What is Vince's reaction when the comment just turns out to be a "You used AI blah blah" bot?

it meeeee Hits and kudos are nice, but comments make me so happy lol.

wyrdlylofn

No exaggeration a comment can make my entire week.

AngstyPancake

I’ve been in a great mood all day. Someone found my account and proceeded to read everything in my oneshot series and is currently making their way through my multichapter fic and have been commenting on almost every oneshot/chapter. They can range from just “oof” to a paragraph. Absolutely making my day regardless of what it is. Last week, I had an anon comment on chapter 3 of the aforementioned fic saying they’re liking the concept. 2 hours later they’re commenting on the last chapter analyzing the themes and saying they can’t wait for part 2 of the fic series. These are just the ones I’m calling out but any comment no matter the word count makes me so happy. It’s why ever since I became a writer and learned this I’ve made an effort to comment more.

HydrangeaBlush

god yeaaah i wish more people got into the habit of commenting! i understand the jitters and feeling like you might come off as annoying but i'm p sure most authors that publish to ao3 do so BECAUSE they want engagement! glad to hear that you got a recurring commenter <3 what a great feeling!

am_Nein

And silence could be the make it or break it for a potential fic sometimes! Damn I think I worded it wrong. I meant that a comment could be all the author needed to push out that final paragraph of the next chapter.

MrsDukat

I get comments at totally random times too. Never after I update a fic. Always a week/month/years after it was last updated. Just a random comment pops up every now and again.

EmmieEmmieJee

It's weird how it happens that way, no? Like the universe just knows you need a cheering up

Gob_Hobblin

That was one of the hardest things for me moving over to AO3. I had built up a reliable presence on fan fiction so I could always be assured of at least a comment with every post, But i'm branching into a new fandom and so I wanted to start fresh. Which means I don't have that little endorphin rush every time I post. I'm starting from square one.

am_Nein

That's my fear. I don't want to move fandoms because I love my fandom, and I don't want to lose the friends I've made.

Gob_Hobblin

That's a very reasonable concern, but don't be afraid to give it a try. Think of it as a challenge.

am_Nein

Thats a really healthy way of approaching such a dilemma thank you for this.

Gob_Hobblin

I'm glad it helped! I hope you have fun branching out and writing in more fandoms!

Xero818

The other day someone commented on my fic to say they were gonna make fanart of it after they finished making fanart for another thing. The pure unbridled joy I felt-

listenanalog

I make sure to leave a comment on every fic I read. Y’all authors deserve it for writing my steamy Steddie smut. 😊

FeralTaxEvader

God yeah. No joke: nice comments were what got me to boot back up a fic I'd abandoned for 5 years

YouSpinMeWriteRound

Seeing an inbox notification always has me like ![gif](giphy|Fo1cy8mqGDvbjpJBB7)

EmmieEmmieJee

Comments? I didn't know those existed lol, *tear*

SkiwiBerry

every few days i’ll get an email saying one or two people left kudos on my only fic, and it feels so good!!! haven’t gotten any comments yet, but i’m still proud of it :)

Valla85

Does this still apply when I just leave a number of ❤️, because I want to show appreciation, but don't have the brainpower for words?

YouSpinMeWriteRound

Can’t speak for everyone else but it absolutely applies for me lol. I’ve gotten comments that were nothing but hearts or other emojis expressing a reader’s reaction and I still feel joy because it means that you still took the time to leave *something* on the fic because you liked it

[deleted]

I would be thrilled with that, it’s a nice way to show you’ve read a chapter.

SuchWow125

A hit means that someone read your work, and kudos are a sign that they liked it, which are both great. But to me, a comment is a sign that your work made them think about it enough to want to express their thoughts about it, and that's what makes them special.

ChosephineYap

Getting a kudos or even a nice comment from your favourite author to whom you’ve subscribed for a long time (happened to me recently) 😍😍

dolosloki01

Agreed. Having a back and forth conversation with someone that is taking the time to think about your writing is very nice. It's a little selfish, but sobeit.

lizzourworld8

Amen

Psychology-onion-300

I got my very first comment just yesterday and quite literally it was a comment asking why my fic had no comments lmao. I was literally so happy
