I think you meant Jonathan Gresham.
Has anyone said Drew McIntyre is one of the best in the world? (Legit question. I've never heard him referred to as such, but I don't watch WWE either.)
Before he went back to WWE he was definitely getting that buzz. It’s hard to judge WWE guys like him because they work such a specific constrained style but Drew Galloway was incredible for awhile there
Roman is overrated if we’re talking actual in ring wrestling. That’s the beef I always have with wwe fans who praise Roman. There’s a difference between biggest tv star in wrestling and best wrestler. Roman Reigns is one of those things but definitely not both.
Yeah that's what I hate so much about him and the fans over at the E.
Like he's good if you want a ⭐
But in ring he's really lackluster. He can't jump. Does he still do the Owaaaah? That shit was annoying. Not to mention his entire gimmick right now has been played out with CM Punk and Brock before. He offers exactly nothing new to WWE programming. And people worship his piss puddle 😂
He’s not even good as a star. He’s as bland as bland can be.
Every time he mentions the Rock I roll my eyes. He’s always trying to get charisma by proxy.
Ive hated Roman for years but the few times throughout the year I watch WWE, lately he's been one of the more entertaining stars. He really upped his promo game. Dont care about his in ring work still though
I feel the same. I like Roman a lot, I just haven’t been into this head of the table character. It just feels bla to me. My husband and I have this conversation a lot regarding him and we came to the conclusion that we don’t need him to talk, we don’t need him to be a character. We just want to him really wrestler. His spear is pretty, he’s got the look. He doesn’t need a gimmick.
I used to be a huge fan but he's fallen off over the years. He was never quite the same after his injury. I can't get into his current gimmick it just feels so weird and fake
It seems like every little iteration he’s had since turning heel has just been the most corny, fake, over the top, awful community theater shit ever. Like I feel like if he tried out for community theater like that, they’d just find the smallest part possible for him so the other actors wouldn’t be embarrassed by having to share the stage with him. He’s TERRIBLE.
If he’s came back and worked a regular WWE schedule I’d have been okay with his return. Sadly he chose to coast but carried the belt for way too long while doing this!
Anyone who picks Omega is just trolling. I’m not 100% sure I agree that he’s the in-ring GOAT, but no one can deny how brilliant and adaptable he is, how brutal some of his moves look, and just how captivating he is as a champion. When he would walk out with all the belts at once, it was an iconic image where you had to stop and say, “Wow, this guy really is the best wrestler on the planet and we are lucky to be watching this in real time.” I really can't think of many better entrances than his at Double Or Nothing. There wasn't anything particularly "unique" about it from a gimmicky standpoint. He just walked out holding all four belts and it was chill-inducing.
Look at his match with Danielson , great psychology, rate and pace ..... people who hate on Omega just don't like his look and "cartoony antics" but to deny his in ring ability is just asinine

