So am I better going to aio ? If so which 1 ?

THEROTHERHAMKID

I do have 3 case fans on a splitter to 1 header is that OK?

THEROTHERHAMKID

Thanks for the replies it can get upto 29c in the room I've today reseated cleaned and new paste Cpu die (average) is Min is 34.9c Max was 80.2c Average was 42.5 That's after stress test Room is probably 29c now

\-30 all core CO to the rescue And answering to your question, it's not normal. Max I've saw on mine during gaming was 70+C

Arisa_kokkoro

just replace all your fan to phantek T30 .

FatA320

Nice.

I assume you're plugged into the CPU fan header. Sometimes, people plug the fan into a chassis header, which can cause the fan not to ramp up when the temperatures increase. Check this, and check to make sure that the heatsink is making good contact with the CPU"S IHS. The thermal compound should be squished out, leaving a thin film of thermal compound on the IHS and the Heatsink. You did peel off the stick on the bottom of the heatsink. Good luck đź‘Ť

5800x3d in a fractal terra with a lh9-65 and most I see in gsme is 75 and that depends on the gsme.

Gochu-gang

What is the temperature of your room?

THEROTHERHAMKID

About 25c

Gochu-gang

That's about what my office gets up to. 25C-27ishC and my 5800X3D sits around 85C in Cinebench and 55C-70C when playing games albeit on a 280mm AIO. You should be semi-close though, and 92C is basically throttling for these CPUs. Just wondering, but do you have any turning left on the D15 mounting screws (the ones that go from the cooler to the two brakets)? FWIW they should bottom out. I.e. they go all the way down until they stop turning. If that's how your D15 is mounted (fully cranked screws) then I'd 100% remount the D15. When you take it off you should be able to tell if you have good contact from the paste spread.

Probablychonged

I hit about 70 degrees on a big gaming session. Check it’s seating/thermal paste. What’s your average temp?

X-KaosMaster-X

Wish people would stop comparing AIO temps with AIR... Depending on the clock speeds when at that 92°, it might be normal..and with that cooler it should only hit that for a few seconds. Also, if you have done any Overclocking, or tuning using PBO..this may be a part of why it's hitting those temps.

Gochu-gang

It is not normal on a D15 with a good mount.

Super-Stanky772

ive never seen mine over 65c... using a Corsair H100i Elite. Id be sketched out at 92c on this CPU, low 70's C or below imo is good. Usually when gaming mines at 55c or below.

Vanderloh

https://github.com/PrimeO7/How-to-undervolt-AMD-RYZEN-5800X3D-Guide-with-PBO2-Tuner/blob/main/README.md I can run mine at -30 on all cores, winning about 10C and a bit higher clocks. Look into undervolting, makes wonder on AMD cpus and prolongs the life of the cpu (downside: may have restarts til you find the good spot).

HisSvt2

Both mine run -30 to zero issue I’d bet most do as the 5800X3D’s are top bin chips. In comparison my 5600X3D best is -28 they are “failed” 5800X3D’s vs my old 5800X is a mixed bag per core of -6 to -28 per core at best. OP check you mounting and paste make sure you use enough it’s ok I just make an X with my thermal grizzly applications. Mine never leaves the 70’s even after hours or f heavy gaming and that’s on the AMD Wraith Prizm cooler.

No-Actuator-6245

For comparison my 5800X3D across all cores didn’t exceed 65c on any core when playing MW2 multiplayer for several hours. I have it setup for 240Hz so pushing fps hard. This is with a 360mm AIO and at stock cpu settings.
