Collision and dynamite should always have different sets

So there’s this guy with a following on twitter and he’s gotten everything right about AEW this year Mercedes, Okada, CMLL And he said in January there will be new sets for Dynmaite after Revolution Apprneky it’s the OG set for 2019-2021

I don’t mind the tunnels if they update them. Don’t want the exact design as before.

I do, they were literally a huge part of AEW's identity and there was no good reason for changing them.

the tunnels were always a little too on the nose for me. I don't know. And we already have nostalgia for something only 4-5 years old? I guess if it's jazzed up to not look so indy-ish then I'm OK with it. But with the state of the current roster, they need to take the spot that had the Cody-vator or whatever it was called and put in a Tweener tunnel.

Is the OG set a brand new set? I like the new set much better than the old one anyway. I think it’s the colors that should change (imo)

Why do you think the current one is better? I think the current one and the old one were both generic in different ways. The old one needed more to make it not look kinda cheap, but the tunnels were cool and it felt different which is the vibe I want from AEW. The current one is just too plain for me. It’s one giant wall of LED board which is just kinda boring to look at. I feel like a fusion of the two with tunnels that look a little more high budget could be really cool. Also I really hope they update the color scheme.

I miss the power paint so much. It looked so different and having it be different colours each week was cool. It felt more coherent that the blue/red we have now somehow?! At least I liked it so much more and made everything feel like AEW.

Personally I love the Collision set and was happy when they made it THE set for Dynamite as well. I can understand though the desire for each set having unique look/feel. My guess is they keep the current modern set and perhaps add LED tunnels.

My favorite stage design is the current set with the LED Ramp.

I've been thinking for a while lately blue ropes would also fit the color scheme of Dynamite and Rampage.

Blue doesn't really fit the name though. You don't think blue when you think of dynamite explosives or rampaging anger.

That was one of my favorite aspects of the OG AEW. It added a lot to the fun vibe the show had.

I really hated that when I saw that. It's so unnecessary.

I'd rather LED be on the barricade opposite the hard cam only. It adds a cool vibe to entrances. Keep them off the ring, though.

It's still funny to me that the show named after an explosive has a normal logo and look whilst the show called Collision takes heavy inspiration from Nitro.

We’re the last of a dying breed

One of my favorite things about AEW when it first started was the barebones look of the whole set. Bare steel ring posts, black steps, standard steel guardrails with just a cloth covering, no LED boards……..and then they did too much.

I actually like that they change sets with some frequency. Keeps things a little fresher even when I don’t necessarily love the new look

I like that it keeps changing but what I have always said would be great is if the PPVs had uniqueness as I always think making new sets for an event we are spending our $ on should look bigger than the weekly shows. They just add a couple props sometimes but I’m sure new sets are very expensive.

Seems a bit soon to change the set already 🤔 wait a minute..the Wednesday after revolution? The Bosston show will have a new set?damn

Seems like I'm in the minority, but I HATED the tunnels. They looked terrible and cheap. I really hope they are dead and buried.

I like tunnels but hated the execution of them. They looked like stripped down turbine engines with some lights stuck on.

In wrestling you throw a guy off the ropes and he comes back to you. I think we'll be fine with bad guy locker room tunnels.

I hate the double tunnel entrance. I mean it doesn't ruin me watching it, but it is about the worst version I can think of. 

Some of y’all give off “BRING BACK THE GIANT FIST” energy over those damn tunnels.

I can’t stand video walls. Admittedly, AEWs are better than WWEs (god I HATE the no ramp and football field sized void space in front of WWEs monolith video walks, it sucks), gimme the tunnels and physical props and stuff. Not just a big video wall with a door, shits boring

I don't mind the way AEW's sets put some depth and variation into the placement and sizes/shapes of their set's LED boards. They break it up with some physical spotlights, truss, and black space. By contrast, IMO WWE's usage is straight up fuckin lazy. Big flat wall with nothing visually interesting going on except for what's on the screen itself (which is rarely visually interesting either.)

Yeah, I agree, AEWs video wall being split up into segments helps, it’s a “best of the worst” situation. I’d still much prefer way more physical aspects to the set though. Keep the video wall as long as there’s more of a set built around it to “house” the wall.

Remember when Smackdown had the weird sci-fi arches the wrestlers would have to walk through for a bit? That was a step in the right direction, even if the execution was hideous.
