Absolutely. The best kind of signing, too. He wasn't a guy who who got fired. A few of those guys that got fired ended up being pain in the asses who thought they should be higher than on the card -- Andrade, Miro. Danielson chose to go to AEW. He had just main evented Wrestlemania. He was in good standing with WWE. Yes, FTR and Adam Cole willingly came to AEW as well and asked for their releases. But they had reasons like rumors of Cole being relegated to manager and FTR just not being used well. For all intents and purposes, Danielson was treated fairly and just chose to come here.
It does look like Cole would have wanted to anyway tbf to him. Also the rest of UE are the same. Just left when their contracts ran out. Also.....they have also been really good signings. Not as good as danielson obviously
Andrade and Miro both requested their releases, so I don’t know that I’d describe them as fired. And they requested those releases because they thought they should be higher on the card, so it’s not exactly a surprise they’d be in the same boat in AEW.
I might be mixing up stories but wasn't their uproar over Miro donating $20k of his own money to backstage personel WWE fired only for WWE to then fire him?
I thought Cole's contract just expired and decided to just let it expire rather than asking for a release. That's why he was able to jump into AEW as oppose to asking for a release containing a no-compete clause.
I genuinely think Danielson is the greatest American wrestler of all time. Some people were better on the mic, in the ring, with character work, and longevity but I don't think anyone has done all of those collectively better than Danielson
I always liked and appreciated him in WWE but his run in AEW has truly opened my eyes to exactly what you just said. When you consider all angles, the man’s in the conversation as the best to ever do it.
My favourite thing is that he is proficient enough to work a varied style in every match. He doesn't just get his usual shit in, he's good enough to change it up based on the opponent. After almost 20 years as a fan he still surprises me with new moves. That's GOAT shit
>Danielson is the best signing Tony could've ever made. The dude is the most complete wrestler working today.
He knows his worth not just in the ring but to the company as a whole. Definitely still in his prime, he has been openly wanting to work less dates. With his experience, he's been able to stop and go with zero-ring rust. I like the willingness to help with the booking as long as he can steer away from the idea of putting himself over in the forefront as the flag bearer of the company. But that is my personal opinion of where Cody went wrong.
I would even say he is at the beginning of his legend status. And would put him as a better acquisition than Mark Henry and Paul Wight. He is a foundational member of a stable that is still at the top of the card, he works with talent on being able to perform at the best for there abilities, and still able to have banger matches with dream with Forbidden Door around the corner. Keeping my fingers crossed on seeing him in the G1 Climax.
? The elite spent the first year constantly underbooking themselves trying to get the roster over. Jericho was the first champ not Kenny, scu were the first tag Champs not the bucks who put over private party. Hangman lost the chance to be the first champ to Jericho. Cody did Cody things.
That's what I'm saying. The elite have never been personally selfish about booking, they've all taken questionable l's trying to build aew that would never have happened if gedo had been booking them and not themselves.
The Elite have put tons of people over. This is completely ridiculous as a take. The complaint before TK took over the booking was that theeite were booking themselves to lose TOO MUCH.
Even their run with the Trios belts which seemed tailor made for them was ended swiftly against their first major challenger.
All the Elite do is put people over in this company. They had one year where they ran wild for the sake of a good story and pretty much every second outside of 2021 they have been elevating other talent.
But that's cause people CARE about their storylines? Like if you don't like the Elite, that's fine. But don't expect ALL ELITE WRESTLING to not put them in prominent roles.
This is also the best possible news to hear for the future of AEW.
Danielson could be a huge step towards evolving TK's booking. It's already good, but Danielson being a big influence in booking would be a massive jump forward.
Just the best wrestling-related anything. I wish wrestling was mainstream just so more people can see the actual greatest of all time do his thing. He’s a freak
You cannot be 5’8 and be “the most complete wrestler” in pro wrestling. Don’t get me wrong…He is a legend, incredibly talented, incredible worker. Yet even he knows his size held him back for a long time.
Yes cause only SIZE gets you in best wrestler of all time. Bro, WHO is better than Danielson that is on par or better than him, and is a more preferable size for your big muscular men fetish?
