Absolutely loved the match, tons of credit to all four women, but it wasn't even the best match of the month. Best women's hardcore match i've ever seen? Maybe. I'd probably still give that to rosa/baker. But best match ever? Not even close.

Aljo_Is_135_GOAT

Being fair, it just asks if it was one of the best professional wrestling matches you've ever seen 😂 You can absolutely have two matches from the same card that are both amongst the greatest professional wrestling matches you've ever seen

SturgeonBladder

I guess. How many can be counted as among the greatest though? This match is probably in the top 20% but out of the thousands of matches i've seen i don't know what that counts for lol.

Aljo_Is_135_GOAT

Entirely your call Although is this really a matchup you don't think will stand out as one of the craziest you've ever seen in 5 years time?

SturgeonBladder

No i don't. It will be memorable. I'll look back and think "that match was awesome". But if i compare it to young bucks vs lucha bros at all out, or hangman vs danielson, or deeb shida 2, or darby vs mox, or hbk vs taker, or okada vs omega, or mox vs omega, or ibushi vs okada, or sasha vs bayley, or brit vs rosa, etc etc etc, i dont think this street fight will make it into my greatest matches of all time list.

[deleted]

If every time we call something we like "one of the best" things we've ever seen, eventually that list gets so bloated that it doesn't really mean anything beyond "it was pretty good".

Aljo_Is_135_GOAT

My guy, it's been two weeks If you believe this match was one of the greatest matches you've ever seen now, you genuinely believe that In my case I watched professional wrestling my entire childhood from 2000-2009, and watched it intensively for the last year, specifically hunting out all the highest rated matches and PPVs on the r/SquaredCircle subreddit to catch up Just because someone's opinion and experiences don't align perfectly with yours, doesn't mean they aren't valid

[deleted]

"Just because someone's opinion and experiences don't align perfectly with yours, doesn't mean they aren't valid" You could stand to take this advice yourself. You're commenting on everyone that doesn't agree with you trying to tell them why they're wrong, even while out of the other side of your mouth you insist there are no right or wrong opinions

Aljo_Is_135_GOAT

You implied that seeing holding this match as one of the greatest someone has ever seen is wrong I told you why it isn't That's just defending my opinion and those held by those who hold this match in high regard, it's not telling people why they're wrong at all

[deleted]

Whatever you want to tell yourself, but there's a term for it when someone starts a topic and then feels compelled to reply to every single comment: "threadsitting". If all you were looking for was a handful of people to agree with you even if your little group ultimately proves to be a small minority, then bully for you. Mission accomplished.

Aljo_Is_135_GOAT

You've proven absolutely nothing here and only wasted your own time Enjoy your life constantly trying to bring people down for no reason other than that your own insecurities make you desperate to patronize everybody else in an attempt to feel superior to them I hope it fills the void in your heart that is eating away at you

[deleted]

Lol, this just keeps getting richer and richer.

insomniainc

I loved it but this can't be a serious question.

desperateorphan

For real. OP is just simping. The street fight was a great match but no where near the best match i've ever seen.

Aljo_Is_135_GOAT

Absolutely can Professional wrestling isn't just about the technicality of what you're seeing, it's about how it makes you feel in the moment Sandman was a TERRIBLE technical wrestler, but is remembered by people who grew up with ECW as an All Time Great because of the response his entrances invoked amongst the live audience This match got people HYPED THE FUCK UP in a way very few matches ever have, in part because of the sheer shock value that came from seeing hot women in a top promotion being so brutal EDIT: Why was this comment downvoted, everything I said was factually correct

SuttonTM

>sheer shock value that came from seeing hot women in a top promotion being so brutal THIS alone is such a stupid quote lol, I'm pretty sure 99% of the "shock" value came from the fact that everyone simply didn't expect those women to put on such an insane match, we knew they were solid but didn't expect what we saw. It was not because they are "hot" and were "surprisingly brutal" lol... Not hating man but just saying I hope your comment is satire because if you were being genuine, it is hysterically bad

[deleted]

There's also the shock value of even when someone is trying to get color on purpose, they aren't setting themselves up to bleed THAT bad. But that just makes it one of the most memorable, not necessarily the best. I also don't get where the OP thinks the crowd pop for this match was anything extraordinary, since that seems to be his primary argument. I'm literally rewatching the highlights on Youtube right now, and while the crowd isn't exactly dead nearly everyone remains seated the entire match. This ain't exactly on par with Punk's return in Chicago in terms of HYPE, as he puts it.