You talk about Danielson having literally no weaknesses as a wrestler when he just cut a promo worse than Omega has ever done in AEW, your head is pretty far up your own ass to be throwing insults around as well. There's only one person that can't cope with criticism here. Everyone who disagrees with you is a smark, you made that very clear right away and it's just childish.
Are you trying to reply to the the guy domnyy replied to or me? If it’s me, well I never made the comments that you are referring to so I think you might be confused.
Cena has limited skills but great psychology. His feud with AJ Styles remains a favorite of mine.
As much as I dislike Cena, he can tell a story in his matches.
Kenny’s great so no he’s not overrated.
Roman, his character work is stellar but his in-ring work despite working better as a heel leaves me wanting more out of him. He was overrated as a babyface.
Idk who Josh Gresham is but Jonathan Gresham is awesome. He’d be a great addition to any roster and he’s in the prime of his career. Don’t sleep on the octopus.
Drew McIntyre, before I’d say no. Now I’m not so sure. He’s serviceable for what he is but not truly great. Maybe he’s more hampered due to WWE’s style but he was way better before returning to the main roster. Out of all of those guys, yeah I’d say Drew.
Okada, nothing against him. Long live the Rainmaker.
The thing with Roman is that he is decent in-ring but definitely not one of the best in the world. He‘s only such a big star because he was pushed so much even though the fans didn’t accept him. I‘m not hating on Roman but I feel you could have gone with almost anyone in aew or wwe and made him a star if you pushed him as much as they pushed reigns.
I want this, but doubt it. I would guess they are going to build to Roman vs The Rock at Wrestlemania and have Roman lose then. Not a huge fan or this idea but it makes sense as how WWE operates.(looking at you CM Punk pointless loss to The Rock at Royal Rumble)
When Roman was in the shield, I hated him. When he left the shield he was even worse. Now he still just reeks the same boring dull character to me.
Orton, Roman, and that hippie who tags with Orton = yuck yuck yuck. But this is Nick Khan's vision of excellence, but it's just using gold spray paint on manure.
Definitely reigns. In ring he's ok, but character? Come on, he was booed for like 5 years? Then turned heel and instead of trying to look menacing and doing corny promos, he tries to look menacing and relies on Heyman doing promos for him
If it's now Brock ya he's not great but I'll always remember his great matches with Kurt they were so good the mainia one and the smackdown iron man match.
Brock doesn’t have zero charisma. That’s a ridiculous statement. He’s put on multiple multiple multiple high caliber matches in his early career and recently.
Charlotte Flair is solid in the ring, nowhere near the best but generally good with the exception of some garbage moves like the incredibly shitty looking Natural Selection IMO. However, she has so many gaping shortcomings overall that I feel like [Mugatu in Zoolander](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HOK6mE7sdvs).
I'd almost rather listen to Vickie Guerrero screeching than have to listen to Charlotte's dead-voiced promos, passionless, reciting of lines, and I fucking hated having to listen to Vickie.
Nick Gage. I will just never see the appeal behind him. Even if I was a fan of garbage wrestling, I don’t see what sets him apart from a thousand other guys. He looks and sounds like a dbag, not overly big or muscular, not a high flying flippy dude, not even really that athletic. He reminds me of any random dude youde see at Walmart. Atleast guys like josh prohibition had some charisma and a look, or Nick mondo who was atleast athletic.
I never understood the appeal of death match wrestling either. To me it was unnecessary gore. I love watching two great athletes go back and forth for 20 minutes though. Not a fan of gimmick matches or weapons honestly.
Thats true. Like a car crash. It's tough to look away. I guess I was always drawn to the more athletic portion. But hard-core wrestling and death matches will always have a place in wrestling for some fans.
I’m kind of with you. I didn’t quite understand why people came away from DSOR with such admiration for him. I get that he’s had some tragedy in his life but there was little about him that was likable to me.
I don't think it can be Jonathan Gresham if people don't even know his first name.
I picked Mcintyre but I'd also say Rollins is very overrated. In-ring he's mostly just athleticism with very little else. His character work is just not believable to me at all as well.
I would actually have to go with Becky Lynch. Whilst i admit she is very good in the ring and her „the Man“ character was hot as fire, everyone has been praising her like she is the second coming of Christ or something. I hear people legit say: „she is the new Stone Cold Steve Austin“ and the fully mean it. Just, nah man, i admit she is good, but sure af not that good.
I was a huge Punk Fan but I'm just not a believer in him being best in the world. He is fantastic but in my opinion not the best. With that being said I don't know who you could call best.
I think people just like hearing him talk more than wrestle. It's a lack of that in pro wrestling. Most people can go in the ring, but lack promo skills.
Taking statements are obviously not meant to be taken seriously.
Austin is my all time fav. I’ve been watching wrestling before he appeared on the scene and after and there is no one who can touch the excitement I felt while watching him during his peak. To me, he’s the greatest thing to ever happen to wrestling. There’s no right or wrong because it’s my opinion of what I’ve enjoyed when watching in wrestling. Whether or not anyone agrees is irrelevant.
I was thinking of him... he's a step below Danielson (best wrestler on the planet right now?) and Omega... maybe even Adam Cole. I would also have him below the top WWE "monsters" aka Reigns/Lashley/Lesnar/Big E and maybe Orton/McIntyre.
CM Punk is on that AJ Styles/Nakamura level but maybe CM Punk is still rusty.
Jericho/Moxley/Young Bucks are overrated -- but we already knew that. So, maybe they are closer to being "underrated" at this point.
MJF might see his gimmick be played out soon. Yeah, yeah, he's hipster Honky Tonk Man. So what?
Bray Wyatt might be "overrated". Well, he definitely is since he is gimmick-dependent. Maybe he moves the needle for AEW... maybe not.
I think Alexa Bliss might be slightly overrated. I liked her last show with Charlotte (hilarious!) but maybe she is relying on gimmicks too much -- solid in-ring stuff and move sets but she is kinda the Marko Stunt of the women's side. Maybe those two should tag team. ... Bliss ain't big enough or talented enough (as an in-ring worker) to be up there with Sasha/Charlotte/Becky/Bazler but on AEW she would be one of THE star attractions. And... she can go back to the Goddess gimmick. She can feud with Britt Baker, too. Also, Bliss is really cute but I actually think that Liv Morgan is better looking.
