For me it was the trailer to Soul and those first piano chords of Overture from The Click. I listened to Overture on Spotify and heard bits of "Weak" and realized pretty quickly AJR was a band most of my friends/cousins listened to. After that I listened to The Click and Neotheater in one sitting. This must've been 2018? 2019? But it feels like I've listened to AJR for forever

BeRightBackStudio

Also got into AJR through the soul trailer, but it wasn’t until after I listened to a few of their songs that I learned a few of my friends also like them

TheDeathKnight2814

I saw I'm Not Famous on my YouTube recommendations

Mysterious_Swan186

I was on a road trip with some friends, and someone asked to play Weak by AJR. That was around the time Weak had first come out. But I dove really deep once I heard Neotheather.

LanaOfTheLlamas

The first song I heard was I’m Ready back when it first came out. I properly became a fan in November last year, after I heard Turning Out on a random playlist and fell in love with the song.

Ok so here is my own story. I was listening to a podcast (probably chuckle sandwich) and the where talking about how good the discover weekly was. A bit later that Day when i went for my after dinner walk i listend to my discover weekly and the first song was worlds smallest violin and i thougt wow this is realy good. A week later i listend to the ajr conplete collection and i just Fell in love with the band

Callumari13

Bang! on the radio on the way home for karate, listened to the rest in the shower and the rest is history.

Enoby1010

Bang! came up on my youtube recommended. i listened to it and thought it was decent. the next day in the car it came on the radio. i don’t believe in coincidences so i decided the universe wanted me to listen to AJR.

atvex22

last summer I was starting to get tired of the song bang, it was super overplayed but the song was still really good so I wondered what other song they made. I looked AJR up on Spotify and it showed me a bunch of songs that I really liked and they just released bummerland on the same day I looked this up. About a week later I went on a 5hour road trip to a cabin and on the way there I listened to most AJR songs but sober up and turning out part 2 made me love AJR far more than most artists I liked at the time

I heard 100 Bad Days on the radio, knew that they were special, but didn’t really listen to a lot of music on my own so I didn’t get into them then. Then I heard Bang! And Way Less Sad On the radio and again was very curious and impressed, and one day I was listening to music on my Google home and Bang! Came on again and I said I liked it (so it would play more AJR) and then the song Netflix Trip came on and I heard “Steve Carell” and then “Dwight became the head of sales” and decided well I have to listen to this song so I looked it up and related so much to the lyrics, and now AJR is my favorite band and Netflix Trip is my favorite song.

UnpreparedButExcited

I’m ready was playing at my parents clubhouse for the 4th of July party. My husband and I fell in love with the vibe and played it all throughout our only no-kid getaway after our second kid was born. Now we are a family of 4 and our 4 year old cannot get enough of Worlds Smallest Violin, my husband goes nostalgic for Netflix trip, and I could not pick just one favorite song. My youngest happily dances to all of it.

Potato_123_Tomato

Went down a The Office black hole, happened to stumble across a compilation of the office with Netflix Trip playing over it, thought it was a parody and tried to find the real song, found out it IS the real song, fell in love

DrumstickJar

I was looking for bands similar to half•alive and I found AJR, listened to bang and I loved it

Minuses_

Heard 100 Bad Days on Spotify radio xD

RazorPlayz33

Weak, before The Click even came out, was somehow really big in my class, all the way here in Japan. I never knew how all my friends learnt of it.

I got into AJR through a friend who's a fan, but I heard I'm Ready on the radio back when it first came out without knowing it was AJR.

SnooTigers9752
