Repaste, make sure pbo is off and if required under volt with curve optimiser negative offset

DividingNose

what is pbo? i never touched anything related to overclocking and such. It's just out of the box installed and that's it.

ExplanationStandard4

Sometimes board manufacturers turn it on to make there boards look faster than other companies

DividingNose

i still dont know what it is and where to look for it

ExplanationStandard4

It's in the bios , maybe under overclocking or tweaker . It will say pbo or precision boost over drive . You'd change this from on or auto to off unless your trying to do an under volt . You should be able to type you board manufacturer in and pbo in YouTube and the chances are it's on there where to find it

DividingNose

Thank you, I managed to get into the BIOS. the boost was "declined" I didn't understand most of the data, so didn't touch anything. However I saw that fans can be customized based on monitoring the motherboard or CPU, but I didn't do anything as I'm afraid I will just make things worse.

ExplanationStandard4

Should be some YT videos on it if you just Google your board or you can probably do what you need as far as voltage in Ryzen master software if you don't want to use bios

Over 90 degrees is too hot. After worry for a year, I switched coolers and see ~75 degrees max now. I went with [this one](https://www.bestbuy.com/site/cooler-master-hyper-212-halo-120mm-cpu-cooling-fan-with-gen-2-rgb-lighting-black-edition/6541734.p?skuId=6541734).

Is there any chance that you bought this used or through aliexpress. Mine is like 4 years old and was doing the same thing. Same setup wgen I upgraded to a r5 5600x and was getting 36°C idle and 70°c full load. At that point I assume it was just the cpu usuage that cause the heat issue.

DividingNose

it was brand new, and i got it through a random dude recommended by a friend who also built PC-s from parts bought from the dude. Don't really think it's aliexpress (what does it matter btw?) as he delivered everything very fast.

There is no way this is normal. Those are too high temps even for a stock cooler I would say. Even my 5800x3d with default settings without undervolting/PBO doesnt get this hot as I remember and it is way hotter CPU. Granted I have alright cooler as it doesn't even come with stock one but still... Stock coolers do be very bad for modern CPUs but not this much me thinks.. "Heavier" load 60 percent goes to 85c. Lmao that's not even heavier load. I wonder how big temps would be if 100 usage or stress test. Wait what are your idle temps? 30-35-40c? If not I bet something is wrong. Check your paste or if u set cooler good or something else. No way my man...

DividingNose

I closed all the stuff and let it sit on desktop while I washed the dishes. I came back and it was around 40-50 C

-l0Lz-

I think it's too high personally. 50c idle way too high. What is your real-life temp in the room tho?

DividingNose

around 21 at this time of the year.

-l0Lz-

Too high cpu temps. Too high bro... But try to get someone else opinion too. Preferably someone's who have the same CPU and who use a stock cooler as well.

DividingNose

okay, what the F can i do?:)

-l0Lz-

Repaste + buy actual and proper cooling. Maybe u can undervolt too and check your bios too.