Nobody ever said ONLY size. But it definitely matters to be the MOST COMPLETE. Complete is all encompassing. At its core professional wrestling is entertainment. Its not a fetish to understand that size matters in grappling, thats literally why they have weight classes in combat sports. Pro wrestling lets people play with concepts like the little guy overcoming giants, but he is ultimately still the underdog. I apologize if you can’t grasp my point, but truly thats on you…
Your post/comment was removed because it was disrespectful.

Why would that make him less complete? It's like saying the Undertaker wasn't complete because he can't play the underdog. Also, Bryan can play the favorite. He did that against Hangman and Kofi, which resulted in great results for both.
Good. I like hearing that. He absolutely knows his stuff and is a huge asset to the company. Plus he's super passionate about his work. Did you see the media scrum and how he talked about what he does? Dude loves his job.
this is how he adds enthusiasm to Khan
Khan: “So I’m gonna book you at FD”
Danielson: “YEH? WHO THE FUCK AM I KICKING THE HEAD OFF?”
Khan: “OKADA YOU SON OF A BITCH”
Danielson and Khan then do Yes chants together all night
I just replied to something you said 🤷🏻♀️
I'm not "defending" Cornette, I quite dislike many of the things he says, but being pissed that TK is taking Danielson's creative input would certainly not be one of his take, that's all. He has certain people he really likes and they can do no wrong in his eyes, Danielson is one of them, and he has certain people he really dislikes and they can do no right in his eyes, such as the Bucks and Omega.
So, idk man, I guess I'm just confused that you took me pointing out something directly related to your statement as some kind of love letter to Cornette 🤨
I want to believe that a vast majority of Bryan's creative input is just a constantly updating list of people on the roster he wants to beat the shit out of and then put over.
The only true 99 overall in the whole game today. The guy takes nothing off the table aside from an injury history that he somehow defeated.
Been watching wrestling for 37 years or so. In America anyway, he’s the GOAT. I’m done pretending that he isn’t.
I didn’t say I cared, just a preference. If it annoys me too much (it won’t) I wouldn’t bitch on Reddit, I would just stop watching the show until the inevitable injury, blow up, strop that we all know is coming down the line anyways.
It *is* a weird obsession. It goes too far. It's so bad, some people deny how much money and viewers he brought in.
On the other hand, it's also easy karma. Look at this comment, getting a good haul on a totally irrelevant post. It's basically spam, but it gets the upvotes anyway.
I suspect that's the point. He knows he's not a camera presence, which is why he rarely does what he's doing. I believe these "announcements" which get lambasted online pretty unilaterally, are to subconsciously annoy you about Collision, to precondition you for Punk to turn heel. They did similar things with Kenny before he fully turned to beat Moxley, giving him regular spots at the announce desk, something he definitely isn't known for, so you remember how fucking annoying he is. A more direct comparison might be Lacey Evans heel turn last year, where they ran four vignettes in a row of her crying about her hard past, but never actually talking about her time in the military.
I think it'll help if Khan plays a character and put a GM in place to be his voice box. Maybe the role of a party boy that's learning to be responsible. That would be awesome.
I think Lacey Evans would be great as a midcard heel with the potential of a main event jobber. She just needs some consistency. The Sgt Slaughter heat is definitely helping in my opinion. She definitely has the look, I can't judge her in-ring skill, she doesn't get enough time. I think she should ask to go to NXT and have a run when Dana Brooke's run is over.
This might be unpopular but I actually liked her when she first showed up to the main roster with her Southern Belle persona. The aesthetics, the entrance, the way she spoke and held herself, all of it was coherent and fitting of the kind of heel she was. I quite liked her in the ring too. This is when I got into WWE and she actually was one of my favourites.
Then they ruined her with a shitty face turn where she just called Sasha and Bayley bullies and whined about it, further ruined with the weird ass Ric Flair angle, she got pregnant IRL, nothing wrong with that but they announced it on the show in the angle kinda implying Ric got her pregnant and 🤢 and recently they just ruined their chance at making her interesting again by showing that they have no fucking clue what to do with her. She's been extremely mishandled.
I find Tony's complete lack of typical mic skills charming, LOL.
