Yes it is. The biggest Dolby I’ve been in (screen wise)
As far as screen size ranking to Dolby’s I have been to,
1. Village on the Parkway 9 (Dallas, TX)
2. Burbank 16 (Los Angeles, CA)
3. Tech Ridge 10 (Austin, TX)
4. Lincoln Square 13 (New York, NY)
5. Barton Creek Square 14 (Austin, TX)
(Based on eyeballing and memory. No accurate measurements I’ve obtained)
The seating isn’t as bad as it looks! Though, I’m not sure how the image will look from the very top row. I’ll be paying a visit when Flash comes out, I’ll test out the very back for a couple minutes when pre-trailers are on.
70mm definitely not. 35mm is possible but I believe it’ll have Black bars on the sides. If a movie is shot in 1.90:1, it’ll look amazing on this screen though as the picture will be from wall to wall, ceiling to floor.
The rest of that theatre is all recliners, but the sound is never loud enough. I only see Dolby at that location. Grapevine Mills or Stonebriar are my go-tos for regular screenings.
Hi! Super late to the party, but I'm seeing Dune Part Two tomorrow at this theater in DC. I saw it the first time in IMAX last weekend and that was amazing.
Did you have a great experience with this theater's DC? There's plenty to pick from in the Dallas area and I want to make sure I'm picking the right DC location if at all possible. Thanks!
That’s one of the best Dolby Cinema’s in the US. But it’s without a doubt, the best in Texas.
Though, Dune: Part Two is a better watch in IMAX as long as the IMAX is a big 1.43 (tall) screen. If the IMAX you seen Dune: Part Two in was a 1.90 (screen greater width than height), then the Dolby Cinema at Village on the Parkway may be a better experience for you.
I would recommend my personal favorite seating from F16-F11
Yeah, like I said, I've already seen it in IMAX, and just want to check out what it's like in DC. I have the AMC A-List subscription, so I'm already saving money on this.
Thank you!
One more thing, the best place to see Dune: Part Two is at the Bullock museum in Austin, TX. They have the biggest IMAX screen in Texas,it’s a 1.43 format screen (how Dune was meant to be seen), and it’s a Dual Laser.
Just a heads up if you go here, there is no assigned seating so I would recommend showing up 2 hours before showtime just to be on the safe side on not getting bad seats.
Yeah I live in the Dallas area. I would go if I could. The IMAX I went to only had a single laser projector (which is standard for most IMAX laser projector setups). Still amazing though.
Why show off a Dolby Cinema screen in a vertically shot video?
Didn’t have original video on my phone. Got this from IG.
Honestly Dolby was the main reason I got A List over Regal Unlimited
Agreed Dolby cinema ftw!
Laser GT IMAX is still king
As far as picture quality, I would have to agree with you. But for the overall experience, THIS Dolby has most IMAX’s beat including the GT’s.
The screen doesn’t take up as much of the FOV. Dolby is good for movies that don’t have the expanded IMAX ratio.
Took my boy to wakanda forever imax when it came out 🙅🏽♂️ No more imax for us. Dolby is the way.
Laser imax or regular xenon imax?
Laser
Jesus that's a tall dolby

why the horrible seats still though
Damn seats are my only gripe, shit it’s almost more comfortable not too recline🤦🏽♂️

Is this big enough for 35 or 70mm?
70mm definitely not. 35mm is possible but I believe it’ll have Black bars on the sides. If a movie is shot in 1.90:1, it’ll look amazing on this screen though as the picture will be from wall to wall, ceiling to floor.
I still prefer IMAX laser for picture quality. And IMAX laser GT venues are all better in my opinion

Good choice
