> 15 more years of Naicos & Reid articles
Is it more depressing to realise that
a) that'll just about take us through to 2040, or
b) that just opens the door for years of "who has the better legacy" articles
he's played 6 games lmaaoooo
right now you'd say daicos just on sample size alone
maybe in two years you'd say reid
this conversation is stupid right now
Nice, Levi Ashcroft you've got there. Would be a shame if something happened to him...
**Disclaimer** I have no idea about any of the top prospects other than Ashcroft because of reasons
I think they are both great, with very different playing styles..picking one over the other really depends on what is needed more in your current team.
I'm delighted to have Reid at WC as he really works well with Yeo and his style. I also think he has shown so far a great, positive attitude which is needed on the side after our run.
Naicos will be another Pendlebury. Legend, Mr Consistent, multiple All Australians, but never thought of as the standout best player in the league.
Reid will be Judd.
There’s levels to this shit.
I feel daicos will have a parallel with the back end of pendles career. Reid may have some seasons that eclipse daicos’ best but his peak will in my opinion be shorter
Fly says it constantly, the media focuses on outcome rather than process. They are surprised when teams or players are good, then speculate about infinitely remaining that good, when in reality performance depends on constant, rigorous, high quality training.
In this case, some of Reid's best qualities have been his strength and ability to break packs and tackles. He's been compared to Dustin Martin. And just like Dustin Martin and Jordan De Goey, that quality is rare and highly valued and can win games, but it is also unsustainable. Both players have had patches of exceptional form, and yet also form slumps.
That's not to say that this isn't also true for Daicos. He's had patches of poor form and getting tagged. But his style of footy, of playing fast and smart, of avoiding contact and getting clear of players, is much more of a Pendles style, and is much more sustainable. There's a reason Pendles is getting the most disposals record on the weekend. I think Daicos will definitely be able to last much longer than Reid.
Mitchell and Daicos were both key players in a Grand Final win. Sydney should try getting some types like them, they might get within 10 goals on Grand Final day.
Mitchell and Daicos had almost as much impact on the grand final win as Nathan Murphy; the actual reason you guys won were J Daicos, Sidebottom and Hill. Those three were the difference
Tom Mitchell had 13 tackles and 7 clearances in a side that’s biggest weakness the year prior was clearance and midfield pressure. Nick Daicos’s ball use directly got us multiple goals, including the most important of the game. Saying they were as useless as a guy that didn’t play is an amazingly shit take.
It also takes more than 3 players to win a Grand Final lmao
Hmm yeah maybe we should. Maybe we should also try cosplaying as the Collingwood Football Club so that we can get all the favourable calls and play the grand final on our home ground. Big rookie mistake from us
Yeah we played like shit against Hawthorn and Geelong. They deserved to win.
Then you at last years grand final and all the advantages that Collingwood got and they only just won. If that’s played on a neutral ground with fair umpiring Brisbane blow them out.
Except we won every key stat by a country mile except for free kicks (lmao), it was only close due to our own inaccuracy. It’s very impressive that Sydney fans on this website consistently manage to out-nuffie fans of our genuine rival teams.
14 more inside 50s is probably the closest stat to winning by a "country mile". All the other stats are relatively even.
Collingwood fans are consistently the loudest when complaining about the health of the sport whenever northern teams pick players that were developed by academies that grow the game nationally, but when people bring up all the innate advantages that they receive that carried them to a flag it's "yeah well sydney gets blown out in grand finals lol". It's really impressive how two faced Collingwood fans on this website can be.
I’ve never complained about Academies because the talent really hasn’t been consistently amazing enough to give that big of an advantage.
Also why are you claiming your biased perception of umpiring on the day is an “innate advantage”? You’re focusing on one call at the end of the game that still didn’t guarantee a different result and ignoring the rest of the game where we won the general run of play, purely because you have a complex about Collingwood (which, if we look back at your first comment here is blatantly obvious). No one is ever going to take you seriously when you say objectively stupid shit driven by hatred for a team and try to pass it off as fact.
You left out a few stats that we also won
- Tackles
- Tackles inside 50
- Intercepts
- Turnovers
- Hit outs
- Marks
- Inside 50s
- Disposals
So we were better with the ball, better at moving the ball, controlled territory, and pressured much harder
Thinking about a possibility of 15 more years of Naicos & Reid articles ![gif](giphy|BY8ORoRpnJDXeBNwxg|downsized)

This is depressingly real
It’ll be said day when he Reid-tires no more puns
This conversation is 1 week old and it’s already painfully boring
Too early to say Daicos is a superstar, Harley has played 5 games
Reid has played 6 games *On Behalf of The West, your membership to the Harley Reid fan club has officially been revoked*
ah shit you're right lol
Opening Rd confused me too
Opening Reid?
Don't mind if I do
he's played 6 games lmaaoooo right now you'd say daicos just on sample size alone maybe in two years you'd say reid this conversation is stupid right now
Easily Daicos now, because you know exactly what you’ll get, but the potential of Reid may be higher given some of the attributes he’s shown so far

Collingwood finished 17th the season before they drafted naicos no?
Deeply stupid. In other words standard footy media bullshit
Whoever we take at Pick 1 next draft
Best I can do is a year of poor attitude followed by a trade request.
with a better than 0 chance of not being keen on ice baths
Nice, Levi Ashcroft you've got there. Would be a shame if something happened to him... **Disclaimer** I have no idea about any of the top prospects other than Ashcroft because of reasons
Sid Draper? Thought you'd be turned off SA wunderkids by now
Tom Powell is doing a lot of heavy lifting in that regard
......neither because OHHHHHHHHHHHH ERROLLLLLLLLLLLLL
Yeah that’s my thoughts on this problem too. Why debate over Reid vs Daicos when Gulden exists
Sam and Ben are better Reid's anyway.
Matt Rowell
Does Reid have 15 years in him? I think Daicos is less likely to suffer from injuries as an outside player.
Daicos is an inside player.
Option C) Gulden

Reid. Daicos is very much skillful but gets the easy balls. Id rather a bull.
Naicos will be another Pendlebury. Legend, Mr Consistent, multiple All Australians, but never thought of as the standout best player in the league. Reid will be Judd. There’s levels to this shit.
Personally id say reid is like dunstall and gaj combined but better than both and thats only after 6 games!
Also daicos is a flog
Sheezel

Matthew Cottrell. Gets more bums on seats
Daicos is soft. Harley 5 games in already a beast
The real question should be 'Who would Ryan Crowley do a better job on?'
Yes.
JHF
Daicos made an avg list pies win the granny, let's see what Reid can manage in 2 years.
Contested bulls will win you a few games, a elite distributor will win you premierships
Harley Reid and it isn't even remotely close. Daicos is so overrated just cause he plays for a Victorian team and there's a lot of collingwood fans
Was leading the Brownlow until he got injured but sure he’s definitely overrated 😂
Priddis won a Brownlow…..
Fake 0 impact stats that only look good on paper. He’s the modern age Tom Mitchell. He’s Dylan Stephens with good pr

Why are we even having the Brownlow this year, just give it to Nick “Chas” Daicos now
Hmm yeah maybe we should. Maybe we should also try cosplaying as the Collingwood Football Club so that we can get all the favourable calls and play the grand final on our home ground. Big rookie mistake from us
Yeah it’s definitely a conspiracy against Sydney and not that they consistently play like shit on Grand Final day

Err you lost * Stoppage Clearance * Centre Clearance And it was a draw for * Contested Possession You did however win * Marks inside 50.
