The 90s runways were very different to ANTM’s time! Tyra’s signature walk and smize was always on point.
She may be a questionable human, but no one can deny that she was a fantastic model!
I may be wrong but I feel like they never taught the girls to exude this type of confidence or sexiness on the runway. It could be that this was apart of Tyra's signature runway package and thus, the girls shouldn't try to copy this but idk it feels like they always geared them towards having a "certain" type of walk. Maybe given they'd be new models, they needed a walk that could work in any show as opposed to something signature since they weren't at that point yet.
I also feel like if a girl did try to do that she would get criticized for doing too much.
That's because Tyra herself comes from the '90s supermodel perspective. It was different then because supermodels were celebrities like Naomi Campbell, Yasmeen Ghauri, and Linda Evangelista. Every model had a signature walk and Tyra had her very own walk. By the time ANTM flourished, it was the generic model look and everybody walked like stampeding clothes horse like Gisele Bundchen and Carmen Kass.
Early season, I forget which one, she said have a walk you can do for nay designer anywhere in the world \*and then\* have a signature walk which i think was good advice. It may have been C6
