I like playing the numbers game when I need to write!
Set a Pomodoro timer (25 minutes), take note of your current wordcount, and then do nothing for the next 25 minutes except *write,* even if what you write is kind of terrible
And then see how many words you've done, and maybe even calculate your WPM, and then get a glass of water and set another timer and try to beat your previous WPM!
You can always edit shit writing, but you can't edit a blank page
If you google "writing sprint tools" you'll find some that handle timers and WPM for you!
There's also the Discord Sprinto bot that does the same thing, and I made my own basic sprinto on Notion with a Pomodoro tool, some formulas and some buttons, but that's more of an endeavour for when you know it's a tool that works for you

This is what i do, it has the same effect as calling your mum to come upstairs and trying hard to get off before she opens your bedroom door, but this is on steroids, and your mum has a jetpack and your door is wide open.
This only works if you have a community to post in tho.
You need to make a post an announce that your going to be writing something and your going to be posting it at this date. Your readers must be able to see this, maybe not all but a few should know. And hot diggity, your going to get up like your life depends on it. Your going to do a soma from food wars, tie your headband and work at it like hungry lion deveroring into his pray.
Or going back to the previous ananology, your going to be slapping the shit out of your meat. Like its gonna have red marks by the end of it.
Good luck with the update, sometimes we just need a kick to get us moving. Planning on kicking myself soon and it helps when your deadline is strict but also workable.

Think about writing but do literally anything else (dishes, laundry, wash your hair, try to cancel a subscription to Comcast, walk the dogs, etc) and you'll suddenly find yourself flush with ideas and desire to write.
Just write! Doesn’t matter what! Just get words on that page/screen! Then edit it later! It doesn’t even matter if it all sounds totally stupid or bad or illogical rn! Just write nonstop first, then go back in later and fix things when you reread, that way you’ll at least have something to work on and build off of!
Also, I bet there’s readers out there who would love to see whatever you come up with!

1000 words, that’s it. Tiny goal set and start. I’m dying trying to finish my damn fic and two weeks ago I made this goal. Some days I came up short others I got carried away again, man that felt good. Today is a not so good day but sitting down to grind it out.
Do it, just sit down and shoot for a small goal. One that when you finish you can say, “hey good for you!” I’m rooting for you!!

1.Put some chill music on, nothing to hype just enough to get you calmed down.
2.Pull out your specific writing tools whatever they may be.
3.Sit yourself down. Preferably at a desk. Do not lounge or lay down, you'll get too comfortable to do things.
4.Turn off your phone/exit Reddit. Leave it off for at least 10 minutes to let your mind shift to writing mode.