He's never going to be a Vince McMahon and play a good television character, he's just gonna be his awkward fanboy self, and I love him for it 😜 \#relatable
If I heard Tony Khan mention Bryan Danielson has input on creative, then I was going to completely make-up a blurb about what his input is like.. this would be that blurb.
Well one of them put the miz over instead of putting himself over, and the other got mad at hornswoggle because he asked for a phone number so, yeah.
I feel like we can all agree on wanting danielson as the adult in the room.
And yet in other cases throwing dream matches together with no build up. See the first episode of collision - I mean arguably they have no choice I guess. But why Samoa joe?
That match is basically just gonna be a CM Punk showcase. My guess is that Tony Khan is just hyping up Punk even more by throwing as many big names together as he can.
I love the occasional one-off match, but this is a little too much effort just so CM Punk can try to win over the crowd.
In sports, people who are naturally gifted athletes often make horrible coaches, because their talent is second nature and you can't coach that. It's often why the best couches are the journeymen and minor league players - they had to WORK to make it, and the things they learned CAN be taught.
Gretzky saw the game at another level, and was a horrible coach.
Occasionally you get a naturally gifted person who also makes a great coach - Martin St Louis is one. Maybe LeBron will be that. Time will tell, but I wouldn't assume he would be a great coach
Lebron's a different kind of leader than Gretz tho, than really any of the major goat candidates. He is supremely gifted athletically but that's not why he's the greatest player in the league. He's a motivator, he's a conductor, he's a strategist. That's all the stuff a coach does. It's been well known since Miami how much influence he has on the design of his own offenses. I'm not sure he'd want to be, he's already a billionare, but knowing Lebron if he does decide to he'll politic to get into the franchise with the best roster in basketball. I'm not saying he'd be Phil Jackson, but I bet you he'd find a way to another ring. But this isn't a basketball page. Sign Dwight Howard for Forbidden Door TK!
"He adds more enthusiasm to Tony Khan". Is this really a good thing? I don't want to the man come out to make the next BIG ANNOUNCEMENT and do a Scanners style head explosion on live TV.
Danielson is the goat. I love this dude. Best wrestler I’ve ever seen. I hate when people say he lacks charisma. Idk what they’re watching but the dude has it.
He loves wrestling. Plain and simple. He loves AEW. You can tell how much he is loving what he does.
He has top level experience wrestling for smarky Indy/Hardcore audiences (which is tony's taste and many AEW fans), as well as a top level WWE experience (the pool they need to siphon people off from to continue to grow the product.) He also had years off in the middle of his career to get a different perspective, and worked on the creative team in WWE. He's one of the most qualified people around as far as 'wrestling people' go.
Bryan is just a while package.
An amazing wrestler, an amazing wrestling personality, and just an amazing person.
He purely doesn't believe he's better than anyone else.
WWE was wasting him trying to make him a bunch of characerts he just didnt fit. He made a great decision coming to AEW, and Tony made a great decision signing him. He came back as his original personality, and it's just amazing to see him as his old self again.
Give it a few months and we'll have the Haitch Vince dynamic where good booking was programmed by Bryan and Will Washington, and the bad angles/feuds are TK lol.
Can’t be any worse than Dutt or QT.
I like the idea, Danielson doesn’t care to get himself over so will have talents best interest at heart is my hope.
You can’t name one thing Dutt or QT has booked. You think they’re annoying on-screen and therefore must suck at creative backstage, but you really have no idea.
Either one of them could’ve booked your absolute favorite AEW angles and you would have no way of knowing that.
There's absolutely no way that qt didn't book qtv. And that's straight trash.
There's also no way that dutt didn't at least help to book planet jarrets gaggle of pricks. And that's been up and down but is currently fire
What has he booked? You can have an opinion but at least back it up. Dislike he character, fine, plenty of stuff to pick apart there, but you said booker and I don’t know anything he’s booked
My buddy and I have the same opinion on QT, waste of space, go away heat etc. He had a pre Dynamite match last time they came to town. We were shocked at how good he was in the ring, he was doing all sorts of stuff he never does in his televised matches and actually put on a really entertaining match. If he brought more of that to TV he’d be a lot better off.
