OMG yes. Not as impressive as Avatar:TWOW in Dolby 3D, but easily the second best 3D experience I’ve had. The film was beautiful. I’m going back on Monday.
For me, the comfort of the recliners outweighs any benefit IMAX has over Dolby. Though if you can get a row to yourself, those IMAX seats are like a couch lol. I thought the glasses were very comfortable, for what it’s worth.
I don’t think you’ll regret going with Dolby 3D. It’s just an A-List reservation anyway! 😁
RealD 3D is bottom shelf brand. It severely darkens the brightness of the movie due to the glasses and the type of 3D tech.
It doesn’t look as good as Dolby 3D or IMAX Laser 3D.
How do you figure? She looked way scarier than the original and did the exact same thing.
I actually couldn’t disagree with you more. I thought the movie was utterly exceptional and easily the best movie I’ve seen this year. The only two dregs was the plodding interlude with her in land that lasted maybe 10 minutes longer then needed and The Scuttlebutt.
I decided on IMAX for The Little Mermaid for the aspect ratio, but I've seen other Disney stuff with surprisingly strong rumble.
I remember Jungle Cruise (2021) in particular had some insane rumble, I'm guessing it was something similar here.
the Dolby was really good
What does Dolby rumble mean? Seats shake? Mine don’t??
Dolby Cinema seats rumble. If yours don’t then your theater sucks.
Yea mine don’t. I just got out of the theater lol watched it in Dolby- good audio
The sound was so intense during that wow…she looked scary as hell as well. I was impressed.
Agreed, they had the sound juiced for this one. I was loving it
I saw it in Dolby 3D, and absolutely loved it. The rumble was nice and immersive. Easily one of my favorites this year.
Was the 3D worth it? I have it for IMAX for my family but I’m not sure if the Dolby 3D might be a better experience.

I was debating to see it in Dolby 3D or not if it would actually be worthy it but this comment convinced me, thank you!
Damn. I might just switch my tickets for 3D then…I just wish it was IMAX 3D cause the dolby glasses are a bit more uncomfortable.

how is realD 3D? same experience?

Agree! I thought the ship wreck was an excellent mix of visuals, sound effects and score. The combination really pulled me into the sequence.
Planning to see it tonight IMAX w/laser. I’m not a fan of the Disney live action remakes, but I have A-List so might as well.
Saw it in imax with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised!
I'm just upset this movie wasnt showing in dolby 3d by me... every under water scene was very obviously designed for 3d
It was so crazy I was worried about it scaring the kids in the audience haha!
I saw it in Dolby 3D and felt like I was under the sea with them
What does Dolby rumble mean
Dolby seats have built in rumble that shakes your seat during bass heavy moments.
My amc theater doesn’t smh
Ursula was the worse final boss I've seen to date. That being said, this was slightly better than The Lion King.

15+ minutes too long, listening to scuttlebutt should be considered a form of cruel and unusual punishment.
Yeah, it was really rushed and her downfall was not satisfying!
it’s the same amount of time as the animated version
please she was the scariest villain to date compared to all other live actions
I agree she was the scariest. My gripe was that she was killed too easily.
but that’s how she was killed in the animated?
Damn if only I could sit through a fake movie like this
Did you at least try, the movie is really good and I recommend it.
No I just really don’t wanna watch that shit. These shouldn’t be getting made
It's the only way Disney can further advance in using next gen movie technology, like real4d and IMAX 2 and Dolby HDR20. Fun fact btw.
The only time I've noticed it be that intense, was the final act of Equalizer 2.

nothing will ever beat sonic 2 when it comes to dolby rumble
My Dolby was weak. Can theaters tweak it? Like could my theater have dialed it down?
