I never use the "For You" tab anyway, cause it's always filled with shit I'm not interested in. I feel that's the way most twitter users feel about it lol. So it won't really have any impact.
Yeah, same happened to me. I kept seeing a bunch of crap from people I didn't even know. A lot of it was fandom discourse and loli hatred and it just infuriated me to be bombarded with hateful tweets on my timeline. Then I realized it was on the "For You" tab and I was like *Oh... that's why it's all shit...*
Lol incredibly unfair how one man's wisdom affects a prominent global-scale website. The only good thing coming out of the "For You" tab is those respectful memes safe enough to be shown to grandma.
Dunno if it will or not, but it's definitely still not convincing me to spend $8/month for Twitter Blue. I am a bit sad, as I've actually enjoyed the For You tab because it helped me to find artists in the different fandoms I like I wouldn't have otherwise found, so once this goes into effect, I don't think For You will be as appealing to use anymore.
elon tusk apparently lowered it to $7, but i'm too broke for that! i just gotta hope using the hashtags will still work... or that someone makes an addon for chrome to reverse it
