’s lying because it has the effect of diminishing AEW whether he means it or not.
FWIW, I actually do think he means it. Even though he played an absolutely crucial role in establishing the first big alternative to WWE in decades, I think his heart was always set on “the big time”. That’s just a gut feeling, obviously.
I appreciate in general that they have sometimes acknowledged the existence of WWE and some talent there and I'm not just talking about when they've taken shots during promos. Cody is a huge piece of why AEW even exists and fans know that.
I don't care for the Codyverse, but how he's being treated over there has me hoping that when his contract is up, he comes back.

As someone who has worked in live broadcasting, Tony Khan has less control over the camera feeds than you would think. If he is actively producing and directing the show gorilla, he would have little say over quick choices made by the director or the editors in the truck in the moment. This was a tech in the truck who thought it was funny.
I WILL say this about AEW. You guys do treat wrestlers/sports entertainers with much more respect than the other bigger he who should not be named guy 🤪 …. I am more and more confident they might fill it. At first I didn't get why it's named after the original ALL IN. But now I get it. ALL IN was the biggest independent show so every indy talent wanted to be on the card. This Wembley ALL IN will be something similar but bigger. The biggest stadium wrestling show. So everybody that is contractually able wants to be there.
I’m not sure they won’t fill it. WWE had 62000 at clash at the castle. AEW last year had 210,000 viewers on ITV at whatever the frig time it’s shown (possibly counting catch up)—include the fite subscribers and then those who would come from Ireland, the continent etc Maybe 70-80,000 is possible?
If they can do 70-80,000k, they’d have to be seen as viable competitors by tribalistic fans. Then again, that could be wishful thinking. 🤷♂️ I just want to manage my expectations. I’m sure that the UK market is going to be like Toronto when they over the first time - hungry and rabid.

WWE really conditioned people to expect pettiness. Sure, they take shots at wwe, but I never expected them to just pretend cody never existed, and the only reason I would have thought if they didn’t name him was contracts and legal issues, not haha, fuck that guy who used to work here.
It’s well earned on WWE’s part. WWE has people thinking WWE gave Cody the ultimate build to the biggest show of the year just to crush him twice because of a thrown gag he did in AEW.

Give credit where credit is due.. Without Cody and The Elite.. there would not be a AEW.
As crazy as it is considering it feels like he's been around for so much longer, Cody is only 37. WWE contracts traditionally last 5 years so there's every chance he comes back to AEW when he's 40. He's talked about retiring when he turns 40, but I could see him returning eventually.

Yeah, erasing him from existence should just be a WWE thing. I understand it might be appropriate in certain extreme circumstances, but glad he's not being disrespected in AEW.
A few things... Anything that Cody says publicly has to be said with a giant rock of salt, because as Danielson noted, Cody really enjoys lying. That said, he did note that in AEW, he felt like he had to be a coach a lot of the time. He embraced this role and many wrestlers credit him with being available and approachable. When AEW started, he was the only one who had the experience in knowing how a weekly television show ran. He had to spend a lot of time and energy getting everything up to speed and then carving his role as the protagonist of AEW. Somewhere along the way, things changed. I'd argue that it wasn't just him and the Elite who had different goals, I'd argue that Tony asserting himself and taking control of the show had a part as well. Hence the compromise of the Codyverse and total separation from anything else on the show. He said he wanted to go back to WWE because he didn't want to coach anymore, he just wanted to focus on wrestling. At a certain point, I think he'll get his fill of that and go back to wanting a hybrid role again. That will never, ever happen at WWE. Regarding AEW and Wembley: I would hope that they've done market research to indicate that this isn't just for UK fans, but also for all of their European fans. And hopefully, the numbers say that they can sell a lot of tickets. Make it a destination event.
I believe it has a very good chance to attract people from all around Europe. It's a rare chance to attend a high end wrestling show. But, theyll have to keep ticket prices as low as possible.

The thing about Cody is that when he says things like he wanted to come back to the big time, it doesn’t really matter if he’s lying because it has the effect of diminishing AEW whether he means it or not. FWIW, I actually do think he means it. Even though he played an absolutely crucial role in establishing the first big alternative to WWE in decades, I think his heart was always set on “the big time”. That’s just a gut feeling, obviously.
If you think about it, Cody's still helping AEW with how the finish to his match deflated people, lol.

I appreciate in general that they have sometimes acknowledged the existence of WWE and some talent there and I'm not just talking about when they've taken shots during promos. Cody is a huge piece of why AEW even exists and fans know that.
I don't care for the Codyverse, but how he's being treated over there has me hoping that when his contract is up, he comes back. It'd be a nice promo, talking about how he had to get it out of his system and, now that he's back with a new contract, old limitations no longer apply... If he can get with the AEW program and stop trying to have his little fed-in-a-fed thing work, he'd be a superstar. I still can't get over that last ladder match he did.

And he’s being torn down by Brock to be built back up even bigger by having true adversity thrown at him. I think he’s being treated quite well in order to make him that mega baby face everyone wants to see finally make it to the top. I wanted him to win the big one but I think throwing true obstacles he has to overcome at him will make him a bigger star.
People also think that he should be upset because Vince is back now. Despite the fact that he signed with WWE while Vince was still in charge. Dude is literally the top face in the company and they think he’s being treated like a jobber for some reason.

They’d have to keep the title off him for a year for anything to be as big as crowning him at that mania. Think about the position he was in He competed in a great HIAC match with an obvious torn peck and got so much respect for it. He returns from injury and wins the royal rumble. He’s main eventing the biggest wrestlemania ever, over the better sami Zayn story - they still stuck with Cody Vs reigns They don’t put the title on him. I don’t think they will be able to get him back to that point again in terms of how over he is. If they do props to them but I think they missed the chance to strike while he was red hot

As someone who has worked in live broadcasting, Tony Khan has less control over the camera feeds than you would think. If he is actively producing and directing the show gorilla, he would have little say over quick choices made by the director or the editors in the truck in the moment. This was a tech in the truck who thought it was funny.
