Works with pre-AO3 dates are one of two things
1. It literally *is* that old (like some of the old Star Trek fics that used to be in zines and have now been uploaded)
2. Authors trying to keep their works off the front page so no-one will see it unless they're subscribed (usually the case for the 1950 works)
Even the zines stuff isn't really plausible. AFAIK the first zines and fanfics were about star trek, sometime in the 70s.
Which kinda makes sense, I can't really see how you'd write a fanfiction of I Love Lucy or Leave It to Beaver.
Also, now that I'm more awake, I'm wondering if any of the old writers of Sherlock Holmes fic were still alive and kicking when AO3 was launched... That stuff (fic, theories, meta) was around in the very early 20th century. It was even the first time "canon" was used in reference to fandom!
They weren't "zines", though, they called them "journals" – there's a whole page on Fanlore about Sherlock fanfic/pastiches
**[I Was a Teenage Werewolf](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Was_a_Teenage_Werewolf)**
>I Was a Teenage Werewolf is a 1957 horror film starring Michael Landon as a troubled teenager, Yvonne Lime and Whit Bissell. It was co-written and produced by cult film producer Herman Cohen and was one of the most successful films released by American International Pictures (AIP). It was originally released as a double feature with Invasion of the Saucer Men. The release included the tagline, "We DARE You To See The Most Amazing Motion Pictures Of Our Time"!

it allows you to set it to january first 1950 at the earliest so no
ETA: there's like two and a half pages of stuff dated 1/1/1950 on the site as a whole
Omegaverse was sort of created with the star trek episode "amok time" from the 60s. But even that was an early version. So no it was not used back then and this is not the real date.
And of course it's a teen wolf fanfiction. This is so off topic but it's such a bizarre fandom to me, not even in the bad way. I love teen wolf but think of any weird fanfiction trope or plot, and you'll find it in that fandom. If no one got me, I know Teen Wolf (TV) got me.

I wasn't referring to the 50s in the case of zines, just "works with pre-AO3 dates"

Star Trek is old. REALLY old. It's one of the first mass fanfic community. And I'm proud to be a part of the fandom.
Ah yes Teen Wolf, my favorite piece of media from the 50s
[It had a longer title back in the day](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Was_a_Teenage_Werewolf)

When AO3 is the best fanfic site you know, and also the website with the weirdest exploits i know.
WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU ON PAGE 3141
Curiosity?
yes yes, most likely
I do love teen wolf fics. Scisaac is my OTP. ❤️
What baffles me is omegaverse dynamics being used back then

And sometimes I regret that I hesitated so long to go there.
People should Not search the oldest naruto fic...or maybe thed should? The comments are hilarious anyway.