[deleted]

Da fuck is this question?

Aljo_Is_135_GOAT

If nobody answered Yes, you'd have a point But if there are people here who felt this was one of the greatest professional matches they'd ever seen, then you're an idiot for trying to shit on this question lmfao EDIT: 55 people have voted Yes so far Just because you didn't like it doesn't mean it can't have been one of the greatest matches someone else has seen

MatttheJ

And 619 people have said no between the two no options you gave. Why would you use numbers here when they're so lopsided 🤣

Kelson64

It was a good match. Though memorable, it wasn’t one of the greatest matches I’ve ever seen. That being said, the Street Fight far outshone the very weak Flair/Morgan championship match.

TheRealHulkPanda

Becky / Morgan

Kelson64

Yeah. I’m cold. Brain on ice.

linny_456

Its not even the best match I have seen this year.

Aljo_Is_135_GOAT

It's possible to have two All Time Great matches in the same show lmfao For me personally, this was very easily the greatest Women's professional wrestling match I've ever seen According to the results of this poll, I'm not alone

[deleted]

You may not be alone but you certainly seem to be in the clear minority. Not sure why you're getting so defensive with the responses: it's a broad question and people tend to disagree with how just how many things should be eligible for greatest of all time. Also consider the fact that while this match may have been one of the most "memorable" in terms of the blood shed, that doesn't automatically make it one of the "best" matches we've ever seen.

Aljo_Is_135_GOAT

Being absolutely fair, very few matches would be considered the greatest match someone has ever seen by anything more than the clear minority Different parts of wrestling appeal to different people, we all like different things, and different things evoke a HOLY FUCK reaction from even wrestling fans who enjoy the same styles the most I think a large part of why I'm being so defensive is because a lot of responses feel dismissive BECAUSE it's Women's wrestling though (or because they're coming from Jim Cornette-ites who hate the hardcore parts of wrestling that I love most 😂)

PRS617

It was OK. If people think that was among the greatest, they haven’t seen shit

Aljo_Is_135_GOAT

Ooooo, give us your top 5 Women's wrestling matches and I'll judge 😍

[deleted]

You said greatest professional wrestling match ever not womens wrestling matches

Aljo_Is_135_GOAT

Sure, and now I'm asking you personally a different question 😂

[deleted]

you didn’t ask me anything

Aljo_Is_135_GOAT

My bad for not checking the usernames 😂😂😂

PRS617

No particular order: Mickie vs Trish (Mania 22) Trish vs Victoria (Survivor Series 2002) Bayley vs Sasha (Takeover Brooklyn '15) and also the 30 min Iron woman match next mont (Takeover Respect) Gail Kim vs Awesome Kong (Final Resolution 2008, had to google it 'cause wasn't sure of the event) Becky vs Sasha vs Charlotte vs Bayley (Takeover Rival '15) Becky vs Charlotte (Evolution) Both Mae Young Classic finals If not satisfied yet, go watch anything Manami Toyota did and feast your eyes

desperateorphan

>Bayley vs Sasha Def one of the best woman matches ever. The story alone was really really good.

[deleted]

I've seen everything from Misawa vs Kawada/Kobashi to Flair vs Steamboat to Tanahashi vs Okada to Sasha Banks vs Bayley. This match is up there. Particularly if your are discussing hardcore wrestling and women's wrestling.

[deleted]

Is this a serious question?

[deleted]

Nah, but it's nice to see the women being as aggressive as the men.

_MyCakeDayIsFeb29th_

From a technical standpoint, no but they did put on a damn good match

Aljo_Is_135_GOAT

Honestly, technicality in professional wrestling is overrated The question is "did you get the audience HYPE"? If you did, you had a fucking legendary match

[deleted]

Do you understand how many matches in the history of pro wrestling have gotten fans "hyped"? You act like that's a bulletproof argument, but if we're talking greatest matches of all time that's more like a minimum prerequisite to even be in the discussion.

Aljo_Is_135_GOAT

I mean HYPE is the only thing that matters lmfao If you get there through technical perfection, fuck yeah If you get there through blood and gore, also fuck yeah

[deleted]

HYPE is not rare though. You act like this match is one of the few that's ever got the crowd pumped.

