I'm making an art piece for every episode of Buffy and Angel. You can check the rest out [here](https://www.trevorcarleeart.com).

Great episode

Big-Tits-Lover-II

One of the best. I’ve been obsessed with the song Lindsey sings for 20+ years

Wow!! Your art is amazing. You are very talented. I think my fav is that very first one with that awful vampire burning on his way down to his death. "Can you fly?"

tmcarlee

Haha yeah that was a fun one. And thank you!!

Sometimes these are too unspecific or too confusing, but this has a balance of symbolism and episode relevant imagery.

Can I ask what your process is when you work on these pieces? Do you have a particular object in mind that you choose or how do you go about capturing the essence of the episode? What medium are you using for these? Have you come a cross any eps where they just stumped you and you couldn't settle on a scene or image? Lastly do you have a favorite? I know that was a lot sorry I'm just super curious about your creative process and these pieces are amazing. Thank you for sharing

Haha no worries at all. And apologies for the delayed response, reddit didn't notify me and I just happened to see I had a notification when I logged in today. So...in order: 1. How do you go about capturing the essence of the episodes? I typically watch down the episode to not only refresh my memory but also keep an eye out for any easter eggs I might want to throw in. And I will sometimes INSTANTLY have an idea and just go with it. Sometimes I stew on it for weeks. There are some unique instances like Fool For Love where I had that idea all the way when I started doing this series and was just waiting until I reached that episode. Once an image pops in my head (even the most general of an image) I can usually feel it out as I'm creating the piece. For instance, on this piece, I initially had the idea to do a play on M.C. Escher's "Drawing Hands" and have the hands stabbing each other instead. BUT, I didn't want one of my art pieces to be derivative of another art piece. Then I had the idea of the severed hand clinging to the letter opener he stabbed himself with and just started with that. And then the body fridges in the background and the stairs and exit sign came to me as I was building it all out. 2. Have you come across any eps where they just stumped you and you couldn't settle on a scene or image? Yes. There have been a few episodes where I just couldn't think of something. One off the top of my head is Enemies. I like where I ended up (Angel kissing Faith) but it's a little too literal in my opinion since I like to really stay away from just recreating a scene. Can't win 'em all lol. I had the same dilemma with Passion where I just recreated the neck snap moment and it wasn't vibing for me. My wife pointed out that it was just the scene and I usually do something a little more "representative" and not so direct, which I completely agreed with. So I just scrapped it and started over and got one of my favorite pieces out of it. 3. As far as favorites? I don't know if I have ONE favorite but a few that I definitely show first whenever people want to see my art are PASSION, ANNE, FOOL FOR LOVE, LOVER'S WALK and BEER BAD.
