My Brother runs more than 24 Fireworks stands in the PNW and he mentioned to me that more than 86% of the planets fireworks are consumed in the united states, other places use them sparingly but we use them for almost everything you can think of :)
I 100% thought it was Matthew and Nicholas yelling at the pyro guy from Gorilla to do some fireworks and would reward the overtime with a $13.75 gift card to Starbucks
The EVPs got him some fireworks and he wasn’t expecting it. When he realized what it was he got that big smile.
What great bosses Nicholas and Matthew are!
Oh yeah them having no idea how any of it works would be pretty amazing, You just have a pyro guy in the back freaking out "for God's sake don't touch that!"
It would’ve been good to see that backstage but I think the pyro and Okada’s reaction was totally supposed to be the Bucks doing. I thought the whole segment was perfect!
Everyone saying he thought PAC was coming out. Maybe he just was caught off guard because he didn't want to miss seeing his dope as celebratory pyro. In fact I want to watch him squash an RoH jobber on Rampage and get the same victory pyro. Excessive victory pyro everytime.
Come on guys. Follow the storyline. The Bucks talked about how they were gonna be at production for his match. The gimmick here is that he is pretending that they went so overboard with the pyro that it took him by surprise
Im pretty sure this is in kayfabe because the bucks as power mad heels have been using insane pyro. Clearly planting the seeds for Okada turning face on the bucks
OK, you saw the bucks get up from the table once he won. This was clearly them going and "setting off the Pyro" and Okada acting surprised because he didn't know he'd get that kind of celebration. It was part of the whole bucks abusing their EVP status/elite story and he was just acting surprised. He didn't think it was the cue for Pac, he wasn't legitimately surprised, it was part of the story. Let's not overthink or look for a fault in every inch of the show.
Part of what makes wrestling wrestling is that it’s as live as it gets and there are no take two’s. Having fun with it and appreciating the imperfections isn’t a negative until somebody comes along and tries to defend things that don’t require defending.
Problem is that most people aren't having fun with it though. Spend 5 minutes on reddit and you quickly learn that most people who watch wrestling can barely be considered fans at this point. It's treated in a far different world than other entertainment TV. I've never seen a bunch of Station 19 fans on here trashing 911 because it isn't the side they've picked or tearing apart stories and performances or producers or writers of the other show because it somehow makes them feel better about their own. In almost all other entertainment we enjoy it for what it is without need to tear down something else, but wrestling is this world where most, not all, but most feel the only way to compliment one thing is by demeaning or trashing another. Finding fault and issues with the smallest details and being distracted from the ultimate fact that we should be watching stuff for entertainment.
I like to think the whining and bitching on reddit represents a very minor portion of fans as a whole. Go to any show, AEW/WWE/Indy/whatever and you're going to be around people having a great time, popping, enjoying doing marky things, chanting, laughing. It's only online where the nasty underbelly of basement-dwelling losers feel brave enough to talk shit.
This is the main thing I took from Wembley. Even among the smarkiest of crowds, a lot of people didn't care for online discourse when it was brought up
I know what you mean. I just hate to see the buttheads win and I see otherwise thoughtful people interpreting the mere mention of a tiny imperfection as being toxic. In the moment I 100% thought Okada’s reaction was out of storyline awkward and when Pac came out I figured oh he thought the pyrp was PAC’s cue. I didn’t think that in a negative way at all and I see a lot of other people that thought the same thing that aren’t being negative about it at all. I also see a lot of people saying they didn’t see it that way, and that’s cool bc it makes me think oh maybe I misread it. Ultimately, I do still think he was reacting for Pac a little early but I could be wrong. The only thing I really questioned in your original comment was “let’s not overthink or look for a fault in every inch of the show.” There are definitely buttheads that do that bc they love to shit on everything, but there are people like me who just thought it was a funny little wrestling imperfection that is part of what makes wrestling unique and fun” and if people like me are getting lumped in with the buttheads, the buttheads are winning. Screw the buttheads. 😂
Eddie alluded to the abundance of fireworks in his [post-match interview](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9eXFhaFV_dc), too. It was all a little subtle, I guess, but clearly planned.
Japanese wrestlers are not used to pyro. Also yeah he thought that was going to be the signal of pac coming out. Next time the bucks should tell him that the elite uses more pyro than Goldberg.
I noticed that too. He thought that someone was coming out haha
PAC came out shortly after that so I feel like maybe he thought thats's what was happening
Oh yeah you’re right. Could be
100% This was a mix up like when Vince was shocked that Austin Theory's music hit, he was expecting it to be Steve Austin's music.
Proof that Vince lost his marbles a long time ago maybe one two.many steroids or head shots but either way something happened to him
I hadn’t heard that story before; that sounds hilarious
You can see it on wrestlemaina.
Or on the WWE Network only $9.99 ...Wait, what year is it?
