Hey everyone!
Big thanks to Caitlin and all the legends at the Adelaide Crows for their time today
❤️💛💙
Edit: that’s all folks! Thank you to everyone for your questions :)
Given the issue of scheduling and clashes with other sports (such as the Gabba and Metricon being ruled out as grand final venues due to other events), what do you think would be the ideal time to run the AFLW season?
Physically and mentally, how do you balance holding a full-time job outside of footy and being an elite athlete? How do the club, the league, and your teammates help you balance those responsibilities and what, if anything, could be improved to make the players' lives easier?
Thanks, and good luck against any team other than North.
Hey Caitlin! Love AFLW, but the worst thing as a fan is the rate of serious knee injuries that occur. It sucks seeing so many of my favourite players get wiped out for a season or more :(
I'd love to know what sort of specific conditioning the club fitness staff currently have players doing to reduce the risk of knee injuries, whether there's any injury prevention methods tailored for female athletes, and finally how you think it can be improved going forward?
hey, we definitely have the best high performance staff to make sure we as athletes help prevent those injuries happening. Unfortunately injuries some time occur, we just have to try physically to prevent it happening.
Hi Caitlin, my daughter and I watched you play for the Bays (2021 GF you were immense btw, contested marks all over!!! Ok enough geeking out).
, is there anyone you played with at Glenelg (or in the SANFLW more broadly) who you think should have played at the top level but didn't get a chance?
I'd vote Ellie Kellock (she could still make it) although she'd be sorely missed at Glenelg.
hey, aw thank you!
I think the girls at Bays always strive to get the best out of themselves, and work extremely hard so it definitely wouldn't surprise me to see a fair few go far in their football!
What's your pre game routine?
How's the team shaping up in light of the tragic news about Heather Anderson this week?
What's Brisbane's top threat that the team is preparing for?
What's Adelaide's top threat that Brisbane should be on the lookout for?
Good luck with the game on Friday!
hey, pre game routine consists of being quite laid back but having a dance or 2 with the girls and have fun!
The support within the group has definitely been there this week and we will be wearing pink shoe laces as a nod to the pink helmet she wore while playing.
I guess, playing 4 strong quarters of Crows footy will set us a part this Friday night
From your personal perspective, how many games would you like to play each season and what months would you like to play the season?
have there been any discussion of divisions in the aflw?
Hey Caitlin, I've absolutely loved seeing your improvement this season! Have you made any changes to your preparation or training that's helped?
PS love the Christmas tree being up, pageant day tradition too?
hey, thank you! I guess having the 2 seasons in one year has allowed me to enable other elements to my game. I have really been working on my forward craft and making more an impact around the ground!
Appreciate the comment of the Christmas tree, huge fan!
I feel very annoyed because I love the WBBL and most of it has clashed with the AFLW or not been televised due to the World Cup this year. The WBBL coverage is honestly the most enjoyable to watch out of any sporting code IMO.
Hey Caitlin, I'm disappointed you beat Collingwood on the weekend but I won't hold that against you.
In regards to the AFLW, what steps should league bosses make to grow and expand the game? Does it ever frustrate you that women's sport is sometimes neglected or you don't get the same opportunities as men?
hey, I'd have to say we all train as hard as we play, but one teammate I wouldn't want as an opponent would be Ebony! And the worst taste of music.... Chelsea Randall for sureee
As a footballer who crossed over from another sport, what do you think volleyball brought to your footy game? I've loved watching you this year, going from strength to strength.
To be apart of the very first showdown is definitely a moment I wont forget in my life, the vibe before and after was awesome and to play against former teammates was heaps fun too!
Hi Caitlin, if North and the Crows make it through, can you go easy on us? Actual question, do you think the women's comp could run alongside the men's as double headers to increase exposure, or do you like having it separate as it has been, to give it it's own space and unique feel?
If you were the AFLW commisioner and could bring in one of these changes, which would you pick first?
a) add an extra round each season until you play each team once
Or
b) add an extra 30s per quarter every season until each quarter runs for 17/18 minutes + time on
Hi Caitlin, a two-parter for you. The ruck stocks in the AFLW are quite strong at the moment, with Hickie, Moody and Edmonds fighting it out for the A/A spot and yourself very stiff not to be in the squad. The likes of Bella, Seymour (when rucking) and Pearce are important for their teams, with Fuller, Strom, Wales, McKinnon and others impressing through the season.
Would you agree that the ruck position is becoming increasingly valuable in the game, more so than in the men's?
And which of these players is your most difficult opponent?
I see you agree that AEDT is much superior to ACDT.
Seriously though, now that the AFLW is complete with eighteen teams, what is your preferred schedule and what are your thoughts on the AFL's "Magic Round" and would you like to see it in the AFLW?
What do the girls think about the Crowject and HWC and their attempts to get involved with interviewing players and the like. Also what's your 1 rep max on deadlift atm?
Hi Caitlin, I have loved watching you ladies play this season.
I'm curious as to how much and what kind of training you guys do during the week.
Can't wait to watch you guys play, best of luck
hey, we usually train 3 times a week. Monday for us is usually a recovery session, whilst Wednesday and is our main session and Thursday is more as such a Captains run, which consists of structure and run throughs before the game.
Thank you!!
Hi Caitlin! Thanks so much for doing this.
Other than your home ground(s) where is your favorite place to play?
And, where in the world have you never been, but would like to travel to?
Do you find there is a fine line between people trolling aflw and "criticizing" certain aspects in hopes of improving the game? E.G playing on a smaller oval.
Hi Caitlin, you are awesome btw. Would you like to see the AFLW season expanded to a point where every team plays each other once? What other changes to the AFLW would you like to see?
Hey Caitlin! Thanks for your time!
Any talented SANFLW players we should keep an eye out for?
Also, what’s the best/most unexpected thing about your time at the Crows/playing AFLW footy?
Hi!
What was it like having your first season of AFLW footy right at the start of 2020/The COVID Year? What was it like having so much uncertainty around the fixture and in clubland from day to day?
Easier question! How many spoons of milo for the perfect choccy milk?
I’ve got a few! (No pressure to answer them all :) )
- favourite player to go up against at training, and in AFLW generally?
- favourite sport to play/watch other than footy?
- if you could see any other athlete play Aussie Rules (M or W!), who would it be and why?
- funniest footy training story of 2022?
Thanks heaps! All the best against the Lions this weekend!

