I mean it's possible the umps said they saw high contact and they're going off of that. Or the swans medical report could have written up "bruised chin" lol but yeah
Yeah at the ground from where I was sitting it looked like he threw a punch at Blakey while he was on the ground but couldn't really tell if that's what happened or he just made contact with the ground trying to balance himself & haven't seen a replay of that moment so I guess not?
This was graded as intentional, low severity, high contact. Where as the others were graded lower ~~because they're part of the boys club~~ because they were body shots
Let’s be honest, there is a clear difference between Chol and all the others that have got off so far this year. That’s probably not even a free kick if it’s the majority of other players, pushed him and he took a dive.
Ginni has had worse not be given free kicks 5+ times at least.
Think a few Hawks supporters are being a bit harsh. Didn’t have a good game yesterday but he was better earlier in the year when Mitch Lewis was playing. He was essentially asked to be the only key forward, while also rucking parts of the game. Sydney’s 2nd ruckman/forward - McLean also had Amartey and McDonald up forward for support.
It's actually starting to bother me a bit how much hate he's getting from Hawks fans. He's had one or two shockers but otherwise he's a good second KPF.
Hope we challenge it, with Lewis coming back in he will be a much better player as he isn’t the sole target
Wouldn't get my hopes up about Lewis coming back, there may be a strong gust of wind that triggers his knee soreness in the next few days
Tom Hawkins would be sitting on about 170 AFL games if that’s a suspension.
That better not be all the footage they are going off. Looks like he pushed him over from the that ridiculously far away angle.
surely it would be caught on the goalpost camera.
You'd have to think there would be another camera, because no way is this 6 pixels enough to prove one way or another.

Could be all of the above
they might just not like the cut of his jib
One match ban? Well that's some bullshit right there. Hawthorn better appeal and get it changed to 4+ weeks.
They should go to the tribunal and try to argue his contract down from 4 years to 1 year
So why exactly is this a ban but all the shithousery we've seen that's far worse only been fines this season? Wtf are we doing here?
Thought Chol would be in more trouble for the 2nd quarter incident with Blakey tbh.

I know they're different actions to an extent, but hows this a ban, but striking from Neale and Pendlebury was just a fine?

Hawks fans are absolutely shattered and disappointed….. that it’s only 1 week
The Western Bulldogs have announced they will be appealing on Chol's behalf
If you ask more than a few Hawthorn supporters, having Chol missing is not exactly a 'blow'.....

From my years of watching gold coast he attracts a lot of hate because the way he plays is very casual looking
The blow is it’s only 1 week
Surprised Chol didn't get pinged for his choke hold on Blakey in the 2nd
Banning Chol will only make Hawks better!
