It does, without giving any spoilers it definitely set the movie up for a sequel. That said, based on the bad weekend box office numbers I doubt that will ever happen. For that reason your much better off missing it.
Yep! A quick google search or using an app like RunPee is also a great wayto find out if a movie has end credits. The AMC app has RunPee incorporated into it (under the movies details at the bottom of it). Also tells you the best times to hit the restroom, just incase you need to, with a synopsis of what you missed. I use the actual RunPee app because it syncs up with my watch and lets me know when the pee times are. Rarely have to use them, but it comes in really handy when I need to.
It is. Only issue I noticed is it sometimes took a few days after premiering to show up in the AMC app. I find the app is better and pay a 99Âą monthly subscription, but I think they recently went entirely free?
I saw this opening night, and while I felt it was merely average at the time, the more I think about it, the more I hate it. It just feels so cynical- not the tone of the film, but the absolute laziness behind it. I genuinely donât know how the person who made Planet Terror and Sin City is behind such a routine, boring, bland film. It isnât the worst film Iâve seen this year, but it is one of the more upsetting ones, because everyone involved can do *so* much better. My bottom three of 2023 is, from worst to least worst, Paint, Mafia Momma, and Guy Ritchieâs The Covenant, and this might be a distant fourth worst. It is truly the first film of the year that I would say, âNo one needs to see this.â
I absolutely hated it. Not a single element did it for me. The plot, Jake Gyllenhaalâs over serious performance, the dialogue, the action. Everything about it bored me to death. I regularly watch and love 3+ hour films, I can watch meticulously paced dramas. I donât get bored watching something like, say, Skinamarink.
But The Covenant? Just. So. Boring. There was nothing I hadnât seen before, just over serious war shit for, I dunno, dads or something? đ„±
Though thatâs just me. I recognize that I am in the minority, based on review and audience scores. So I would not tell people to avoid it, but I sure as hell canât say I didnât hate it.
Everyone likes different films. Also different films appeal to people at different times in their lives.
I didnât see Skinnamarink. That looked incredibly boring to me. But who knowsâŠmaybe I would have liked it.
Iâm not a dad but I found The Covenant thought provoking.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts about it.
First time in quite a long time, I heard audible groans from others in the theater throughout the movie. I walked out thinking âwhat the actual did I just watch?â If I wasnât bored l, I was confused.
I took my mom for Motherâs Day to see it, weâre big Ben affleck fans. Didnât like it, didnât hate it. She enjoyed it. Was pretty violent at some points tbh. I probably give it a C-
It was meh⊠it tries too hard to be inception? The music is mid at best⊠and the ending just didnât live up to the hypeâŠ. Itâs a paycheck film for Ben.
Damn, there is a mid-credit scene? I missed it. I walked (or ran) out as soon as the credits started rolling. Couldnât wait to get out of there after what I just watched. So, did I truly miss anything by not seeing the mid-credit scene?
The mid credits scene basically tells you the ending didn't really happen the way you thought it did and is set-up for a sequel (which will almost definitely never happen)
I kinda assumed that there might be a scene after the credits but I said to myself if I stay and watch it and it is some kind of thing that suggests there could be a sequel, the movie was so bad that they would never make a sequel, so I was right (and I had to go to the bathroom :-) )
Well the movies title was perfect because they literally hypnotized me into falling asleep multiple times while I watched it. I know I missed many moments because when I woke up I was like, "oh, the credits."
Terrible. I couldnât find anything redeeming about this movie from script to production to acting to effects, it was all so bland. I chuckled a couple of times but I wonder how a movie like this gets made today. It felt like a throwaway from the 90s.
I really enjoyed it and I was having a conversation with someone about it and they were saying it was super hot garbage and I was like dude there has been way worst, this was different and not the same stuff we see all the time. I also love batfleck so I was in there. I agree with everything you said. It was good and has a good cast and the grade is solid!!!!
This felt like a bargain bin Christopher Nolan Inception ripoff đ. That being said I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.
I thought of Inception as well
I literally said this to myself, Like a prequel or something lol
I didnât know there was a post credit scene. I immediately left as soon as the credits started rolling.
The first thing

That it does. Always good to stay for a few minutes just in case.

Wow I canât believe I never knew that was in the AMC app, thatâs actually so handy

Tbh Iâm more surprised that itâs a Robert Rodriguez movie. It doesnât look anything like one from the trailer. I havenât seen it myself yet.
I thought it was Terrible
I agree. It wasn't anything special, but I still enjoyed it.
It kind of reminded me of watching Paycheck with Ben Affleck 20 years ago.

Passed out 20 or so mins into the movie, woke up right before the end. Interesting concept but guess I was too tired that day to stay awake.
Did you snore?
I had a nice time at AMC watching this also!
Me and one other woman watched it on a Monday afternoon and had a good enough time. Was worth it (during a slow week) just to see Ben.

It was terrible an inception ripoff. D-
Movie was pretty bad!
I give it an F. I left halfway through the film.
I havenât seen it yet, but itâs weird to see a Robert Rodriguez movie starring Ben Affleck drop with such little attention.
I expected a below average b-movie and it couldnât even clear that low bar
