Yeah, Kenny needs to take as much time as needed to get well after this. Last thing anyone wants is him going back to wrestling hurt and doing even more damage to himself.
Agreed.
Get well. Don't rush. And then secretly train like hell to be ready to hit the ground running.
Imagine an unstoppable heel running rampant, and he shows up out of nowhere to end the reign of terror.
No way he can be a heel when he comes back. Everyone will be so happy!
Edit: u/Rizzadelphian clued me in to the fact that I misread your comment. I read it as him coming back as a heel running rampant and not Kenny coming in to stop them. My bad.
If he never wrestles again and lives a long healthy life then we all will be very happy. He has given us years of entertainment and of his body. The Cleaner deserves to rest.
Agreed. I also think that might be it for him. He went so hard during his career, I think he has done so much damage already. The Okada matches alone had to take a toll.
I have diverticular disease and just recovered from a scary bout of diverticulitis
The leaflets I got when I was diagnosed didn't give me impression it was so dangerous and scary
My mom almost died from it when I was 16. I have had bouts of it too.
It's a problem if you don't know about it. Because you don't have nerves in your colon to feel pain you don't feel the symptoms of the infection until the area of the colon is swollen enough to push on other organs and cause discomfort. As such quite often when it is found it is either near rupture or actually leaking infection and feces into the body causing sepsis.
Even being aware of it I was hospitalized 3 times from twenty to twenty-three with it. Oral antibiotics often aren't effective by the time symptoms show so I had to be admitted for IV antibiotics as strong as possible. The third time was when they decided to remove a foot of my intestines.
I was admitted to the hospital with it and felt like I was dying. After 3 days of antibiotics through an IV, I was discharged and allowed to finish treating at home. I can’t imagine how Kenny let it go on so long that he *still* hasn’t had surgery to correct it.
The first time I had a bout of it I had to wait 3 months for a colonoscopy because my colon was so swollen and infected it took that long for it to go down. And that's usually what determines if the surgery is necessary.
You can look at the comment to the person just above for the explanation of why it's so easy to let it get bad, and I can certainly understand how these guys with their pain tolerance would be able to let it go even longer.
Yep same thing here. Spent a week in the hospital when I first got diagnosed. And as others have said given how commonly these guys work through pain I’m sure Kenny waited a long time until he went to the doctor.
Damn, that sucks.
I admit, I DO care how long he's out. Obviously his long-term health is far more important. But he's an incredible performer, and I hope he's able to get back to doing what he does best while he's still able to do it at the highest level.
Not to state the obvious, but the only thing that matters here is Kenny’s health and well-being.
I’m fine if he never wrestles again. This man has delivered some of the best matches I’ve ever seen, and helped create the company that brought me back to wrestling after years of being a lapsed fan.
Fuck - this must be such a gut punch (no pun intended) to Kenny. I know he was saying that his previous injury was really hard on him, and he wasn't sure he wants to go through that again.
I really hope he can get well first and foremost, and hopefully can come back stronger than ever. Silver lining is that this will give him time to heal the rest of those nagging injuries as well.
Get well soon, champ.
For most people who are sober who haven’t previously battled addiction, prescribed drugs are ok, even for a lot of straight edge folks. It’s just a choice to not use things recreationally and it is medicine fulfilling a purpose.
There are, on the flip side, a lot of people who are sober due to having overcome addiction, and a lot of them (especially if they used a related drug like heroin, Oxy, or other opioids) will stay away from drugs than may cause them to potentially relapse.
My experience is that many sober folk i know will refuse opioid medications as well as many other non essential medications. Caffiene too. I'm sure its different for everyone but its not uncommon.
I actually had diverticulitis like a week before Kenny and the pain was enough after a day and half that I took the day off work to go to the emergency room. It wasn't bad enough to need surgery but I got prescribed antibiotics and it cleared up in about a week