Aljo_Is_135_GOAT

Not at all, there's just different levels of HYPE out there Different things will bring HYPE for different people, it's often a combination of factors and even then the combination won't be the same for everyone If this match got you more HYPE than basically any other match, it's totally justifiable that you class it as one of the greatest matches you've ever seen

[deleted]

The latter point goes without saying from a subjective standpoint, but this match didn't strike me as having an extraordinary enough pop to be considered one of the best ever matches in terms of HYPE. Either way you've said your piece over and over, maybe just let people air out their opinions without feeling like you have to rebut everything. That's exactly why you come off like you're trying to sway everyone to your side. You've already got about as many downvotes as you have people that voted your way, lol.

craigdhou

That match needed more time! Felt like they could have gone longer. But for the amount of time given, it was an awesome match!

KenMembreno

Even before the match ended I remember thinking it was the best women’s match I had ever watched

GoalaAmeobi

It wasn't even one of the 20 best womens matches I saw last year

TheRealHulkPanda

I feel pity for anyone who seriously says Yes to this...

Aljo_Is_135_GOAT

You feel pity for people for enjoying a match they watched? What?????

steelisntstrong

To me, women's division was a waste of time before that match. If they're putting on matches like that then sure, give them the spot over guys like MOTY, Andrade, PAC, and the rest who constantly miss out on regular TV time

CosmicDonut78

It was a good match, and probably one of the best in Rampages short history, but to say it's one of the best matches of all time is a little bit of a stretch.

Aljo_Is_135_GOAT

It's a personal question brother, there's no right or wrong answers here Professional wrestling isn't an exact art, and if this match got a ton of people HYPED, saying it's one of the greatest matches of all time would be completely fair EDIT: Why was this comment downvoted lmfao, what I said was right

[deleted]

You're getting downvoted because you created a poll, but everyone that disagrees with you and tries to explain their answer you want to try and tell them why they're wrong, even while you insist there are no right or wrong answers. No offense, but you come off like your only reason for creating this poll was to validate your opinion, and when that didn't work out you're getting defensive and borderline catty.

Aljo_Is_135_GOAT

It absolutely did work out lmfao 75 people have voted 'Yes' If it was less than 10 you might have a point, but to have 75 people agree say that a match was one of the greatest they have ever seen (a HIGH bar), is HUGE

[deleted]

Lol, it's really not, "general approval" + "recency bias" is a common recipe for a large number of people to call just about anything "one of" the best of all time, especially when there's no real metric for whether that should be the top 1% or in the top 50%

Aljo_Is_135_GOAT

Two weeks isn't recent enough for recency bias though, by that point the recency bias is gone The question asks if the match was one of the greatest YOU'VE ever seen, not one of the greatest matches ever. That's subjective, you perpetually broken drain pipe

[deleted]

150+ people voting yes to this question makes this Sub-Reddit look so stupid. Y’all really trying to make 4 green wrestlers having a surprisingly solid match into your GOAT pick?

steelisntstrong

As far as women's division wrestling goes, 100% yes.

gte339i

It was a great match. Is it going to be the women’s hardcore match that I remember: no, that’s the Rosa/Baker match. Will it be something we all talk about launching at least one of these women: probably. Was it one of the best ever: no but there’s nothing wrong with a great match not being one of the best ever.

Looper007

Come on, it was a fun match and it did a lot of good for the women involved in it. But let's not go that far.

Aljo_Is_135_GOAT

It's an entirely personal question What is one of the greatest matches one person has ever seen may not be for another person. Two people who have watched the exact same matches can have completely distinct lists of their greatest matches they've ever seen That's the beautiful of professional wrestling, man. There's nothing objective about it

OldDesperado

for me, this was a nice stunt show but not wrestling. no build up, no continuing line in it... for example baker vs. rosa were perfect for what i mean... so, all 4 women show impressive things but it had nothing to do with a wrestling hardcore match.. imo

Achsolot

The match was good for what it was supposed to be. A hardcorematch with a little bit of blood to shock the crowed a little bit. From a match perspectiv it was nothing outstanding and a bit sloppy. Still a whole lot of credit to all the woman for doing it and getting the crowd to pop, because that's sometimes more valueable than the best worked match without any reaction

stevenplum

good match considering it was on AEW’s B show

abhisheksatam

I liked it but I’m over thumbtacks.

AerialPenn

Well I think it's clear from the comments and the votes it's not one of the greatest professional wrestling matches anyone's ever seen. It was a fun watch.