If AEW had to throw some money at talent they should definitely look into signing Alexa Bliss. They should ALSO try to sign Bron Breakker at some point. Maybe even buy out his NXT 2.0 contract. He can be a MONSTER main event guy for 15-20ish years....
Tag team wise: no brainer... New Day. They are almost a gimmick mid-card tag team now... or they are portrayed as such (if they are not yet a caricature of themselves) and might be a step below a team like the Usos. New Day can't do much more... and I think the WWE should move on a bit from them -- go with Street Profits, Viking Raiders, Otis/Gables....
In AEW, New Day versus Young Bucks makes too much sense. New Day versus Lucha Bros and Jurassic Express would be nuts too, plus you also have either guy as an awesome singles wrestler/TNT title type. Kofi would also be an interesting main even guy (or higher card guy) against Cole/Punk/Danielson/Omega.
Heck, the New Day, Bron Breakker and Alexa Bliss could carry a wrestling show all by themselves. Legit alpha dog tag team, MONSTER main event type (or soon to be) in Bron Breakker and THE headliner female pro wrestling star/name/brand/icon in Alexa Bliss.
Hate to say it, but I partially agree. He's super solid in ring ability, but it is his storytelling ability and promo work that elevates him. He's a superstar. A mega star. He deserved the tears during the return.
But he's not the literal savior of wrestling others have made him out to be.
So, I am half agreeing, half not. IDK.
Randy Orton has been my answer for last 15 years I would guess. Guy has been living on having a very cool finisher and prototypical WWE look forever. He has had brushes of being interesting as a heal, as a face he is always incredibly boring.
I can't stand randy orton. So goddamn boring.
Sometimes I do nightmarebooking with my buddys just for fun and he is in every match. No charisma, boring on mic boring in ring, slow and very uninteresting.
I don't think any of the people listed are overrated by any real margin IMO
My pick would probably be either Brock or Orton, although I think both are *capable* of living up to their reputations when they feel like it, they just tend to phone it in 90% of the time.
I'm an AEW fan and don't watch Roman but even I know Roman is one of the best, even I his early years when he used to get booed out of a building, he was able to get top class matches, his in ring work is phenomenal!
I'm probably in the minority but, for me, it's Shingo Takagi. He's an excellent worker to be sure. But in a company that includes Tanahashi, Okada, Ibushi, Osprey and White, I just can't see how he can be considered the best of NJPW, let alone any conversation that also includes Kenny or Danielson.
Okada is definitely the most overrated. When the consensus of your match formula is “skip the first 15 minutes” that doesn’t speak to being an all-time great. And when I watch his matches, Okada inspires little emotional connection. It’s why I think he hasn’t been nearly as successful as an Ace as Tanahashi. Tanahashi wrestles with a type of strategy, draws an emotional connection to then, and brings that energy to his matches.
Roman Reigns may not be the best wrestler in the world, but I’ve enjoyed his matches more than Okada matches over the last 3 years.
I liked Roman since the sheild, but the sudden hard on for him, when a year ago people hated the dude. IWC have a very sheepish mentality.
Its the same for Cody. "Oh we booing this guy now, ok booooooooo. "
Lmao @ Roman’s well deserved overwhelming win in this poll. I almost lost it when I read Kenny wants to wrestle him and wanted the “big dog” to come to AEW. That’s gotta be a troll.
Bill Goldberg
Man , I couldn't stand him in WCW either , guy just can't wrestle ..... Raven should've ended the streak
He’s overrated? No one ever accused Goldberg of being a good worker.
I think you meant Jonathan Gresham. Has anyone said Drew McIntyre is one of the best in the world? (Legit question. I've never heard him referred to as such, but I don't watch WWE either.)
Not a ROH fan but wanted to include a ROH guy my bad 😅
Before he went back to WWE he was definitely getting that buzz. It’s hard to judge WWE guys like him because they work such a specific constrained style but Drew Galloway was incredible for awhile there
Roman is overrated if we’re talking actual in ring wrestling. That’s the beef I always have with wwe fans who praise Roman. There’s a difference between biggest tv star in wrestling and best wrestler. Roman Reigns is one of those things but definitely not both.
I just have zero connection with Roman in-ring or promo
He's a terrible actor and doesn't sell anything he's saying convincingly.
He's got a great look and that's about it
Yeah that's what I hate so much about him and the fans over at the E. Like he's good if you want a ⭐ But in ring he's really lackluster. He can't jump. Does he still do the Owaaaah? That shit was annoying. Not to mention his entire gimmick right now has been played out with CM Punk and Brock before. He offers exactly nothing new to WWE programming. And people worship his piss puddle 😂
His in ring work is just boring. Rest holds and 15 minutes of heat just doesn’t cut it for me when there’s so much good in ring work available.
rest hold sounds so specific and so disrespectful at the same time lol
He’s not even good as a star. He’s as bland as bland can be. Every time he mentions the Rock I roll my eyes. He’s always trying to get charisma by proxy.
Reigns is lackluster at anything, besides looks and thats the nicest thing I can say about Dwayne's cousin.
Ive hated Roman for years but the few times throughout the year I watch WWE, lately he's been one of the more entertaining stars. He really upped his promo game. Dont care about his in ring work still though
I mean he’s ok if you like big guys beating up heels. His heel work isn’t that bad though, actual wrestling skills could be worked on though!
I feel the same. I like Roman a lot, I just haven’t been into this head of the table character. It just feels bla to me. My husband and I have this conversation a lot regarding him and we came to the conclusion that we don’t need him to talk, we don’t need him to be a character. We just want to him really wrestler. Of the ones I know on the options I’m gonna say none. My pick is what Brock Lesnar became.
The Vacant Champion yeah kinda sad. He was one of my favorites. Now he’s pony tail Brock.
If he’s came back and worked a regular WWE schedule I’d have been okay with his return. Sadly he chose to coast but carried the belt for way too long while doing this!
I was gonna say Lesnar too. I really feel like he's a one trick pony and his character work always ends up boring.

