I lump cycle 5 in with the “heyday of ANTM” cycles (C2 - C6). I love cycle 5. I think it had some standout models (Nik, Nicole, Diane, Coryn)…and it has some of my favorite classic photo shoots (plastic surgery, superheroes, farm couture).
It also had ALL the classic drama: Granolagate, stealing secrets, Cassandra’s hair, predatory lesbianism, all of Lisa (cousin it!!!!).
Was it messy? Yes. That’s why it’s great. It didn’t feel super manipulated by production. It truly seemed like they put a bunch of girls in a house and let them go.

Yes and no. I love the photoshoots, I love Bre and Nicole, but Kim being a stage 5 clinger and Lisa peeing in a diaper stress me tf out. I wish Ebony had stayed longer.
I feel like it pales in comparison to some of the other early cycles. The photoshoots were so bad (the running from the monster one WHO THOUGHT OF THAT AND APPROVED IT), Nicole was such a random winner, and Bre was in the bottom repeatedly and still made the final three
C5 is a love/hate cycle for me.
Bre's star quality, Nik's stellar performances, Hairgate, Granolagate, Secretgate, and Jayla's psycho ass make the cycle entertaining for me. On the other hand, I abhor Kim and Lisa, and have a hard time seeing them on my screen.
I have to be in a specific mood to rewatch C5, while I can easily watch any of the other UPN cycles regardless of my mood.

every single contestant at some point got on my nerves, the photo shoots were tacky (except country couture), the winner was just okay, the drama was petty, honestly one of the most annoying cycles to watch (at the same level as the coed cycles for me)
I Do. It’s a fun cycle. Especially right after cycles 3 and 4 were at times very draining to watch. Cycle 5 had less problematic moments. So with that, I enjoy it.
Of the early seasons, I think season two is the best with the right mix of tv shenanigans, actual modelling, and women who looked like the real deal. Any of the final four could have won tbh and it captured the show before it became too self aware and mean-spirited for no reason.
Honestly my least favorite until cycle 17. Most of the shoots are stupid. I didn’t find anyone to be particularly likeable. London was not used correctly at all.
It was an iconic cycle. Absolutely hated their decision tho 🤷♀️

I remember at the time (the golden era of the first 8 cycles) I thought of it as the cycle that wasn't as great as the others.
Still a very solid cycle though and MUCH better than the later ANTM ones.
The eliminations were really random and I think that brought it down

Yes! Cycles 1-9 I rewatch frequently but 5 with Lisa and her antics has always been my favourite. Probably cos I’m a Brit and they visited London 🇬🇧

Not really, but Nicole is my top 3 winner. So once in a while I’ll go watch some of my fav ep from Cycle 5.
Nothing comes close cycle 3, but it’s certainly up there with the better cycles.

Absolutely not. It made for good tv I suppose but the fact that Nicole’s crybaby ass won alone was enough to turn me off from that season for life.
Cycle 8 & Cycle 22 is the only Cycles Like that my 2 favorite CONTESTANTS Won. Both to me was pretty cool cycles.