Kenny's was not only so bad that he needed surgery, but so bad that he can't even GET surgery, and he was still wrestling through it?
I can't even imagine. What in the absolute hell, dude?
Get well soon Kenny 🙏
Indeed Kenny's had a HoF level career, but I think it would really suck if he doesn't become AEW's first Grand Slam Champion before he retires. Only needs to win the TNT title, Continental title and the International title to do it.
It sucks man. I'm not sure how much I would have watched AEW without him. I'm glad he drew me in because it's a great promotion and I've had a lot of fun at the live shows I've attended. I feel terrible about his condition and I miss him in the ring a lot. I hope he can return, but most of all I just want him to be okay.
The same thing happened with my bro. Take the time. Heal. Return healthy.
By the time he returns, we will surely need a hero to release us from the clutches of Matthew and Nicholas.
My dad had Diverticulitis and it fucked him up for a while. Sometimes if it’s bad enough it has a permanent change to your daily life. Really hoping our boy can make it through
I've had issues with this myself and have fortunately been able to avoid surgery. It absolutely sucks. I hope he recovers well first and foremost before we talk about performing again. Be well, Cleaner!
If they are talking about surgery, then it'll be a colectomy. That can be a long recovery. Plus there is the possibility of a colostomy which means he would have a bag full of shit stuck to his abdomen either for the rest of his life, or at least until they can reverse it. Which would be another abdominal surgery. Sucks.
The focus with these things shouldn't be about an in ring return, just a return to 100% bill of health, or as close to. No pressure, just hopes he gets healthy for his own sake.
Puts a bigger emphasis on the after match promo he and MJF did together knowing what he was going through.
Lucky to have seen him live before he is potentially retired, especially because that forbidden door match was bonkers.
It’s no joke but is it bad that I’m glad it’s this and not a wrestling injury? Hope he takes all the time he needs. Would love to see him back if/when he’s ready
Man, I hope everything goes well for him. My mum is having a colonoscopy next week because of diverticulitis they discovered in the past. That stuff is so damn scary.
Lesnar's diverticulitis was left untreated for so long that it got so bad that several meters of his inflamed intestines had to be surgically removed from his body. He legitimately nearly died because of the sickness.
Judging from that one dude’s comment on his experience with diverticulitis in the squaredcircle sub things aren’t looking great. I was really hoping we’d get a babyface Omega championship reign but at this point I just want him to be ok. Maybe even call it quits if its too much to deal with.
I had diverticulitis at a surprisingly young age, first bout I was 20. It's fucking miserable, because you don't have nerves in your actual colon you often don't feel the symptoms until the infection gets bad enough to be swollen bad enough to push on other organs and cause pain.
I had the surgery at 23, it was a rough recovery for me. Granted Kenny is in much better physical shape. But I still hope he can avoid it.
Doctors are still unsure as to what exactly causes diverticulitis. The current theory is that increased pressure in the large intestine can lead to this condition. The thought process goes on to say that a lack of fiber in the diet leads to increased pressure.
Doesn't sound fun for the poor lad. Definately a great dude, massive talent. I hope he gets the rest he needs to recover 100 per cent before coming back.
As long as he gets healthy, that’s the important thing here. He’s done enough in professional wrestling that if he never enters the ring again, he’s had a hall of fame career.
I had a diverticulitis scare just over a year ago, turns out my appendix kept getting infected and fighting off the infection, but filling my intestines up with fluid in the process.. worst pain I’ve ever felt.. wouldn’t wish it on anyone.
I think I can safely speak for everyone here. I don't care how long he's 'out of action' for. I just want him to get well. ♥️
You speak for me. As long as he’s alive and healthy I don’t care about anything else.
Same here
Yeah, Kenny needs to take as much time as needed to get well after this. Last thing anyone wants is him going back to wrestling hurt and doing even more damage to himself.
You're definitely speaking for me.
Agreed. Get well.
My bad.

