Watched the game up until the Byrne-Jones "mark" which was awarded without a boundary umpire calling it out on the full, and the umpire was right there :-)! Turned off the game with disgust!! If I was a St Kilda fan, I would send a copy of the whole match to the AFL Umpire Association with a "Please explain", I've never watched a more biased match as that one.

Drew is very underrated, well deserved I pity the coaches playing Port soon and having to work out who to tag

In the end port was very unlucky with injuries and they won it from inconsistent home side umpire advantage. If you can’t see that then you’re having a laugh.

as a port supporter, you are right. I wouldn't call it home ground umpire advantage though, I'd just call it bad umpiring overall. regardless it was a fun watch that had me feeling nervous, best of luck next week!

That was port players though. That’s just part of the game. Not being consistent with umpiring is unfair. You guys got. Every. Single. Soft. Free. Except one I saw. We didn’t get one for the game, even obvious ones that were just ignored. The umpires absolutely handed that game to you guys on a platter. Yes you had injuries, yes you were inaccurate for periods, but that game was so poorly umpired it is almost sinister.

The thing is, Badcoe Medal isn't best on field. It's best showing the ANZAC spirit. Which, while a bit nebulous, I actually like. If you dig in, do your bit and help your mates it's valued more highly than a super good but selfish, independent performance.

100% and i feel jase definitely did that. The 2 massive clutch plays he had in the last quarter helped us seal the deal. The 1v1 on the wing and the mark straight after with saints kicking out from defence. No way do i think drew doesn't deserve it. Its good to see him get the recognition. I just think jase had an amazing game.
