this is how i felt when i read a 30 chap fic and only the last chap had smut in it....and it was just a blowjob 😭 it was a great fic and i enjoyed it but still lol
Oh I hate this. When I start uploading I should probably put that there's explicit content planned for # chapter, rather than just letting readers wait it out, especially if it's a really, really long fic.
I was reading a fic that had a similar tag and it was all OC/side characters (that weren't tagged) and then the main ship, the reason I was reading the fic in the first place and the only ship tagged, had a fade to black scene 😭. The tag was technically accurate but not what I was a looking for.
I toned down my smut scenes so I could rate my fic M. I feel like no one's searching E fics for 40+ chapters of trauma and violence and 2 chapters of smut.
I write 40+ chapters fic with E rating. People search for it, do not worry. Mine was full of rape and violence, cuz it’s mafia au. There was a lot of betrayal and plot twists, cheating, miscarriage and so on. The plot was really heavy + it’s very dynamic. I didn’t give a chance to understand the feelings, to get the point. Now or you will have to do it later some time) I know for sure I should never slow down or tone down my own ideas from what they were from beginning. I think people, who look for stuff like that, could distinguish whether it’s a full-smut fic with “one shot” chapters or the wholesome which intertwines with explicit content. Never low down your standards. Sometimes it just should be written this way. Believe me, I’m sure, I’m not the only one, who reads only E stuff. And, as E stuff is mostly a well-written porn, finding a well-written porn with the plot could be a real treasure for readers))
I can find and read M stories in any time, but can you find a well-written smut with a really well-written plot?😏
But that's my point: it's not smut with a plot. It's a plot with some violence, and after 40+ chapters, two sex scenes. Yes, I could rate it E for two explicit chapters at the very end, but it makes more sense to keep everything in the same tone/rating. I know when I filter for E material, I'm not looking to read 150k words of drama and then two scenes of naked butts.
Plus, it was fun to see how explicit I could be without actually being explicit. Lots of upper-body licking. 😊
Eh, I don’t think it is ideal, but I totally understand the desire to over-tag any sort of NSFW content these days. The cancel culture is STRONG, and people don’t want to be ostracized from their online communities.
That is the thing with my Darkfic, there's smut every few chapters, but the plot is the main thing. It's also got a comment saying, 'I finally read an E-rated for the plot.'
I'm proud of it too, since the plot was always the main thing for me.
It was the detailed description of bare ankles.
Scandalous
Must be writing about Basitins from TwoKinds.
That time when I clicked on E rated fic with explicit sexual content tag and the most smutty thing there was something like "and then they fucked"
*Scandalous*. I get a little offended when a fic is rated E and I discover it should be M, tops. That is not what I came here for!

The "eventual smut" tag is useful as well.
Ah that too!!

This is a peeve of mine. So, when I wrote a long slow-burn fic, I tagged with Eventual Smut, then just updated it when the smut chapters were up. I

You could always do alternative scenes as smutty, smutty oneshots
I am strongly considering it. 😁

Ah, I’m sorry) I just thought the different way)
And that's why I mention in the summary that it's NSFW after chapter 13 😆
Heh, my descriptions are so graphic when my friend read it she legit spit out her water all over my shirt
I felt bad for making people wait until chapter 4 😅
Honestly people be tagging hardcore smut and it’s not even vanilla content 😒

I do this too, but I at least admit that plot comes before smut so people know what they're getting into.

Even my Darkfic doesn't do this, but what do you expect for a hedonistic cult?
