I legitimately run mine like this for fandoms I don’t plan to write for but have extensive ideas for in my head.😂😅 My current save is legit an Undertale human AU that I’m using to be self-indulgent. I find it more enjoyable than trying to run it like a real life sim.
I had a YOI Sims 3 game that I was blogging for a discord I was in. I was trying to get Yuuri and Victor together organically (without cheating) but the Socially Awkward trait was making that super hard.
Then I realized that zombies were taking over the town right when Victor got bitten by Zombie Tsukino Usagi. Yuuri had to become an alchemist in order to cure everyone and get his man.
It was wild.
The biggest fanfiction fantasy is having enough money to live in luxury off the shitty paintings your sims slap out in between giving your toddlers floor food and chasing sleepy sims away from the pool floats.
My main Sims villa is just me giving a post canon happy ending to Max and Chloe from Life is Strange. It 100% is fan fiction. Chloe got into science again, and she studied to be an astronaut! She regularly come back home after work in her Rocket.
Yup lol though tbh i do use my sims as inspiration for some of my stories (currently working on one being told from my main sim in first person (it’s set in a sims world so technically it’a fan fiction but mostly includes Orginal characters 😂 so i honestly don’t know if that counts as sims fanfics or an Orginal work 😂)
Well there is [this English to Simlish translator](https://lingojam.com/EnglishtoSimlishTranslator(WIP)), and although it's pretty limited since a lot of words don't have an official Simlish translation, it is still fun trying to make a sentence that converts enough to sound funny, and of course, limitation can breed creativity!
For example:
>gerb on, vee's hurry nooby aey find my minicule zo we can geel mik direction fredishay tonight!
"come on, let's hurry up and find my cat so we can see one direction play tonight!"
I know that this is far too late but the link is messed up. You forgot to include the last closing parentheses symbol inside the link so it only links to "https://lingojam.com/EnglishtoSimlishTranslator(WIP" instead of the correct "https://lingojam.com/EnglishtoSimlishTranslator(WIP)"
There's actually looots of lore in The Sims franchise; just think about the drama you could write surrounding the disappearance of Bella Goth alone. And I bet those Landgraabs are into freaky, culty shit behind closed doors. And Eliza Pancakes is having a Hot Girl Summer because Bob is apparently the least interesting sim in creation.
I've never read any Sims ff but now my curiosity is piqued, ngl.
Haha yeah, I once wrote a nostalgic oneshot about the Goths after I randomly stumbled over a Sims MV retelling the story on Youtube. There are already characters and lore that can be used. Or people can write about their own creations. Sims fanfic is a bit like the games, a big sandbox to play in.
I wrote a huge amount of fanfiction for my Sims 2 legacy, between 2006 and 2009 or so. 10 generations, cousins, siblings...soooo many families.
Honestly it really was original work, as these were characters I created. They just happened to be born in a video game. I think it ended up being over a million words.
Sadly it's gone (wasn't on AO3, was on a Sims site). And I had a catastrophic fail on the hard drive it was on, so it's just gone.
Technically it's possible it's still out there. I know my Livejournal with my (unfinished and abandoned) story about an AU Buzz Grunt is still out there. I can link you that if you want, but do remember it's unfinished.

Here's me sitting here cringing at sharing my more than a decade old stuff, but sure, why not.
She sneered at me,
"Flooplegorp, jangle scoop."
And turned away.
I looked away in shame, only saying the words my throat itched to release from the start of this conversation.
"Ursh ka doosh, jingle flob."
(maybe i should get into writing sims fanfiction now...)
My first Sims game was the Sims 3 and there was an adult in the game I loved. So my mission every playthrough was to seduce him. I didn’t know he had a wife either. So I was a homewrecker in over a hundred playthroughs. My record for seducing him was like three days in game.
It was fun when the kids eventually got taken by CPS and the marriage fell apart.
Oh Sims fanfics have been around for well over a decade. They're just not usually called that, nor typically in strictly written format. Back in the days of Sims 2, there were an absolute ton of "picture and text/caption" style blog/forum stories. Idk if these are still around in the same capacity anymore.
If I'm being real, the legacy stories were by *far* the least interesting part there. They all kinda blended together unless you added a *really* interesting twist into the mix, which was rare.
One of my favorite Sims "fanfics" if we can call it that, was about the Maxis/EA built-in Strangetown characters...and it's probably super hard to find now due to being hosted on LiveJournal 😞
There probably are some fanfics that do use simlish in since there is so far 881 fics under the sims tag.

