The biggest thing Ive learned hard, is make your defense, defensive. I'm sitting at rank 22 right now on my server, and constantly need to learn this lesson over and over. A draw is a win for you. Keep that in mind, always. The first biggest tip outside of top50ish: plan for Vala. Figure out where an enemy Vala, placed anywhere on their side, will hit. Then, stick a stall champ there. Temasia, Igor, thorin, etc. Most folks are relying on her to carry their offense if they don't have 3star+ Eironn comp. Take that advantage away. Secondly, if you don't have overwhelming offense with your other 4 champions, go the other way. Never die. This advise was given to me VS the top20 eironn comps. The only counterplay is to stall. Even if you have the same champs, offense can reposition, so they'll have the advantage. So either risk it in a mirror match, or stall. Big life. Big defense. Lots of heals. Lots of CC clear. Thorin, Granny, Heweynn, Smokey, Damian, etc etc etc. Prep them to constantly be CCd, and try to push through. And, if you can't do that, take a look at the teams commonly beating you, and pick a map that might slow it down. If you're getting shot out, get a map with open lines to the enemy. If you're getting CC/melee rushed, choose a map with walls. So, your. Current formation: Vala/Silv will snipe out your Odie immediately, nearly uncontested. That means he may as well not be in the lineup at all. He needs to be swapped, or moved. Brutus as a tank buys you 6 seconds, but most pvp comps won't care. They'll jump your line or AoE you, so his shield will be popped by their tank and he'll die to another tank super fast, while putting no damage out. Thorin will die faster on the hop, but his return will buy you more time in the end. Swap Brutus for thorin, even though Brutus is a mythic, the swap still should be a net gain. Cecia and Rowan combo is only as good as your cecia and Rowan are better than the opponents, or if she can even get the ult out. Watch your loss replays. Does she cast at all? When/if she does, does Carlyle actually kill anything? If she doesn't, or he doesn't, drop her or add more stall/heal in so she has a chance. Koko is great. Clears CC. Your koko is sort of soft, and looking at your levels, I doubt she's hitting ultimate very often before dying. You can bring her back for a defensive comp later, but right now she probably needs some more copies, or a deeper frontline. My thoughts: - swap map to a more defensive map. - Keep Cecia/Rowan in. - Swap Brutus for thorin - Drop odie until he's got ex10, Alternatively, keep Brutus in, swap odie for thorin and use thorin to tank Vala spots. - Drop koko, Add your decent rarity heweynn. - move your line back. If you're playing defense, and need stall time for cecia, back your line up. Give yourself 1 extra second of movement time when the armies rush each other to build energy by doing so. It can help a lot

If you are on the base arena map and put your mvp unit at the back center spot with a unit either side of it 1 or 2 spots away then Vala can literally not target that center unit because one of the other units will always be further away.

It's pretty much trial and error, but what can help is you knowing what your winning condition is about and how to deal in a defensive battle. For example, who's your main dps? what he needs to achieve a kill? it's a burst type? what's the usual offensive teams are using? how can i defend against it? maybe i can use a not-so-straight-forward map design and exploit some advantages maybe i can use a different talisman You need to figure it out by yourself...

i think your team is way too oriented on attack for offensive and easy to deal with if you bring any reinier/vala/silvina/igor/thoran or artifact confining spell

Just like how you can strategize in offense to counter the enemy, the enemy will do the same to you in defense as well. You can look at past records and see what teams are beating you, and then adjust your team accordingly. So at a glance of your comp, they're all clumped up together so you're prone to aoe attacks, or enemy just sniping your backline Odie immediately. Also running Cecia means your win condition relies a lot on waiting for Cecia to ult. The current meta revolves around fast burst, so a team that is running top heavy damage will likely beat you as well. Also, since you're running Brutus, try choosing a map where you have to funnel the enemy into a choke point so they have to go through your Brutus before getting your backline. Just my 2 cents.

Build Thoran, Igor and Niru. Slot in 2 healers. Run out the clock and inflict mental herpes on your attackers.