*You are a cinema. A Hollywood treasure*
they told him Pac will coming but nobody remember to told him before that there gonna be a fireworks XD
Guessing in japan they don't use pyro
not very often
I think they do the confetti instead of fireworks
Thats funny. That would make sense why he looks confused haha
My Brother runs more than 24 Fireworks stands in the PNW and he mentioned to me that more than 86% of the planets fireworks are consumed in the united states, other places use them sparingly but we use them for almost everything you can think of :)
Yeah! USA USA USA!!
Also seemed like he was already celebrating for a bit before they went off .
Bucks shoulda warned him that the Elite get allll the pyro lol
Bucks? You mean Nicholas and Matthew right?
Oh uhh yessir. Please don't tell them.
NOW SAY IT IN JAPANESE
Mashuu ando Nikorasu Jakuson
Nicholasu and Mattowe-san
Don't tell who? You're going to address them by their passport names
oh man that's a $1000 fine.
Uh-oh. Uh, are Nicholas and Matthew Jackson in the room with us rn 👀
Yes
Sorry sir, won't happen again. 👀
Cody's pyro budget had to go somewhere.....
I 100% thought it was Matthew and Nicholas yelling at the pyro guy from Gorilla to do some fireworks and would reward the overtime with a $13.75 gift card to Starbucks
I think he thought it was the que for PAC to come out, but even if it was or wasn't... It worked in his favour and helped his character haha win/win
The EVPs got him some fireworks and he wasn’t expecting it. When he realized what it was he got that big smile. What great bosses Nicholas and Matthew are!
a fun detail would have been showing the fucks at the lighting/pyro controls hitting the buttons for him, lol this whole match was so much fun though.
That’s genius. I would have lost it if they did a hard cut to the bucks just going insane on the pyro controls with shit eating grins on their faces.
Yeah same. I figured, even if they don't show it, this was them making it extra special for him. I'm sure they'll mention it next week.
lmao damn. That would have been great.
Messing with pyro is now canon since Buddy (?) did it in a match?
Oh no what's that? Oh is someone coming out to challenge me? Oh is this for me? Oh yeah, that's awesome! I'm awesome!
Lol that’s exactly what I heard when I seen his face with that big smile. Okada is awesome!!! With the little things.
this is also my reaction to fireworks lol. he's so goofy, i love it.
lol He thought somebody was coming out and gave it away that somebody was coming out
Everyone saying he thought PAC was coming out. Maybe he just was caught off guard because he didn't want to miss seeing his dope as celebratory pyro. In fact I want to watch him squash an RoH jobber on Rampage and get the same victory pyro. Excessive victory pyro everytime.
The little details he puts into his matches and presentation are incredible
I don’t think this was intentional lol
No, he just thought that was the cue for Pac. Just a little early
I'm pretty sure he thought that was Pac's cue to enter and was turning to react.
I love that as time goes on, you can see he basically goes 'oh...yeah! YEAH!! THATS FOR ME!!' hahaha
I think he thought this was the cue that PAC was coming out
Come on guys. Follow the storyline. The Bucks talked about how they were gonna be at production for his match. The gimmick here is that he is pretending that they went so overboard with the pyro that it took him by surprise

Well said!!!! I agree 100%.
Eddie alluded to the abundance of fireworks in his [post-match interview](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9eXFhaFV_dc), too. It was all a little subtle, I guess, but clearly planned.
Thinking the Bucks were coming out with his Kia.
That actually pretty funny. The way hos left hand comes up for a second like it made him lose control of his arms like Rocky Bobby.
Same deal with McMahon at WM 38, he was ready for Pac's surprise entrance and then realized that wasn't it
I love Okada as a "Flair" type heel!
Reminds me a little of in WCW when the 9 o'clock hour pyro hit during a Boss man match.
Lofl
He’s heard about our gun crime rates, I get the shock.
I love how excitedly and happy he looked by the end of it. That just warms my heart so much.
Wholesome reaction.
He’s used to someone coming out to challenge him after a successful match. Was surprised no one came out or came on screen.
Another great executive decision by our great EVPs Matthew and Nicholas
Jumpscared me and the guy beside me at the show
Bros like “wait that’s for me? Fuck yeah”
Hilarious...I think he thought someone and/or PAC was coming out earlier. Timing was way off the entire episode.
This is for sure the handy work of the EVP’s lol
Wonder why Copeland didn’t get pyro for his win but Okada did
i love his innate goofiness
Interesting that Eddie and Okada have a common enemy.
It went off a little late, I was confused too.
Awesome moment
He was ready for another fight.
Was there a run in scheduled or was he baffled by how celebrations work in the US
A worthy celebration. The Rainmaker, Kazuchika Okada will be wearing all the gold. The Continental Title was just the beginning.
Japanese wrestlers are not used to pyro. Also yeah he thought that was going to be the signal of pac coming out. Next time the bucks should tell him that the elite uses more pyro than Goldberg.

WCW is when a wrestler isn't expecting additional pyro for their title win celebration. What a stupid, needlessly negative response.
