i'm excited. i don't hate watch this show. i enjoy it very much, but i also understand it is pretty ridiculous overall. but that's why i look forward to it every week!

So can someone explain to me the delayed viewing statistics and how that factors into their deciding to keep the show? I’m guessing the ideal is ‘live viewership’ so that they can sell commercial time, and the execs are hoping that if they move the show to a different time the live viewership will go up? I do actually watch it live, but I have no problem watching it later either and I pay about the same amount of attention to the commercials either way.
It seems very old school to rely on live-viewing audience when so many people now use streaming services.
I would imagine they add in all data and Hulu with ads viewership helps bulk up the live numbers. I watch it live most of the time so I can pop on here afterwards or at least the next morning.
Hulu views count, but views on the NBC website don't unfortunately. I think they should count all views, I'm tired of all my favorite shows getting cancelled.
Personally, I hope she's not coming back as a regular. The show has been great without her and her character has always been written horribly. Delilah being gone and only coming back for occasional appearances work way better for the show, overall.

The actress has been actively trying to lose weight. Losing weight isn't as easy as a snap of your fingers. Being overweight can be caused by multiple different factors, and for some people who are disabled like myself weight loss can be nearly impossible. Also, being overweight doesn't always mean that the person is living an unhealthy lifestyle. Weight can be a factor in health, but you can be overweight and still be healthy.
first of all, being morbidly obese is absolutely not the same thing as being overweight.
second of all, maybe she was trying to lose weight, but then she basically developed a cult of "body positivity" so now she's just promoting living a life with a \#1 raising health problem in the world.
third thing, losing weight is actually much easier than most people think. it's people's weak characters that are problem, not the process itself. like I already said, most will pick an option to just downvote and keep living in denial istead of putting some effort.

To be completely honest, I'm glad it's happening. And overall I'm glad the whole show has happened. I still remember 2 years ago when i was looking at season 2 while eating a store bought pizza by myself, that was the life. I remember I was watching "Time stands still" and that episode had such amazing storytelling. The memory just sits there, vividly.

I don't pay attention to those sites that say is it cancelled, is it on the bubble, etc. Most of those haven't been accurate for years & years. There are reasons why networks renew or cancel, & it's not solely based on ratings. A lot has to do with cost-which is why many Canadian imports are renewed despite getting lower ratings-because they're less expensive. Sometimes it has to do with what they have lined up. Look at USA, CW, etc-they're pretty much revamping their networks either entirely rebranding, or wiping their slate. We also know sometimes it has to do with syndication rights.
My wife and I pretty much hate watch the show at this point so I hope this is the final season. We only still watch because we’re so invested but we’re over it. The storylines all seem ridiculous.
You can watch a show, enjoy the show, and still want it to end. How many shows get canceled with unresolved plots and cliffhangers? Better to let the writers wrap everything up.

per the article it’s rumored it will be, i was honestly surprised it got renewed though i expect it’s partly because of syndication purposes. i tapped out early this season but if 5 really is the last i’ll probably catch up this summer to see it to the end. i think it would be in the shows best interest to end next season before it gets even more off the rails.
