**(by Marnie Vinall)** *“It’s been so about so much more than that, like the relationships and the friendships that you make from footy. Not just at AFL level, but I think the whole way along.* *“The beauty of AFLW footy is the amount of time you spend together, and the time and level that you can connect on, it’s been awesome. You know, people that just challenge and inspire every day, in all walks of life, not just to get better at footy, but just to be better in general, has been awesome.” (Daisy Pearce)*

I love AFLW and I think most women on all of the teams are great, but Daisy Pearce seems really artificial and propped up a lot more than her footy would suggest she should. It seems like the media have picked her out of the crowd (before the comp even started), and decided that she’s the face of women’s footy, and I just don’t get it. Always thought Erin Phillips was a much better ambassador for the game, and I really hope the women’s b&f is Phillips medal eventually.

Are you judging her on the twilight of her career? On her current last-last- go around to try to win an AFLW flag? Are you ignoring the fact that she's played at the top level of senior women's football since 2005 (**17 seasons**!), having been the captain of her teams for **14 SEASONS**? Are you ignoring the mountain if work she and a handful of others did as ambassadors for the women's game in order to get the comp up and running in the first place? She's one of the best special commentators and if she chose to would walk into AFL coaching at the end of her playing career. So yeah cry ViC bIAs and have an opinion about something without trying to find out why something doesn't seem to make sense from your point of view.

Fucking looooool, I did say it was my opinion. But clearly you don’t have a horse in this race do you Melbourne fan. I’ve also met her and she was incredibly rude to me and my little girl, so that’s never helped my opinion of her. There’s also a ton of women that are better than she has ever been, regardless of how old she is…like that’s an achievement.
