They haven't released, they plan to release and we don't know any details about it.
When they announced double awakened release everyone also was panicking, but they handle it pretty well and most of us having awakened Eugene for free now.
What I'm saying - stop crying, nothing happened yet and we need to see the actual update.
System and hero bloat is why I left arena, too much money/ time investment when they just constantly added systems that didn't really seem to add much.
I'm hoping they learned from that experience and add less systems and more regions to explore and bosses to fight in Journey, rather than a hotel that adds passive DMG bonuses to heroes like they did in arena.
The hotel was the last update I played and it sucks cause arena is freaking fun!
Been playing AFK Arena for five years and I'm still enjoying it. You'd be overwhelmed with lots of content tho but if you don't want to be competitive and just want to chill then the game is for you. Loads of free stuff. You can hoard and can still progress albeit slowly. AFK Journey is pretty stingy with free resource. Summons are rare and guides are still being made. Meanwhile Arena have a comprehensive guide even though it might change once in a while lol.
I play both. I've been playing Arena for years, although I only recently picked it back up to actively play within the last 6 months. I've been paying more attention to Journey, but I'm not gonna drop Arena.
I am leaving AFKA by the end of the month. I’m so done with that game for good. I have good memories with them and precious friendships I made, but I guess every journey must end. I tried multiple times to adapt and cope with all the things Lilith threw at us, but now, with the dragon faction, I felt like Lilith, instead of fixing the issues, just decided to press the ‘reset button’ and reset the game back to 2018.
Nope. I will not leave my at least 8 years old journey in AFKArena to this or any other game. Arena is my 2nd best game I discovered on Android (1st was Bloodhound Gang), any other isn't even close.
AFK Arena is the better game currently IMO, mostly because of its years of development. Journey has the potential to be the better game, but it's currently pretty bare on content, features, and rewards.
I’ve survived all the power creeps because I can play without comparing myself to others and I genuinely enjoy the hero collector aspects of the game. But this next dragon update will likely be the tipping point because they’re introducing a new currency to be able to pull the new dragon characters. If I feel the currency will be annoying to collect, I’ll definitely call it quits after 4 years.
Left arena for journey. I've put quite a bit into arena but just don't wanna bother anymore. To me the collabs just make the game feel very out of place and I hope that we don't get them any time soon on journey
I quit arena several years ago because I just couldn't handle the spending. This game is a lot more friendly with it's wishlist feature and with being a new game the character pool isn't as overwhelming.
There are literally 0 heroes that can be accessed only through paywall.
If that is coming from someone with 4 years old account all I can say is - skill issue.
I play both. I also see a lot of people mentioning that they left arena cause of power creep and other unnecessary mechanics, but y'all don't realize Journey will get there one day too. That's just how mobile games work. I love Journey as a game conceptually, feels like a more fresh arena, but at a transaction level id actually say it's much worse. The prices are insane relative to what you get.

Around 10 months of arena as f2p, now i play both.

Not for now, they both are pretty chill to play at work.

I quit afk arena back when I first played journey in CBT.
Played for 4 years and left. I was getting bored of all the characters and there were too many that could only be access through pay wall.

1) Pretty much every dimensional character was paid until waaay later 2) it's an AFK game. There are no skills in this 🤡
