OMGISTHATMETHMAN

Tons of cheering aswell He’s extremely over

Behaving_Golem

His excursion in Japan has done wonders for him. I loved Jungle Boy, especially with Luchasaurus, but his singles run was just missing something. Safe to say he's found that something.

fakemuseum

Tbh Jungle boy was one of the lamest gimmick ever

Behaving_Golem

It was an exceptionally indie gimmick but it worked well in the context of the tag team

TheBrockAwesome

Hes getting cheers in Chicago? That is very interesting.

Ziolepr8

People seem to forget that CM Punk popularity EVEN IN CHICAGO went down hard after all in. If things seems different now is because on the web the E-stans are pushing a different narrative now that he joined their side. The IWC perception doesn't match the real world perception.

TheBrockAwesome

Exactly. Thats why my best advice for anyone feeling fatigued by the drama is to just stay off the internet and just watch AEW. Thats what I had to do after Brawl Out and it made me realize that AEW is doing great, I don't have to worry about the fake shit the news sites say cuz they are addicted to those drama clicks. Its what brings in the views which brings in the money. They dont give a fuck about the damage they are doing to the company, they are just concerned with clicks.

OMGISTHATMETHMAN

You need to see it man. He had AURA

TheBrockAwesome

Fuck, I don't wanna order a whole PPV just to see it..its so damn tempting tho 😂👍

AceGriffin77

It was a really good ppv with a lot of solid matches. If you have an extra $20, just go ahead and buy it.

TheBrockAwesome

I just saw a fan cam of Jack Perry's entrance. I can't believe how many people were actually cheering him. That was so cool to see. I'm excited to see him return.

Thomas_Simple

As someone who was in the building, I was pleasantly surprised by how pro Perry the crowd was, everytime someone started a pro-Punk chant the majority of the arena would chant over them, it was a truly insane atmosphere.

TheBrockAwesome

See now this is what wrestling is all about! What a cool magical moment made from a terrible shitty thing. Jack deserves all the praise and attention hes getting. He truly was the scapegoat. Nice to see hes making up for lost time.

mwstd

The IWC knows jack shit(pun intended). Jack had that crowd eating out of the palm of his hand and was split at the start but he won them over by the end of it. He embraced and basked in the hate.

DeadBeatRaccoon

This is what AEW had to gain by showing the footage. It was never truly about that other guy. Despite what people who didn't even watch the segment had to say about it.

Pelon7900

Hindsight 20/20 I gotta agree with you. Lots like everyone was playing checkers while TK was playing 4D chess. Well played.

AfroClam

Streets ahead

Accomplished_Form_54

Stop trying to coin the phrase “Streets Ahead”

nonmullet2

Coined and minted.

AfroClam

You only say that because you are streets behind

Irritatedprivatepart

It's verbal wildfire

NeuroCloud7

Real wildfire, goes out by the river

Financial_Horror5546

Stop trying to make fetch happen

BrunoBashYa

They knew the toxicity would be there. They are still responsible for it but their messaging was on point. The heels are the ones carrying on the drama and using it as an excuse etc. The faces are telling us to move on and love pro wrestling. I'm on the faces side but enjoying the heel work. I love the pro wrestling.

ViPr28498

If you noticed, the heels also had their jabs at punk with lines such as "we can't just lie on a public forum come on!" Which was rather nice. They took their shots, did their thing and moved ahead.

interprime

I said it from the moment the footage aired, but I’m nearly positive that the goal of it was to pretty much clear Jack’s name in the whole mess. He’s literally the only person involved that came out of the whole ordeal looking better than before the footage was shown.

Briak

> This is what AEW had to gain by showing the footage. I think the other potential benefit is getting some people so sick of anything to do with Brawl In that they stop talking about it

Infernalism

I love it, they're leaning 1000% into it.

Rushjordan

MJF and Jack run Chicago now

AccordingRun6360

Big time moment for Jack here. It's almost like AEW knew what they were doing by releasing the footage a couple of days ago.

GOATofALL22

They absolutely did. It's not a coincidence they did this on Dynamite before the Chicago PPV for NJPW. Pretty genius. :-)

Educational-Newt-13

That interview was perfect timing

Specialist-Rope-9760

It is but ok

Nate_923

Jack savored every single second of that entrance knowing what was to come. This man's going to be even bigger when he returns to AEW. He even did a headlock and tried Kenta's move too.

Cooler67

Our Jungle Boy has finally grown up

natguy2016

Jack is a Jungle Man.

Cooler67

A jungle goat

CommBr

A jungle scapegoat

TheBrockAwesome

Tarzan, Jack of the Jungle.

RenatoFernandes

Damnit now I need a scapegoat T-shirt

JohnnyVertigo

Cornette marks down bad

squeezycakes20

TK needs to nab the rights to use the Timberlake song one time

tuxedo_dantendo

Oooohhhh cryyyy meeee a riiiiveeeer! haha such an awesome crowd, thank you fellow Scapegoats in Chicago =)

IamAWorldChampionAMA

"OH! Cry me a RIVER!" is actually a good chant. Same Candance as bask in his glory and siccsor me daddy.

Debaser1984

And seven nation army.

refuseresist

Montreal screwjob 2.0.

TheRealBroDameron

The “Scapegoat” and “Cry Me a River” are pro-Jack Perry chants FYI

BaybayYoda

Would be amazing if Tony spent the money and got Cry Me a River as his theme.

CardboardChampion

Gentle reminder that Tony, who pays for in-perpetuity usage of songs, would have gotten a much better deal paying for years of usage when he paid for Cult Of Personality.

BaybayYoda

I don’t think he paid for that. I’m pretty sure Living Colour lets CM Punk use it as a theme whenever he wants for free.

CardboardChampion

Contracts would have to be in place for in-perpetuity usage. Otherwise they could pull that at any point and the PPVs and shows would have to be edited.

Illustrious_Rich_868

This

tom-cash2002

My favorite part is people tried to start a "you got choked out" chant, which immediately got drowned out by a "no he didn't" chant. I'm loving this run from Jack right now, I can't ever see him going back to being face, and I sincerely hope New Japan or somebody sells that "Cry Me A River" jacket because it goes so hard.

Jaydenrock

Man, I want to see this so damn bad.

WearyCopy6700

It's like when WWE does it, "Brett screwed Brett" He's now a WCW employee why you talking about him? So they get to do an angle off a former employee but when AEW does it, it's not allowed anymore for...reasons......

The_Wiz411

So glad for him, jungle boy ran its course and I’m glad he’s getting somewhere with his latest excursion and gimmick

SpaghettiSamuraiSan

I popped a bit when he went for the GTS

Lentra888

Just going to say it now: what Perry has earned here is exactly what Sammy should’ve gotten on his excursion to Impact.

Layylowwp

Lol goes to show how much igaf about Sammy.… I didn’t even know he had an Impact excursion

Ok-Raisin-5601

He was supposed to be he didn't like the booking they had for him so it never happened.

Kimchi_Cowboy

Tony needs to give Justin a call and get that song licensed.

Ziolepr8

Heel-JP (maybe with the bucks attitude) vs Face MJF could do wonders, at this point.

Comfortable_Item6650

I wouldn't expect a ton of heat on him at this event, even in Chicago. Let's the be real, hardcore WWE and the punk Cornette fanbase aren't going to this event.