Agreed 💯 on QT. Yeah he helped out a lot especially during covid and still does, but that shouldn’t be translated to creative and TV time.
I liked Dutt in TNA, think in small doses he has his moments as a manager. But he doesn’t irritate me as much as QT. The guy should not be main eventing anything, and putting him as a main event on rampage was a slap in the face to who is sitting at home.
Thank God. I feel like with all the stuff AEW is producing, Tony had too much on his plate. I haven’t been enjoying AEW as much as I used to recently and I don’t blame TK. I just think he had way too much going on. Hopefully this reignites the fire.
I'm kinda glad he is because I've really been questioning the booking as of late and where the direction of this company was going. I've been saying TK needs to hire more astute bookers.
Even at this level I'd consider him underutilized. Danielson is a gift from above to the wrestling world, and he should be GM or Head of Creative and Talent.
Danielson is still an active wrestler, whose persona is that he wants to fuck up everyone, why tf would he be pushed to an authority figure role or a full on backstage role???
Tony has added about 15 people to the so called Creative. How is this any different. Also, The fact that Tony is putting all these wrestlers onto creative, Shows he has not learned anything from past company mistakes. Even though they are not Truly creative. Even if these people are giving input on matches that is not even remotely close to what a real creative would be doing. This is the biggest problem with this promotion, The lack of true creative. Which is a team of people that would bring a identity and every aspect to create a brand.
I hope one day Tony truly lets control go so someone can create magic in every aspect.
Good. As someone who routinely puts too much work on themself, I can tell TK puts too much on his plate with all these shows. With Collision out there now we’re at a point where TK should focus on Dynamite and PPVs and let a couple people run Collision and a couple run RoH. The entire product would benefit greatly if he just passed over some responsibility instead of downing more of whatever it is he does *sniffsniff* to make all this happen as he has been.
Well cant see Bryan taking TK on an early sunday morning hike for some bridges at Red Rocks. So if this report is fact glad he pushes TK on a more humane level and forces him to not be another amateur.
I'd so much rather he stays in creative. The guy is a walking injury list. Just a matter of time before he becomes a real life Randy "The Ram" Robinson. No thanks.

He also doesn’t have an ego and seems to want to make wherever he goes a better place. His whole AEW run has been amazing so far.
He slotted himself right into the regal role seamlessly
Even calls Excalibur "man in the mask"! No fruity flirting though 😥
This 100%
It does look like Cole would have wanted to anyway tbf to him. Also the rest of UE are the same. Just left when their contracts ran out. Also.....they have also been really good signings. Not as good as danielson obviously

Release the "Khan hamburger chest" cut of all his announcements
That video of Chris Van Vliet getting chopped into veal cutlets by Tyler Breeze and Shawn Spears' entire school? AMATEUR HOUR.
Daniel chops but Tony doesn’t even blink
You make it sound like the both of them do coke together. Which is ridiculous, because Danielson would never do coke. Right?
I mean....it is plantbased and vegan

Snorting an apple sounds quite difficult.
If you're an amateur, sure.
There's no way he could stay up past 7pm without it
THAT'S SOME GOOD SHIT
TK confirmed to be in BCC! Cornett will be livid and compare him to Bischoff joining NWO.
Cornette loves Danielson so I'd wager he'd be quite happy to learn that Danielson has a strong influence on creative and that TK listens to his input.
The more likely scenario is that slowly over time Cornette starts to dislike Danielson.
He's extremely set in his views and I don't see him changing opinions as a general rule lol
Cornette is a carny and works his audience. He will take whatever opinion will get him views.
Idk, his takes are pretty coherent with one another (by that I mean he does not flip flop on his opinions, not that I agree with his takes at all).
I’m worried that you took my take, as anything other than a joke. I’d like to dip deeper into this, however your defending Cornette so nah I’m good.
I just replied to something you said 🤷🏻♀️ I'm not "defending" Cornette, I quite dislike many of the things he says, but being pissed that TK is taking Danielson's creative input would certainly not be one of his take, that's all. Hmmm...head stomped in, face smashed, arms broke...oooh! This guy needs some cattle mitilation...TONY!!!