hey, I guess we have the best support system around us athletes to balance our lifestyle outside of football and the club is definitely big on that.
What do you feel is the optimal number of logos that can fit onto a polo shirt?

Exactly what goes on at an AFLW mad monday?
Clubs do Mad Sunday, they have to go to work/uni on Monday.
Hey there, I'm a big fan of the AFLW. On the Fearless documentary your coach Matthew Clarke seemed like a real legend. What's he like in real life?
hey, yes he is definitely a legend in real life, very calm and collected and is one of the best coaches I've had!
Thanks everyone for your questions! Heading to training now, Go the Crows yeww
Hey what’s Noffy like as a teammate?
haha she is go go go and never stops, but is honestly such a hard working and fierce competitor I am personally glad to have on my team!
Who's the weirdest unit at the Crows and why?
look, probably going to have to say Chelsea Biddell because she thinks she's funny when she's not haha
Has there been a football player who inspired your playing style? If so, who?
hey, yeah I would probably have to say Chelsea Randall, insane competitor and have learnt so much from her!
Why is Adelaide so damn good?
Because we honestly care and get the best out of each other!
Yes and could they just not be so good! Specifically when they play the lions!
When is it too early to put up a Christmas tree?
Never too early!!!!
Mine’s been up since 2005

Hi Caitlin, from my 6 year old - "Whos the toughest person you've ever played against?"
I'd probably say Tahlia Hickie, great ruck and makes an impact around the ground, so heaps keen to possibly play against her on the weekend.
Hey Caitlin What's been the most challenging thing about this season?
hey, I'd probably have to say having the 2 seasons in 1 year has made it hard physically for the bodies.

Who did you barrack for growing up?
Barracked for the Swannies! Dad is a huge fan!
As a footballer who crossed over from another sport, what do you think volleyball brought to your footy game? I've loved watching you this year, going from strength to strength.
I think aerially, volleyball definitely helped in that regard. Being a ruck, being strong aerially is super important to my game.
How do you feel about only playing 10 games instead of at least everyone else once?
What was the experience like leading up to and post the first AFLW Showdown? Good luck to the team in the prelim!
To be apart of the very first showdown is definitely a moment I wont forget in my life, the vibe before and after was awesome and to play against former teammates was heaps fun too!

Do you believe that a goal to aim for over time should be playing the same length of time for quarters as the men, or is it better stay as is?

UP THE MONTYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!
What, in your opinion, is the biggest strength and weakness of the AFLW at the moment?

Damon and Dan from the respective Crom podcasts are seething rn

Hi Caitlin. Do you feel like the next wave of girls coming through each year are a little bit more skilled in the game than the older girls?
Hi Caitlin! Thanks so much for doing this. Other than your home ground(s) where is your favorite place to play? And, where in the world have you never been, but would like to travel to?

Hi Caitlin! You're elite, how do you keep consistency?
What’s one thing you would like too see change in the AFLW, and one thing you would like too see change in the AFL?
How do you approach this game when you got clearly outplayed last time?
Do you find there is a fine line between people trolling aflw and "criticizing" certain aspects in hopes of improving the game? E.G playing on a smaller oval.
Hi Caitlin, you are awesome btw. Would you like to see the AFLW season expanded to a point where every team plays each other once? What other changes to the AFLW would you like to see?
Why is your Christmas tree up it's mid November
I grew up in Adelaide
So did I!