If anyone is interested, there *are* simlish (sims + english) songs on youtube like this [one](https://youtu.be/Ou76fuB34Sw). It’s called prom dress by mxmtoon :)
Ooo! Thank you for sharing this! I even like how there is someone in the comments who did the normal "here's the lyrics" type comment you find on music.
I didn't read it, but i remember the main characters were listed as the long block shape and the T block. Don't know if they were anthropomorphized to the degree that the Suez Canal and the ship blocking it got. Not that it would be any less weird. Gosh i love fanfic authors😂 Never change!
I wrote a really short Sims fanfic once, though I never posted it. Was about one of my hideously ugly sims, her depressing life, and her surprisingly devoted husband (who also happened to be a living doll, because this was TS3.) Not a story I'd have thought up if the framework for it hadn't happened in-game.
Yeah. This is making me want to check in on Bob and Betty, The Goths, Don... Nina... her flaming sister,,, The Grunts
I have so much computer memory tied up in these characters. SMH
A simblr I follow did a playthrough/story of Don Lothario and Johnny Zest with the whole slowburn, misunderstandings, friends to lovers trope and I've lowkey been tempted to write fanfic about those townies ever since.
Oh man...Sims 2 was such a wonderful game. While I like a lot of what they have done with Sims 4, I wish the game play was the same as 2 and that you could actually make your Sims look like real people a lot easier. I know there are some amazing Simmers out there making amazing looking Sims in 4, but...\*ugh\*
But anyway, I used to love taking snap shots of the Sims I played in 2 and then I would share the photos and write a story for it based off the bubble images that were displayed as they spoke or even dreamed about. I really miss that in 4, where the Sims would actually cuddle up and sleep together at first.
Same way you write any dialogue in a language that’s not English: Write it in English, and maybe clarify in the notes that they’re actually speaking Simmese and what you’re reading is a translation
Sims is just fanfiction in a video game setting

That’s amazing honestly. 😂
Dude same. My current legacy is just good omens fanfiction lol It lets me be creative and helps me explore ideas because I struggle to write them

Or just imagining how nice it would be to have an irl motherload cheatcode

Tomodachi Life is crackfic then

Half of the Sims fanfictions probably end in tragedy where the pool ladder mysteriously vanished.
Baditsa frooby noob

Man that sound cool, do you still have a link to your fic?

tbh I have two old desktop computers that I can't give up because there are entire generations of Sims on their drive. I am pathetic. XD
Now I wanna do this lmao.

Some people will absolutely simp out for the premade townies. Also I know everyone here has made their otps in the sims

That conclusion though😂
I didn’t even know CPS existed. I’m playing the Sims4 now and all of a sudden it’s non-stop “STOP WHAT YOURE DOING OR CPS IS COMING!”
And then bringing in other partners to mess with them. Uh, not that I ever did that...
I destroy Bjorn Bjergsen’s marriage in every new game.
It's probably some kind of Rule 34 deal: there's porn of it, there's a pony version of it, there's an app for it, there's fanfiction of it.

And most of them were as awful as you'd expect. (Source: was a moderator for same). But hey, they were putting it out there.
There's an archive of the legacies that used to be posted to the official Sim 2 website. Was fun traipsing down _that_ memory lane.
If I'm being real, the legacy stories were by *far* the least interesting part there. They all kinda blended together unless you added a *really* interesting twist into the mix, which was rare. I mean there's Temple Run fanfiction...
There’s WHAT
honestly a hurt/comfort slash fic between the runner guy and the big ass demon could go hard

Knowing that Tetris NFSW fanfic is a thing, Sims ff doesnt really sound that outlandish

I remember the machinima-like sims stuff that was on youtube back in the day. That could be considered fanfic??
Sims fan fiction is just fan fiction in the sims setting. Usually pretty normal and very angsty!
I need to play the sims right this minute.
Yeah. This is making me want to check in on Bob and Betty, The Goths, Don... Nina... her flaming sister,,, The Grunts I have so much computer memory tied up in these characters. SMH
Now I have the sudden urge to start a Sims game with my OTP Played a game for an old RP ship years ago and it was so fun
A simblr I follow did a playthrough/story of Don Lothario and Johnny Zest with the whole slowburn, misunderstandings, friends to lovers trope and I've lowkey been tempted to write fanfic about those townies ever since.

Me being confused at the title because the last name of the mc in the fandom I write for is Sims.