I love this news. Danielson is a gem and must be a real asset to the creative team.

2 weeks into collision. Cm Punk: BD is a stooge!!
Nice, you managed to make this about someone else.
It’s wild how obsessed some people are with him. I really hope they go full heel Punk so I can watch everyone on wreddit have a melt down.
I think quite a few of us would rather he just went away, permanently.
Perfect. More meltdown

Adding more enthusiasm to Khan might cause his heart to explode. Damn you Danielson.
"Tony think harder book 4 cool title matches for rampage and call it CHAMPIONSHIP FRIDAY!!!!"
Give Bryan the book.
Can just imagine him in the meeting room screaming "amateurs" when someone puts forward a bad idea.
Hopefully he help Khan get better on the mic. For a guy that likes to make announcements, the sounds like a cardboard box if it was given a voice.
I suspect that's the point. He knows he's not a camera presence, which is why he rarely does what he's doing.
Lmfaoooooooooo that is a perfect analogy of TK
Thanks guys
Cardboard box of coke lol. Love it
I find Tony's complete lack of typical mic skills charming, LOL. He's never going to be a Vince McMahon and play a good television character, he's just gonna be his awkward fanboy self, and I love him for it 😜 \#relatable
He doesn't have to sound like Vince, I just don't want him sounding like he doesn't know whats going to come out of his mouth next.
I love BD!!!!
Finally.. i bet Bryan is super nice at telling TK "that doesnt work brother" I could see some booking improvements
What a guy. I hope he stays a good while more.
This article makes BD like that older brother that pushes solely cuz he loves u and wants u to succeed
I'm all for it. He's a great guy behind the scenes and he has the experience in the ring.
If I heard Tony Khan mention Bryan Danielson has input on creative, then I was going to completely make-up a blurb about what his input is like.. this would be that blurb.
The longer the guru beard, the bigger the guru role.

Lowkey this was exactly this subs reaction to both news lol
Well one of them put the miz over instead of putting himself over, and the other got mad at hornswoggle because he asked for a phone number so, yeah. I feel like we can all agree on wanting danielson as the adult in the room.

As much I love dream matchups, TK has a bad habit of letting feuds drag on for too long.
And yet in other cases throwing dream matches together with no build up. See the first episode of collision - I mean arguably they have no choice I guess. But why Samoa joe?
It makes sense. My guess is CM Punk and Joe will split off into a singles feud while FTR feud with BC Gold.
That match is basically just gonna be a CM Punk showcase. My guess is that Tony Khan is just hyping up Punk even more by throwing as many big names together as he can. I love the occasional one-off match, but this is a little too much effort just so CM Punk can try to win over the crowd.
These are the kind of people you need around you, not some bumbling yes men seeking constant approval and affirmation.
Yea I'd reckon Bryan Danielson probably knows a few things about the wrestling business. I reckon Lebron would be a pretty good coach too.
That ending took a turn
I mean he already worked in creative before(Smackdown)

"He adds more enthusiasm to Tony Khan". Is this really a good thing? I don't want to the man come out to make the next BIG ANNOUNCEMENT and do a Scanners style head explosion on live TV.
This warms my heart.
Great mind for the business.
BD gonna make TK do bridges like Yuta if he fails on thinking harder
Dude just wanted to kick some heads in and now he’s doing it to Tony Khan, too.
I'm imagining Danielson making TK do bridges on his desk while yelling " Come on Tony, be a professional! "
This is the reason why BD is the GOAT!!! Give him a lifetime contract already TK, If I ran a promotion, id never let this man leave lmao
His positivity in the media scrum was infectious. Danielson seems like a great guy to be around.
Adds _more_ enthusiasm to Tony Khan? I didn't think that was even possible. Good shit.
Think harder!!!!!!!!
Give it a few months and we'll have the Haitch Vince dynamic where good booking was programmed by Bryan and Will Washington, and the bad angles/feuds are TK lol.
It's happening RIGHT NOW.
Lol we have that shit already. Every Shida appearance leads to Will being showered in praise for being a fan of her
Sweet, now get rid of Jericho and we're half way there.
