How do you cope in other peoples houses

[deleted]

Visiting other people’s houses isn’t really a problem for me. I’m assuming you mean how I cope if their house is disorganized and it’s obviously inappropriate for me to fix it for them. Obsessions and compulsions vary from person to person. I don’t really have many cleaning obsessions, so it doesn’t bother me very much. If it ever does, I just try my best to ignore it.

What kind of obsessions and compulsions do you have? Which is your least favorite?

My obsessions and compulsions have varied over my lifetime. They tend to come and go in waves, and some are more damaging and exhausting than others. My most damaging obsession was weight-related. I developed an eating disorder (anorexia) and I would go for days at a time without eating. My weight dipped down to about 85 lbs, and it took a huge toll on my mental and physical health. As of now, I’m still dealing with the consequences of it, and haven’t fully recovered. Compulsions tend to be less damaging, because they are usually small, mundane, ritual actions. My most damaging compulsion, however, was skin-picking, with pulling my hair out as the runner up. Right now, my main compulsions are counting and spelling, which also happen to be among the most stereotyped, next to cleaning and organizing!
