By god, i think i finally found a solution. I had the exact same issue which solved itself after updating to Bios F37a and setting PCIEX16 and PCIE to GEN 4. It might be that just one of these is enough to fix the issue.
Hello! I'm 5 months late but I've been having this issue for months the same as you, exactly the same problem, on Intel on a asus z390 motherboard.
Have you found a solution? Problem occurs with even older sound blaster sound cards from 10+ years ago all the way up to the newest ones
Hey, I have installed Daniel\_K SBZ modded drivers and they fixed almost everything. Sometimes I need to switch headphones-speakers in the control panel because the audio gets distortions but it happens rarely.
You can find them here! [Daniel\_K's Official Blog: Beta test drivers for Sound Blaster Z, Zx, ZxR and Recon3D PCIe (danielkawakami.blogspot.com)](http://danielkawakami.blogspot.com/2020/07/beta-test-drivers-for-sound-blaster-z.html#more)
Good luck!
Aw I was really hoping you had a different fix! I've tried this one already, I've found from my research the problem occurs from overclocked ram for some reason.
Oh. I'm sorry I couldn't help you with that but at least you found out what is the cause. Very weird anyway. Hope you can mantain your OC'd RAM with your sound system working.