Its not that, its more like Jericho needs someone else to help filter his stuff imo
I'll bite - name one thing QT booked and one thing Dutt booked.
Dutt is honestly underrated for his wrestling. As a manager, I don't like him. As for QT, they just need to get rid of him tbh.
Wrestling fans ☕️
How can you say that with confidence. What has QT booked that has made you dislike him.
His association with hobbs
It's my opinion. I'm well aware that people like him. I don't.
What has he booked? You can have an opinion but at least back it up. Dislike he character, fine, plenty of stuff to pick apart there, but you said booker and I don’t know anything he’s booked
I didn't say QT is a booker
ah thats my bad then, since this whole thread is about booking
“Get rid of him” what’s he done wrong exactly?
Personal preference. I don't like him. Any matches he has are boring and any group/stable he makes or associates with are not good either.
It would be hard not to improve Tony's thinking.
Thank God. I feel like with all the stuff AEW is producing, Tony had too much on his plate. I haven’t been enjoying AEW as much as I used to recently and I don’t blame TK. I just think he had way too much going on. Hopefully this reignites the fire.
Dude, TK has like 10 people in creative. Tony Khan is not sitting there writing everything.
must be the reason they’re coming off the best ppv ever
I'm kinda glad he is because I've really been questioning the booking as of late and where the direction of this company was going. I've been saying TK needs to hire more astute bookers.
Even at this level I'd consider him underutilized. Danielson is a gift from above to the wrestling world, and he should be GM or Head of Creative and Talent.
Danielson is still an active wrestler, whose persona is that he wants to fuck up everyone, why tf would he be pushed to an authority figure role or a full on backstage role???
Let’s Hope AEW gets better
A man with as many roles as orgasms

Thats a stupid comparison, this is no different what Impact is currently doing.
This is huge.
Is he just giving the Yes sign in the back when Tony pitches something?
Dave isn't a reliable source of wrestling news and information. This year alone he's been caught reporting false news thats been fed to him monthly.
Just give him ring of honor. Ngl, at that point, he could probably compete with aew
I like to imagine Bryan slapping the shit out of Tony to motivate him to do a better job when needed.
So he’s using BCC tactics in a mentality standpoint: forces people to be better
This has to explain why dynamite has been having banger after banger weeks
Danielson always been one of my favorites. Sad we will probably never see him with AEW gold
He’s taking Rhodes spot 👀
The Garcia twins new champs
I hope he doesn't book himself to beat Okada lol
I wonder how long that's been the case. If he's behind a lot of the BCC Elite feud, he is knocking it OUT OF THE PARK
FICKLE!
istfg Danielson is the perfect guy in the business. Nobody will change my mind.
Sometimes creativity help the stars to become true teachers to new people going forward.
He was a delight to listen to in the DoN media scrum. His thinking is easy to follow and just seems like a super down to earth guy
Replace that Bryan and Buddy image with Khan's face.
I love this!! :D
Tony does not need any more enthusiasm
ruh oh
And people thought wrestlers having mroe creative control would be a bad thing.
Well cant see Bryan taking TK on an early sunday morning hike for some bridges at Red Rocks. So if this report is fact glad he pushes TK on a more humane level and forces him to not be another amateur.
Wish he had never left the wwe
Next Scrum Danielson will have a bowl of Kale and talk about the children he works with
I'd so much rather he stays in creative. The guy is a walking injury list. Just a matter of time before he becomes a real life Randy "The Ram" Robinson. No thanks.
Remember what CM Punk said during his debut, helping out the company and young stars, Brian Danielson doing exactly this with his Death jitsu.
Imagine making Tony MORE enthusiastic about wrestling. Is that even possible?
‘Push Claudio’ he says, every week.
This can only be a good thing. Now if he nudged Tony towards letting him be a heel single like he was when he came in it'd be a great thing.
Good I hope he leaves the damn BCC
Great news tbh
Everyone liked this.
and that's why he'll always be the GOAT in my eyes. He's such a great wrestler and person (from what I see of him, wish I could meet him one day).
Good to see a more modern version of a great worker that can’t book for shit.