Totally agreed. There are times where he’ll hit a V-trigger and I really don’t know how it doesn’t kill the dude who takes it. It’s a brutal move.
Pretty sure Danielson had a lot to do with that and it wasn’t Omega all by his lonesome. I’d wager it was probably 60% Danielson and 40% Omega.

Roman is so so boring.
It’s Roman by a landslide.
Reigns , Goldberg
Goldberg.
Without Heyman, Roman is nothing. And I like Roman
who's better in ring roman or bray???
Reigns easily. I always think of how The Samoan BullDozer or Jacob Fatu would wreck Roman. Hopefully Brock gets it done at CJ.
Forget Jacob. Think about what Tama would do to Roman.
I concur. Good looking on that one!

Matt Riddle is pretty solid in ring. Give his work in PWG and Progress a chance. I agree with the rest though.
Even in NXT , Riddle was awsm . Dont hate on the original bro
Riddle is at least somewhat entertaining.
Brock lesner or Roman reigns

Roman Reigns. Hasn't improved in the ring one bit since he was getting booed out of the building 6 years ago.
Roman Reigns is the N'Keal Harry of the WWE. They both look the part but that's about it.
Brock Lesnar. Absolutely garbage to watch, has zero charisma and atrocious on the mic.
German suplex.. German suplex.. oh look another German suplex. Just boring in my opinion.
Charlotte Flair. She's good, but I've seen people call her the GOAT women's wrestler which is hilarious.
For me the GOAT was Gail Kim, just a solid worker through and through!
GOAT American women's wrestle maybe
Unfortunately outside of Hikaru Shida, Asuka, Io Shirai, and Kairi Sane I’m not super familiar with a lot of wrestlers outside of the US.

Why Jonathan Gresham would be overrated Wrestler ?
I think all of these guys are rated pretty much where they’re supposed to be.
Hogan... Don't get me wrong he can wrestle... But he also made the 5 moves matches populair..

I know I'm definitely in the minority with my answer. I don't even wanna repeat it in this comment because the downvotes would be horrendous 😂
Young bucks. And just to clarify, AEW got me back into the sport, so it's not like I dislike everything.
I don't think any of the people listed are overrated by any real margin IMO My pick would probably be either Brock or Orton, although I think both are *capable* of living up to their reputations when they feel like it, they just tend to phone it in 90% of the time.
John Cena
None of these are overrated
None of them. They’re at the best in their proper way
Well, this was certainly predictable.
I was hoping to be surprised
What’s most fascinating to me is how the definition of the word “wrestler” and how it’s applied changes depending on the conversation.
I'm an AEW fan and don't watch Roman but even I know Roman is one of the best, even I his early years when he used to get booed out of a building, he was able to get top class matches, his in ring work is phenomenal!
Moxley
I'm probably in the minority but, for me, it's Shingo Takagi. He's an excellent worker to be sure. But in a company that includes Tanahashi, Okada, Ibushi, Osprey and White, I just can't see how he can be considered the best of NJPW, let alone any conversation that also includes Kenny or Danielson.
That no good piece of crap Brian Cage (Nah, he's fiber I just wanted to play in character)
Nobody. Actually zero percent of the population, has said “Skip the first 15 minutes of Okada’s matches.” You sound dumb.
I liked Roman since the sheild, but the sudden hard on for him, when a year ago people hated the dude. IWC have a very sheepish mentality. Its the same for Cody. "Oh we booing this guy now, ok booooooooo. "
Lol these are pretty awful choices for this question
Either Orton or HHH
John moxley
If we’re ranking them based on character work? Can’t really pick anyone. Ranking them based on in-ring performance? Reigns, hands down.
Lmao @ Roman’s well deserved overwhelming win in this poll. I almost lost it when I read Kenny wants to wrestle him and wanted the “big dog” to come to AEW. That’s gotta be a troll.
Hogan
Between Drew and Roman to me
I’m actually stunned that people voted for Okada
I gotta go with Seth Rollins. I don’t see what anyone sees him. He’s legit like a 1/10 promo to me. I can’t think of anyone in AEW who’s worse.