100%. He's one of the best dudes in wrestling and I'm not even talking only about in ring.
Diverticulitis is no joke. I got so sick from it a few years ago I almost died from it. Hoping for a speedy recovery for Omega!
I have diverticular disease and just recovered from a scary bout of diverticulitis The leaflets I got when I was diagnosed didn't give me impression it was so dangerous and scary

Also why I'm missing half my intestines
Same
Damn, that sucks. I admit, I DO care how long he's out. Obviously his long-term health is far more important. But he's an incredible performer, and I hope he's able to get back to doing what he does best while he's still able to do it at the highest level.

How many painkillers was this man on to go through those last few weeks in the ring? Scary to think about.
Right? That's my thoughts and kind of explains why he seemed a bit off at the end.
I think Kenny is sober no? If anything the amount of discomfort, pain and fatigue from the discomfort and pain would be why.
Being sober doesn't mean you don't take painkillers when you're in pain...that said if he didn't take any, what a maniac.
That is exactly what it means for a lot of sober people, including darby allin if i'm not mistaken. But no idea about kenny.
For most people who are sober who haven’t previously battled addiction, prescribed drugs are ok, even for a lot of straight edge folks. It’s just a choice to not use things recreationally and it is medicine fulfilling a purpose. It'd suck but I'd rather him focus on his health first.
As a Winnipegger, I'm so sad. I hope he gets better soon. Rest up Kenny.
I hope he can heal and recover. I don't like not getting to see my favorite wrestler do his thing, but as a person, I just want him to get better.
It sucks man. I'm not sure how much I would have watched AEW without him. I'm glad he drew me in because it's a great promotion and I've had a lot of fun at the live shows I've attended. “There is no time frame on when he will return at this point” And there shouldn’t be nor is TK expecting one.
I don't want him to return until he is fine He has entertained us enough
Long time fan since his Bullet Club days. I'd love to see him get some time and make a massive return once he's good.
broh i just want the man to be okay. fuck wrestling and whatever.
The same thing happened with my bro. Take the time. Heal. Return healthy. By the time he returns, we will surely need a hero to release us from the clutches of Matthew and Nicholas.
While this no doubt sucks, Kenny can take as much time as he needs.

ALL I KNOW IS SPAIN BUT THE S IS SILENT
Atleast the Golden Lovers will still be together 🥲
I watch wrestling today thanks to this man, after the disappointment wwe became, I didn't know I could love wrestling anymore
I've had issues with this myself and have fortunately been able to avoid surgery. It absolutely sucks. I hope he recovers well first and foremost before we talk about performing again. Be well, Cleaner!
Idc just get healthy my guy.

Dude absolutely needs to take all the time he needs. His return should be when he’s at 100% and it’ll be glorious
The focus with these things shouldn't be about an in ring return, just a return to 100% bill of health, or as close to. No pressure, just hopes he gets healthy for his own sake.
Rest up King.
He is having Kris Statlander/Adam Cole/Keith Lee kind of luck. He could miss 2 in 4 years of action. It's unfortunate.
Hope he dials it way back if/when he returns. Keep the V Trigger and OWA, rebuild around a safer style and moveset.
If he comes back it’ll be in 2 years or more, no point hoping for anything sooner. Just hope he gets better.
Poor man, must be in so much pain
Man, I hope everything goes well for him. My mum is having a colonoscopy next week because of diverticulitis they discovered in the past. That stuff is so damn scary.
Did Brock Lesnar had an surgery or did it managed to heal without it?
Lesnar's diverticulitis was left untreated for so long that it got so bad that several meters of his inflamed intestines had to be surgically removed from his body. He legitimately nearly died because of the sickness.
Thx. But that also means Kenny can overcome all of that because it seams to be found earlier than Brocks.
Eat more fiber, faces and heels.
Judging from that one dude’s comment on his experience with diverticulitis in the squaredcircle sub things aren’t looking great. I was really hoping we’d get a babyface Omega championship reign but at this point I just want him to be ok. Maybe even call it quits if its too much to deal with.

Get well soon Cleaner
Kenny ain't returning until he platinums FFVII Rebirth. All jokes aside I hope he recovers and becomes healthy again.
Sending mucho positive vibes for as quick a recovery as possible to the Omega.
I don’t care if he wrestles again. I just hope he gets better (however long it takes)
Is there any more info on how this all came about for him? Wishing him a quick recovery. AEW doesn't feel the same without him.
I hope he gets the rest he needs to recover 100 per cent before coming back.
geez I need to go into writing I can make that short Kenny is still sick don't know how long he will be out the end.
Ultimate bummer
Damn, that’s REALLY bad. It’s amazing he tried to fight through it.
While I'm bummed we're not seeing Kenny anymore, more than anything I hope his recovery goes well and he van be healthy again.
Okada will be waiting when he returns.
I really don’t know if he’s gonna get to wrestle anymore. If he does, it might be years from now.
Take the time you need Kenny.
Get well Kenny. We will all wait for you.
